Three isotherms are considered: Frumkin's Bennes' and Mohilner's. The relationship between the interaction parameters in the first two and the adsorbate activity coefficient in the last is discussed. The significance of various standard states for the definition of ΔG° ads is analysed. The operational derivation of ΔG°ads in the three cases and the relationship between the resulting three quantities are illustrated. The isotherms have been used to describe the adsorption of 1,4-dioxane on a polarized Hg electrode. The analysis has been carried out both at constant potential and constant charge. The picture emerging in each of the three cases is discussed in the light of the results obtained in the other two. It is concluded that the three approaches give the same qualitative information about the interfacial behaviour of dioxane, especially as far as the effect of the electric field and the particle-particle lateral interaction are concerned. The usefulness of the Frumkin isotherm for analysing promptly experimental adsorption data is thus maintained. Limitations of the present approach are discussed.  相似文献

The Platinum Group Elements (PGEs) used in automotive catalytic converters are partly emitted into the air during use and can enter the human respiratory system. Due to the increasing use of automotive catalytic converters, the importance of this problem cannot be overlooked.The goal of this investigation was to determine the concentration of Pt in the urine of individuals occupationally exposed to urban air with heavy traffic. Sector field inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (SF–ICP–MS) was used for determination of Pt in the urine of tram drivers. 38 and 34 subjects were investigated in Vienna and Budapest, respectively. Samples were taken from the tram drivers both before and after the shift.The results for Pt were compared to those from a previous study performed by our team. The comparison showed that the concentration medians were 4 times higher than the previous ones. Moreover, the values in Budapest were about twice as high as those from Vienna. A partly significant change could be observed between the two sets of data: before, and after the shift.  相似文献

By means of a new Monte Carlo sampling of a grand canonical ensemble, we verify universality for the critical exponents and of two models of lattice trees constrained to be self-avoiding on sites or on bonds. The attrition constants are also obtained. This algorithm, a generalization of that recently proposed by Berretti and Sokal for random walks, appears to optimize the critical slowing down in the scaling region. DNA fragment analysis requires the use of polymer solutions as sieving matrices. Generally, such matrices are constituted of high-molar-weight polymers employed at a concentration higher than their entanglement threshold concentration. These polymer solutions are highly viscous and difficult to use in the narrow channels of a microchip. Ultralarge polyacrylamides synthesized via a nonconventional method, being the low-temperature plasma-induced polymerization (PIP), were used as DNA sieving matrices for microchip electrophoresis. The distinctive features of these polymers (ultralarge molecular mass and linearity) allow their use at a dilute concentration. Dilute PIP polyacrylamides revealed a constant value of resolution in a broad range of DNA fragment sizes (123 bp-1353 bp), thus proving to be effective in common genotyping applications. Moreover, the low viscosity of the dilute solutions enable it to be easier and faster in filling the channel between runs, thus enhancing the throughput of the microchip devices.  相似文献

In this paper a deeper insight into the chorismate-to prephenate-rearrangement, catalyzed by Bacillus subtilis chorismate mutase, is provided by means of a combination of statistical quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics simulation methods and hybrid potential energy surface exploration techniques. The main aim of this work is to present an estimation of the preorganization and reorganization terms of the enzyme catalytic rate enhancement. To analyze the first of these, we have studied different conformational equilibria of chorismate in aqueous solution and in the enzyme active site. Our conclusion is that chorismate mutase preferentially binds the reactive conformer of the substrate--that presenting a structure similar to the transition state of the reaction to be catalyzed--with shorter distances between the carbon atoms to be bonded and more diaxial character. With respect to the reorganization effect, an energy decomposition analysis of the potential energies of the reactive reactant and of the reaction transition state in aqueous solution and in the enzyme shows that the enzyme structure is better adapted to the transition structure. This means not only a more negative electrostatic interaction energy with the transition state but also a low enzyme deformation contribution to the energy barrier. Our calculations reveal that the structure of the enzyme is responsible for stabilizing the transition state structure of the reaction, with concomitant selection of the reactive form of the reactants. This is, the same enzymatic pattern that stabilizes the transition structure also promotes those reactant structures closer to the transition structure (i.e., the reactive reactants). In fact, both reorganization and preorganization effects have to be considered as the two faces of the same coin, having a common origin in the effect of the enzyme structure on the energy surface of the substrate.  相似文献

The effect of Mg addition to Pd impregnated silica-alumina catalysts and the behavior of these catalysts in synthesis gas to hydrocarbons transformation have been studied. Measurements of H2 chemisorption and temperature programmed NH3 desorption allow us to consider that Mg addition to Pd containing catalysts increases the Pd dispersity, the support acidity not being modified. The presence of Mg enhances hydrocarbon production. Meanwhile, the hydrocarbon distribution is not modified. A large amount of light alkanes in the reaction products is obtained.  相似文献

The thermodynamic properties G h o,H h o, and C p,h oassociated with the transfer of non-ionic organic compounds from gas to dilute aqueous solution and the limiting partial molar properties C p o ,2 and V2 2 of these compounds in water are described through a simple scheme of group contributions. A distinction is made between groups made only of carbon and hydrogen, and functional groups i.e. groups containing at least one atom different from carbon and hydrogen. Each group is assigned a contribution, for each property, through a least squares procedure which utilizes only molecules containing at most one functional group. Finally, for compounds containing more than one functional group, correction parameters are evaluated as the differences between the experimental values and those calculated by means of the group contributions. The different behavior of hydrophilic compared with hydrophobic groups is discussed for the various properties. A rationale for the correction parameters, i.e. for the effects of the interactions among hydrophilic groups on the thermodynamic properties, is attempted.  相似文献

Advances have been made recently in broadening the accessible ultrasonic absorption frequency range and improving the detectability of minor species present in solution using Raman spectroscopy. Development of chemometric techniques in these areas needs to keep pace with the improvement of these experimental methods. Refinements in the analysis of ultrasonic and Raman data based on multivariable least squares and factor analysis, respectively, are examined to investigate the kinetics of zinc thiocyanate complex formation in water. Analysis of ultrasonic absorption relaxation spectra verified that the observed process in aqueous Zn(SCN)2 involves substitution of water from the first coordination shell of Zn2+. Use of a multivariable least-squares error surface is described that enhances the reliability of assigned frequencies of ultrasonic absorption maxima. Factor analysis of Raman scattering data provided direct evidence that at least four complex species, such as Zn(SCN)+ and Zn(SCN)2, are simultaneously present in the aqueous zinc thiocyanate solutions.  相似文献

A non-destructive, fast and environmentally friendly procedure has been developed for cocaine determination in euro bank notes. Cocaine was extracted with 15 ml methanol by vortex agitation during 5 min. The extract was evaporated and reconstituted in 0.5 ml methanol. GC-MS-MS analysis was performed using as precursor ion m/z 182.2, with an excitation energy voltage of 1.60 eV, being the product ions measured m/z 150.2 and 82.0. A limit of detection of 0.15 ng per note and a repeatability of 6%, established from the relative standard deviation, of a 1 ng ml(-1) level, were achieved. Recoveries of 101+/-2 and 98+/-3% were obtained for samples spiked with 100 and 10 microg respectively. Results show that all the euro bank notes measured (16 samples) were contaminated with cocaine in the range between 1.25 and 889 microg. Two different contamination levels, high level (150-889 microg) and low one (1.25-77 microg) were found and it could be related with the direct or indirect contact with the drug.  相似文献
