Ever since the conceptualization of cellular automata (CA), much attention has been paid to the dynamical properties of these discrete dynamical systems, and, more in particular, to their sensitivity to the initial condition from which they are evolved. Yet, the sensitivity of CA to the topology upon which they are based has received only minor attention, such that a clear insight in this dependence is still lacking and, furthermore, a quantification of this so-called topological sensitivity has not yet been proposed. The lack of attention for this issue is rather surprising since CA are spatially explicit, which means that their dynamics is directly affected by their topology. To overcome these shortcomings, we propose topological Lyapunov exponents that measure the divergence of two close trajectories in phase space originating from a topological perturbation, and we relate them to a measure grasping the sensitivity of CA to their topology that relies on the concept of topological derivatives, which is introduced in this paper. The validity of the proposed methodology is illustrated for the 256 elementary CA and for a family of two-state irregular totalistic CA.  相似文献

This paper is composed of two complementary parts. The first part is a formal investigation into the interplay of properties of reciprocal relations, how monotonicity relates to some natural and intuitive properties, including stochastic transitivity. The goal is to aggregate monotone reciprocal relations on a given set of alternatives. Monotonicity is expressed w.r.t. a linear order on the set of alternatives. The second part is a practical protocol to both determine the best fitting linear order underlying the alternatives, and construct a reciprocal relation monotone w.r.t. it. We formulate the problem as an optimization problem, where the aggregated linear order is that for which the implied stochastic monotonicity conditions are closest to being satisfied by the distribution of the input monotone reciprocal relations. We show that if stochastic monotonicity conditions are satisfied, a monotone reciprocal relation is easily found on the basis of the (possibly constructed) stochastically monotone reciprocal distributional relation.  相似文献

When ranking objects (like chemicals, geographical sites, river sections, etc.) by multicriteria analysis, it is in most cases controversial and difficult to find a common scale among the criteria of concern. Therefore, ideally, one should not resort to such artificial additional constraints. The theory of partially ordered sets (or posets for short) provides a solid formal framework for the ranking of objects without assigning a common scale and/or weights to the criteria, and therefore constitutes a valuable alternative to traditional approaches. In this paper, we aim to give a comprehensive literature review on the topic. First we formalize the problem of ranking objects according to some predefined criteria. In this theoretical framework, we focus on several algorithms and illustrate them on a toy example. To conclude, a more realistic real-world application shows the power of some of the algorithms considered in this paper.  相似文献

The functional equations of Frank and Alsina for uninorms and nullnorms   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
The aim of this work is to study the functional equations of Frank and Alsina for two classes of commutative, associative and increasing binary operators. The first one is the class of uninorms introduced by Yager and Rybalov. The second one is the class of nullnorms arising from our study of the Frank equation for uninorms. Both classes contain t-norms and t-conorms as special cases. Moreover, the structure of the other uninorms and nullnorms is closely related to t-norms and t-conorms. These observations are the motivation for studying some generalizations of the Frank and Alsina equations. However, it is shown that all considerations lead back to the already known t-norm and t-conorm solutions. Important consequences in fuzzy preference modelling are pointed out.  相似文献
