Parameter dependence for a class of ordinary differential equations with measurable right‐hand side

The paper studies differential equations of the form u′(x) = f(x, u(x), λ(x)), u(x₀) = u₀, where the right‐hand side is merely measurable in x. In particular sufficient conditions for the continuous and the differentiable dependence of solution u on the data and on the parameter λ are stated. © 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Exponential convergence for high-order recurrent neural networks with a class of general activation functions

In this paper, we consider high-order recurrent neural networks with a class of general activation functions. By using some mathematical analysis techniques, we establish new results to ensure that all solutions of the networks converge exponentially to zero point.     

Uniqueness of post-gelation solutions of a class of coagulation equations

We prove well-posedness of global solutions for a class of coagulation equations which exhibit the gelation phase transition. To this end, we solve an associated partial differential equation involving the generating functions before and after the phase transition. Applications include the classical Smoluchowski and Flory equations with multiplicative coagulation rate and the recently introduced symmetric model with limited aggregations. For the latter, we compute the limiting concentrations and we relate them to random graph models.     

Positive solutions of systems of singular Hammerstein integral equations with applications to semilinear elliptic equations in annuli

The existence of multiple positive solutions of systems of singular Hammerstein integral equations is studied, where the nonlinearities involved are allowed to have singularities in their second variables and satisfy weaker conditions involving the first eigenvalues of the corresponding linear Hammerstein integral operators. Such systems contain some mathematical models arising in science and engineering. Applications are given to the existence of multiple positive radial solutions of systems of semilinear singular elliptic equations in annuli on which, to the best of our knowledge, there has been little study.     

Global asymptotic behaviour for a Nicholson model with patch structure and multiple delays

For a Nicholson’s blowflies model with patch structure and multiple discrete delays, we study some aspects of its global dynamics. Conditions for the absolute global asymptotic stability of both the trivial equilibrium and a positive equilibrium (when it exists) are given. The existence of positive heteroclinic solutions connecting the two equilibria is also addressed. We further consider a diffusive Nicholson-type model with patch structure, and establish a criterion for the existence of positive travelling wave solutions, for large wave speeds. Several applications illustrate the results, improving some criteria in the recent literature.     

Poly(amide-6-b-ethylene oxide)/SAPO-34 mixed ma-trix membrane for CO2separation

In this paper, poly（amide-6-b-ethylene oxide） （Pebax1657）/SAPO-34 mixed matrix membranes （MMMs） were prepared by solvent-evaporation method with acetic acid as a novel solvent. CO2, N2, CH4 and H2 permeation properties were investigated, and the physical properties of Pebax/SAPO-34 MMMs were characterized by XRD and SEM. At low SAPO-34 content, it was homogeneously distributed in the Pebax ma- trix, and then precipitated and agglomerated at high SAPO-34 content. The crystallinity of Pebax phase in Pebax/SAPO-34 MMMs decreased initially and then rebounded as a result of phase separation. With the increase of transmembrane pressure difference, CO2 permeability was en- hanced due to the effect of pressure-induced plasticization. Owing to the happening of stratification, the CO2 permeability of Pebax/SAPO-34 MMMs （50 wt% SAPO-34） increased to 338 Barrer from 111 Barrer of pristine Pebax, while the selectivities of CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2 were almost unchanged. Compared with the pristine Pebax, the gas separation performances of Pebax/SAPO-34 MMMs were remarkably enhanced.
