本文讨论了如何在大学物理单缝的夫琅禾费衍射课堂演示实验中引入当前光学领域研究前沿的一个重要物理现象-亚波长金属缝异常光学透射现象.基于数值模拟,比较了在夫琅禾费衍射实验条件下,纳米尺寸单缝的异常光学透射和微米尺度单缝衍射的特点,讨论并指出纳米单缝的异常透射特征是纳米尺度光与物质强相互作用的反映,而这种强相互作用在微米尺度单缝的夫琅禾费衍射中是不显著的.最后对用于课堂演示的衍射实验装置的设计进行了讨论.  相似文献

基于晶格振动模受激电磁耦子散射过程的基本原理,对由LiTaO3(LT)晶体组成的太赫兹波参量振荡器(TPO)的输出调谐特性、增益和吸收损耗特性,以及基于硅棱镜阵列耦合装置的THz波输出特性等方面进行了详细的理论研究和分析.研究结果表明,基于LiTaO3晶体A1对称性晶格振动的特点以及自身优异的非线性光学特性,通过利用短波长抽运光、适当提高抽运能量以及缩短TPO谐振腔腔长等方法,完全可以实现LT-TPO的高性能运转,证明了LiTaO3晶体是一种性能优良的TPO工作介质.理论计算结果及方法为以后的LT-TPO实验工作提供了详实的理论依据和实验指导. 关键词: 非线性光学 THz辐射 3晶体')" href="#">LiTaO3晶体 电磁耦子  相似文献

To investigate light coupling between a long range surface plasmon polariton (LRSPP) waveguide and a conventional integrated optical component, a hybrid vertical directional coupler consisting of a LRSPP waveguides and a dielectric waveguide is investigated and fabricated. In the proposed coupler the dielectric waveguide and LRSPP waveguide are vertically configured for dense integration and strong coupling. The characteristics of the even and odd super-modes of the coupler are also analyzed to design the device. The fabricated device exhibits damped sinusoidal behavior along the coupling length due to propagation loss of the LRSPP waveguide. The maximum power transfer of 86% from the LRSPP waveguide to the dielectric waveguide is achieved at the coupling length of 600 μm. The measured characteristics of the device are in relatively good agreement with a theoretical analysis.  相似文献

Diamagnetism of condensed microcavity polaritons in a vertically applied magnetic field is theoretically studied by using the density of free energy of polaritons. The magnetic dependence of polaritonpolariton interactions and spin polarization degree of polaritons are derived, and are used to show the diamagnetic behavior of the polariton spin polarization, which is discussed for GaAs-based microcavities. We show that for strong magnetic field the spin polarization of the polaritons is paramagnetic as usual, while around positive exciton–photon detuning and special Rabi splitting, the spin polarization of the polaritons could be diamagnetic. In addition, weak magnetic field and high polariton density are beneficial to observe the polariton diamagnetism.  相似文献

From the beginning of the 20th century, researchers have been interested in surface electromagnetic waves guided by planar interfaces of dissimilar mediums. Much initial research on surface‐plasmon waves and surface‐plasmon‐polariton waves stemmed from theoretical curiosity, but the development of new experimental techniques propelled commercial exploitation for optical sensors of chemical and biological species. Additional surface waves called Dyakonov waves, Tamm waves, and Dyakonov–Tamm waves have emerged during the last 25 years. Experimental observation of Dyakonov waves was reported only in 2009, but the rapid development of experimental apparatus during the 1990s suggests that theoretical predictions will soon be evaluated experimentally, leading to further development of optical detection systems and optical circuitry.  相似文献

Bistable switching using an optical Tamm cavity with a Kerr medium   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
All-optical bistable switching is proposed to realize by using an optical Tamm cavity in which a Kerr medium is sandwiched between a metal layer and a Bragg mirror. Results show that the excitation of clockwise and counterclockwise bistable switching under the control of external optical injection is due to the presence of optical Tamm states. In addition, the bistable characteristics of optical Tamm cavities are found to be sensitive to the polarization of external optical injection.  相似文献

Thermal radiation is generally assumed to be both spatially and temporally incoherent. In this paper, we challenge this idea. It is possible to design incandescent sources that are directional and spectrally selective by taking advantage of surface waves. We also report the discovery of the enhancement by several orders of magnitude of the energy density close to an interface at a particular frequency as well as the enhancement of the radiative flux between two interfaces when surface phonon polaritons can be excited. These results lead to the design of a novel class of infrared incandescent sources with potential applications in spectroscopy and thermophotovoltaic energy conversion.  相似文献
