Commuting Involutions with Fixed Point Set of Variable Codimension

Special generators of the unoriented cobordism ring MO _* are constructed to determine some groups of cobordism classes in MO _n containing a representative M ⁿ admitting a (Z ₂) ^k -action with the fixed point set of (n−l _i )-dimensional submanifolds of M ⁿ . Inverse limits on using piecewise linear unimodal bonding maps

In this paper we investigate inverse limits on using a single bonding map chosen from a two-parameter family of piecewise linear unimodal bonding maps. This investigation focuses on the parameter values at the boundary between an hereditarily decomposable inverse limit and an inverse limit containing an indecomposable continuum.

     

Cyclically Presented Modules Over Rings of Finite Type

A ring is of finite type if it has only finitely many maximal right ideals, all two-sided. In this article, we give a complete set of invariants for finite direct sums of cyclically presented modules over a ring R of finite type. More generally, our results apply to finite direct sums of direct summands of cyclically presented right R-modules (DCP modules). Using a duality, we obtain as an application a similar set of invariants for kernels of morphisms between finite direct sums of pair-wise non-isomorphic indecomposable injective modules over an arbitrary ring. This application motivates the study of DCP modules.     

Gröbner-Shirshov Bases of Irreducible Modules of the Quantum Group of Type G2

First, the authors give a Grbner-Shirshov basis of the finite-dimensional irreducible module Vq(λ) of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group U_q(G_2) by using the double free module method and the known Grbner-Shirshov basis of U_q(G_2). Then, by specializing a suitable version of U_q(G_2) at q = 1, they get a Grbner-Shirshov basis of the universal enveloping algebra U(G_2) of the simple Lie algebra of type G_2 and the finite-dimensional irreducible U(G_2)-module V(λ).
