Global Solutions of Nonlinear Magnetohydrodynamics with Large Initial Data   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A free boundary problem for nonlinear magnetohydrodynamics with general large initial data is investigated. The existence, uniqueness, and regularity of global solutions are established with large initial data in H1. It is shown that neither shock waves nor vacuum and concentration in the solutions are developed in a finite time, although there is a complex interaction between the hydrodynamic and magnetodynamic effects. An existence theorem of global solutions with large discontinuous initial data is also established.  相似文献

Several kinds of waveguide components such as curved waveguide bends, arbitrary angle waveguide bends and T-junctions have been analyzed with boundary element method in this paper. A new discretization method for the boundary element method to solve the waveguide discontinuities has been given. The numerical results obtained agree well with the experimental results and numerical results in other literature. Especially, the scattering characteristics of Forded E-, H-plane T-junctions in 3mm band have been analyzed using boundary element method and the calculation results are presented.  相似文献

In the present paper we generalize Eckhoff's method, i.e., the method for approximating the locations of discontinuities and the associated jumps of a piecewise smooth function by means of its Fourier-Chebyshev coefficients.

A new method enables us to approximate the locations of discontinuities and the associated jumps of a discontinuous function, which belongs to a restricted class of the piecewise smooth functions, by means of its Fourier-Jacobi coefficients for arbitrary indices. Approximations to the locations of discontinuities and the associated jumps are found as solutions of algebraic equations. It is shown as well that the locations of discontinuities and the associated jumps are recovered exactly for piecewise constant functions with a finite number of discontinuities.

In addition, we study the accuracy of the approximations and present some numerical examples.

In Part I [Int. J. Solids Struct., 2003], we described the implementation of the extended finite element method (X-FEM) within Dynaflow™, a standard finite element package. In our implementation, we focused on two-dimensional crack modeling in linear elasticity. For crack modeling in the X-FEM, a discontinuous function and the near-tip asymptotic functions are added to the finite element approximation using the framework of partition of unity. This permits the crack to be represented without explicitly meshing the crack surfaces and crack propagation simulations can be carried out without the need for any remeshing. In this paper, we present numerical solutions for the stress intensity factor for crack problems, and also conduct crack growth simulations with the X-FEM. Numerical examples are presented with a two-fold objective: first to show the efficacy of the X-FEM implementation in Dynaflow™; and second to demonstrate the accuracy and versatility of the method to solve challenging problems in computational failure mechanics.  相似文献

A numerical analytic method is proposed to solve nonstationary coupled problems of thermoelasticity with regard to the finite velocity of thermal waves. The method is used to analyze the nonstationary spatial propagation of elastic waves from a cavity subjected on its surface to mechanical and thermal loads. The ray theory of propagation of wavefield discontinuities is used. To determine the time dependence of the field parameters behind the wavefront and to account for the relationship between the mechanical and thermal fields with prescribed accuracy, a numerical iterative procedure that employs the properties of characteristics is used. Flow of a fluid through a porous medium is considered with allowance for heat conduction processes and phase transitions. Discontinuities in flows between both single-phase zones saturated with water and steam and single-and two-phase zones saturated with an equilibrium steam-water mixture are studied. It is shown that only the evaporation fronts are evolutionary for a convex-downward shock adiabat of the discontinuity inside the steam-water mixture. The structure of these fronts is considered and a condition supplementary to the conservation laws and necessary for the well-posed formulation of problems whose solution contains this front is found from the condition of existence of a discontinuity structure between the water (steam) and the steam-water mixture.  相似文献

In the space of orientation-preserving circle maps that are not necessarily surjective nor injective, the rotation number does not vary continuously. Each map where one of these discontinuities occurs is itself discontinuous and we can consider the possible values of the rotation number when we modify this map only at its discontinuities. These values are always rational numbers that necessarily obey a certain arithmetic relation. In this paper we show that in several examples this relation totally characterizes the possible values of the rotation number on its discontinuities, but we also prove that in certain circumstances this relation is not sufficient for this characterization.  相似文献

Optimized models for 90° polarization shift step twists for Ku, K and Ka bands are presented. The cross-section of the waveguide employed is similar to that of a rectangular one, with the difference that the walls of the shorter side are part of a circular one with the proper diameter. The optimized models have been found using the CST Microwave Studio simulation tool and in all cases the return loss is kept below -20 dB for a wide range of frequency spectrum. Two examples are given, one for Ku band and the other for K and Ka ones.  相似文献
