It has previously been observed that the carbamide residue in 2-phenacyl-3-ureido- and 2-cyanomethylpyridine is readily cleaved on cyclization to pyridothiazines [1–4]. It was of interest to establish whether a similar process occurs when the carbonyl component is an -halo- or unsaturated acid. Investigation of bis-heteryl derivatives of piperazine and its analogs 1. Synthesis and conversions of n,n′-bis(2-r-5-nitro-6-pyrimidinyl)piperazines and n,n3-bis(2-r-5-nitro-6-pyrimidinyl)dispirotripiperazinium dichloride

A method has been developed for the synthesis of some N,N-bis(5-nitro-6-pyrimidiny;) derivatives of piperazine and dispirotripiperazinium dichloride containing a chlorine atom in the 4 position of the pyrimidine ring. Tunable backward-wave oscillators (BWO) equipped with computer aided control and data processing means are applied for liquid (e.g. mineral oil) and solid (Si, GaAs, YBaCuO) sample spectrometry in the frequency range above 200 GHz.     

Investigation of nitrogen- and sulfur-containing heterocycles. 39. Reactions of 2-mercapto-3-ureido- and 2-mercapto-3-aminopyridines with β-halo carbonyl compounds. Synthesis of 6-oxo derivatives of pyrido[2,3-b][1,5]thiazepines

The reaction of 2-mercapto-3-ureido- and 2-mercapto-3-aminopyridines with -halo derivatives of carbonyl compounds (ketones, acids, and aldehydes) and with acrylonitrile proceeds not only via the mercapto group but also via the amino group, as a result of which S--keto (carboxy, cyano) alkyl, N,S-bis(-ketoalkyl), and N,S-diacyl derivatives of pyridine are formed. The action of acids, alkalis, and dehydrating agents on 2-S--keto (carboxy, cyano) ethyl-3-aminoureidopyridines was studied. A method for the preparation of derivatives of a new heterocyclic system, viz., 6-oxopyrido [2,3-b] [1,5] thiazepine, by the reaction of 2-mercapto-3-aminopyridines with -bromopropionic acid and subsequent treatment of 2-(-car-boxyethyl) thio-8-aminopyridines with dicyclohexylcarbodiimide was developed.See [5] for Communication 38.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 5, pp. 634–639, May, 1981.

Ring-chain tautomerism of S-acylalkylmercapto-substituted aminoquinoxalines

The ring-chain tautomerism of S-acylalkylmercapto-substituted aminoquinoxalines was studied by means of IR and PMR spectroscopy. It was established that, depending on the substituants,the investigated compounds have open or cyclic structures or exist in the form of mixtures of these forms. Researches ok heterocyclic rings containing nitrogen and sulfur II. Orotylamino acids, their esters, and salts of orotic acid with amines

Esters of orotylamino acid are synthesized by reacting orotyl chloride with glycine and- and-alanine esters. Orotylamino acids are prepared by reducing the benzyl ester of orotylglycine, or by reacting orotyl chloride with sodium salts of amino acids. A series of salts of orotic acid are prepared by reacting orotic acid with amines.For Part I see [8].     

Intermolecular interactions in orthophosphoric acid-<Emphasis Type="Italic">N,N</Emphasis>-dimethylformamide system according to viscometric data

The viscosity of an orthophosphoric acid—N,N-dimethylformamide system was measured in the whole region of compositions at 298–338 K. An excess viscosity of the system was analyzed by the data obtained using different model concepts. Calculations suggested that strong intermolecular interactions and the formation of complexes (H₃PO₄)₂·DMF occur in the system. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Investigation of nitrogen- and sulfur-containing heterocycles

The reaction of o-aminomercapto derivatives of pyrimidine, pyrazine, and pyridine, with -halo acid nitriles was investigated. The corresponding cyanoalkylthio heterocycles, which were converted to 6-amino derivatives of pyrimido[4,5-b]-, pyrazino[2,3-b]-, and pyrido-[2,3-b]-1,4-thiazines, were obtained.
