The new ligand HPDO3MA [(R,R,R,R)-10-(2-hydroxypropyl)-α,α′,α′′-trimethyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-triacetic acid] was designed to combine and optimize the chemical properties of the macrocyclic ligands HPDO3A and DOTMA. The presence of the methyl groups on the acetic pendant arms of HPDO3A is expected to rigidify the structure of the ligand and favor an increase of the kinetic inertness of the Ln complexes. 1H NMR spectra of Eu(HPDO3MA) displayed the presence of two pairs of diastereoisomers: SAP (square antiprismatic) and TSAP (twisted square antiprismatic) isomers (56 and 44 %, respectively). In addition, 1H and 17O relaxometric NMR studies of Gd(HPDO3MA) showed approximately a 10 % increase in relaxivity and a faster water exchange rate with respect to Gd(HPDO3A). Moreover, a detailed chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) characterization of Yb(HPDO3MA) displayed a sensitivity about two times larger than that of Yb(HPDO3A) both in phantom and in cell labeling experiments. Finally, the kinetic inertness of Yb(HPDO3MA) was measured to be twice as high as that of Yb(HPDO3A), with a dissociation half-life at physiological pH of about 2500 years.  相似文献

A better understanding of the solution chemistry of the lanthanide (Ln) salts in water would have wide ranging implications in materials processing, waste management, element tracing, medicine and many more fields. This is particularly true for minerals processing, given governmental concerns about lanthanide security of supply and the drive to identify environmentally sustainable processing routes. Despite much effort, even in simple systems, the mechanisms and thermodynamics of LnIII association with small anions remain unclear. In the present study, molecular dynamics (MD), using a newly developed force field, provide new insights into LnCl3(aq) solutions. The force field accurately reproduces the structure and dynamics of Nd3+, Gd3+ and Er3+ in water when compared to calculations using density functional theory (DFT). Adaptive-bias MD simulations show that the mechanisms for ion pairing change from dissociative to associative exchange depending upon cation size. Thermodynamics of association reveal that whereas ion pairing is favourable, the equilibrium distribution of species at low concentration is dominated by weakly bound solvent-shared and solvent-separated ion pairs, rather than contact ion pairs, reconciling a number of contrasting observations of LnIII–Cl association in the literature. In addition, we show that the thermodynamic stabilities of a range of inner sphere and outer sphere coordination complexes are comparable and that the kinetics of anion binding to cations may control solution speciation distributions beyond ion pairs. The techniques adopted in this work provide a framework with which to investigate more complex solution chemistries of cations in water.  相似文献

As the dysprosocenium complex [Dy(Cpttt)2][B(C6F5)4] (Cpttt=C5H2tBu3-1,2,4, 1-Dy ) exhibits magnetic hysteresis at 60 K, similar lanthanide (Ln) complexes have been targeted to provide insights into this remarkable property. We recently reported homologous [Ln(Cpttt)2][B(C6F5)4] ( 1-Ln ) for all the heavier Ln from Gd–Lu; herein, we extend this motif to the early Ln. We find, for the largest LnIII cations, that contact ion pairs [Ln(Cpttt)2{(C6F51-F)B(C6F5)3}] ( 1-Ln ; La–Nd) are isolated from reactions of parent [Ln(Cpttt)2(Cl)] ( 2-Ln ) with [H(SiEt3)2][B(C6F5)4], where the anion binds weakly to the equatorial sites of [Ln(Cpttt)2]+ through a single fluorine atom in the solid state. For smaller SmIII, [Sm(Cpttt)2][B(C6F5)4] ( 1-Sm ) is isolated, which like heavier 1-Ln does not exhibit equatorial anion interactions, but the EuIII analogue 1-Eu could not be synthesised due to the facile reduction of EuIII precursors to EuII products. Thus with the exception of Eu and radioactive Pm this work constitutes a structurally similar family of Ln metallocenium complexes, over 50 years after the [M(Cp)2]+ series was isolated for the 3d metals.  相似文献

A zinc-selective probe based on a set of rare earth complexes of a modified DO3A macrocyclic ligand incorporating a tris-pyridylamine (TPA) moiety has been structurally characterised in solution and in the solid-state. One pyridine group possesses a tert-butyl substituent to serve as an NMR reporter group. The mono-capped square-antiprismatic Dy complex has a long bond (2.83 Å) to an apical N atom (pKa 5.70 Eu) and binds to one water molecule on zinc binding. Zinc binding is reversible and involves all of the exocyclic ligand N donors; it is signalled by large (ratiometric) changes in Eu emission intensity, and by dramatic changes in the size (>50 ppm) and sign of the chemical shift of the paramagnetically shifted tBu resonances in Tb, Dy and Tm complexes. Slow trans-metallation was observed, leading to formation of an unusual di-zinc species in which one zinc ion is seven-coordinate and the other is six-coordinate.  相似文献

Three lanthanide‐based two‐dimensional (2D) coordination polymers (CPs), [Ln(L)(H2O)2]n, {H3L=(HO)2P(O)CH2CO2H; Ln=Dy3+ (CP 1 ), Er3+ (CP 2 )} and [{Gd2(L)2(H2O)3}.H2O]n, (CP 3 ) were hydrothermally synthesized using phosphonoacetic acid as a linker. Structural features revealed that the dinuclear Ln3+ nodes were present in the 2D sheet of CP 1 and CP 2 while in the case of CP 3 , nodes were further connected to each other forming a chain‐type arrangement throughout the network. The magnetic studies show field‐induced slow magnetic relaxation property in CP 1 and CP 2 with Ueff values of 72 K (relaxation time, τ0=3.05×10?7 s) and 38.42 K (relaxation time, τ0=4.60×10?8 s) respectively. Ab‐initio calculations suggest that the g tensor of Kramers doublet of the lanthanide ion (Dy3+ and Er3+) is strongly axial in nature which reflects in the slow magnetic relaxation behavior of both CPs. CP 3 exhibits a significant magnetocaloric effect with ?ΔSm=49.29 J kg?1 K?1, one of the highest value among the reported 2D CPs. Moreover, impedance analysis of all the CPs show high proton conductivity with values of 1.13×10?6 S cm?1, 2.73×10?3 S cm?1 and 2, 6.27×10?6 S cm?1 for CPs 1 – 3 , respectively, at high temperature (>75 °C) and maximum 95 % relative humidity (RH).  相似文献

Crystal structures, single‐molecule magnetic behavior, and ab initio calculations of four new phenoxo‐bridged dinuclear dysprosium complexes and their gadolinium(III) analogues are explored. Complexes [Dy2(DMOMP)2(DBM)4]2 ? CHCl3 ( 1 ; DMOMP=1‐methyl‐3,5‐dimethoxy‐4‐hydroxybenzene, DBM=1,3‐diphenylpropane‐1,3‐dione); [Dy2(DMOAP)2(DBM)4]2 ? CHCl3 ( 2 ; DMOAP=syringaldehyde); Dy2(DMOEP)2(DBM)4 ( 3 ; DMOEP=methyl syringate); and solvent‐free Dy2(DMOMP)2(DBM)4 ( 4 ), which is obtained by the transformation of single crystal into single crystal from 1 , have nearly identical core structures and only differ in the substituents at the para position of the phenol moieties of the bridging ligand. In this system, the electronic effects are efficiently implemented to significantly modify the ligand field strength and exchange coupling by modulating the substituents on the phenol backbone. The effective energy barrier (Ueff) of magnetization reversal is improved significantly to fivefold magnitude, at most, and the hysteresis temperature up to 3.5 K by deliberately using the electron‐withdrawing substituent to replace the electron‐donating one. The origin of the two relaxation processes in 1 is mostly attributed to the existence of two molecules in one unit, which is illuminated by means of the transformation of single crystal into single crystal.  相似文献

A nanoscale terbium‐containing metal–organic framework ( nTbL ), with a layer‐like structure and [H2NMe2]+ cations located in the framework channels, was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The structure of the as‐prepared sample was systematically confirmed by powder XRD and elemental analysis; the morphology was characterized by field‐emission SEM and TEM. The photoluminescence studies revealed that rod‐like nTbL exhibited bright‐green emission, corresponding to 5D47FJ (J=6–3) transitions of the Tb3+ ion under excitation. Further sensing measurements revealed that as‐prepared nTbL could be utilized as a multiresponsive luminescent sensor, which showed significant and exclusive detection ability for Fe3+ ions and phenylmethanol. These results highlight the practical applications of lanthanide‐containing metal–organic frameworks as fluorescent probes.  相似文献

The use of methane as a reactive gas dramatically increases the selectivity of the arc‐discharge synthesis of M‐Ti‐carbide clusterfullerenes (M=Y, Nd, Gd, Dy, Er, Lu). Optimization of the process parameters allows the synthesis of Dy2TiC@C80‐I and its facile isolation in a single chromatographic step. A new type of cluster with an endohedral acetylide unit, M2TiC2@C80, is discovered along with the second isomer of M2TiC@C80. Dy2TiC@C80‐(I,II) and Dy2TiC2@C80‐I are shown to be single‐molecule magnets (SMM), but the presence of the second carbon atom in the cluster Dy2TiC2@C80 leads to substantially poorer SMM properties.  相似文献

Herein, we report the fabrication of a sensitive ratiometric and colorimetric luminescent thermometer with a wide operating‐temperature range, from cryogenic temperatures up to high temperatures, through the combination of lanthanide and transition metal complexes. Benefiting from the transition metal complex as a self‐reference, the lanthanide content in the mixed‐coordination complex, Eu0.05(Mebip‐mim bromine)0.15Zn0.95(Mebip‐mim bromine)1.9, was lowered to 5 %.  相似文献
