The behavior of the diameter of the coexistence curve in terms of the entropy and the corresponding diameter are investigated. It is shown that the diameter of the coexistence curve in terms of the entropy is sensitive to the change in the character of the rotational motion of the molecule in liquid phase which is governed by the short range correlations. The model of the compressible effective volume is proposed to describe the phase coexistence both in terms of the density and the entropy.  相似文献

We consider a plankton-nutrient interaction model consisting of phytoplankton, zooplankton and dissolved limiting nutrient with general nutrient uptake functions and instantaneous nutrient recycling. In this model, it is assumed that phytoplankton releases toxic chemical for self defense against their predators. The model system is studied analytically and the threshold values for the existence and stability of various steady states are worked out. It is observed that if the maximal zooplankton conversion rate crosses a certain critical value, the system enters into Hopf bifurcation. Finally it is observed that to control the planktonic bloom and to maintain stability around the coexistence equilibrium we have to control the nutrient input rate specially caused by artificial eutrophication. In case if it is not possible to control the nutrient input rate, one could use toxic phytoplankton to prevent the recurrence bloom.  相似文献

We perform bifurcation analysis in a complex Ginzburg–Landau system with delayed feedback under the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. We calculate the amplitude death region, and it turns out that the boundary of the amplitude death region consists of two Hopf bifurcation curves with wave number zero. The existence conditions for double Hopf bifurcations are established. Taking the feedback strength and time delay as bifurcation parameters, normal forms truncated to the third order at double Hopf singularity are derived, and the unfolding near the critical points is given. The bifurcation diagram near the double Hopf bifurcation is drawn in the two-parameter plane. The phenomena of amplitude death, the existence of stable bifurcating periodic solutions, and the coexistence of two stable periodic solutions with fast oscillation and slow oscillation respectively are simulated.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the dynamics of a two-species reaction–diffusion–advection competition model subject to the no-flux boundary condition in a bounded domain. By the signs of the associated principal eigenvalues, we derive the existence and local stability of the trivial and semi-trivial steady-state solutions. Moreover, the nonexistence and existence of the coexistence steady-state solutions stemming from the two boundary steady states are obtained as well. In particular, we describe the feature of the coincidence of bifurcating coexistence steady-state solution branches. At the same time, the effect of advection on the stability of the bifurcating solution is also investigated, and our results suggest that the advection term may change the stability. Finally, we point out that the methods we applied here are mainly based on spectral analysis, perturbation theory, comparison principle, monotone theory, Lyapunov–Schmidt reduction, and bifurcation theory.  相似文献

This paper is concerned about the S–K–T competition model with spatially heterogeneous interactions, in which the two competing species are identical in all aspects except for their interspecific competitions. Under small variations of interspecific competitions, a good understanding of the dynamics and the structure of the set of steady states is gained by the Lyapunov–Schmidt procedure and detailed analysis. The results reveal that the role that the spatial heterogeneity plays in the coexistence of the competing species can be rather interesting and complicated. Either stable or unstable coexistence state can be produced by suitable spatial heterogeneity, so the spatial heterogeneity can be either favorable or unfavorable for the coexistence of competing species.  相似文献
