The ergodic behavior of a linear diatomic chain is shown to be analogous to that of a linear monatomic chain. Starting with the expressions for the time-relaxed correlation functions between any two particles in the chain, we show that the existence of Poincaré cycles is not inconsistent with the development of an equilibrium state. Also, we show that those dynamical variables that are ergodic for the linear monoatomic chain remain ergodic in the diatomic chain. Amplified low-repetition-rate fs pulse is generated with dye laser amplifier(DLA). The pulsewidth is measured with a computer-aided autocorrelator and the fs pulsewidth broadening caused by the dispersion of the DLA is analyzed. Furthermore, the autocorrelator introduced in this paper could be used as a low scanning autocorrelator to measure high-repetition-rate pulsewidth.  相似文献

This paper presents an extension of the analysis shown in Part I to a polydisperse particle-fluid system. The density autocorrelation is shown to be a function of two quantities, a generalized Overlap function for which an analytical expression is derived, and the radial distribution function (RDF). In Fourier transform space, the density spectrum again appears to be a strong function of the mean particle size, and secondarily the mean particle separation distance. One unusual result is previously observed oscillations in the density spectrum of a monodisperse system of particles are severely dampened or even eliminated in the polydisperse case, depending on the width of the particle size distribution. Apparently contributions from different particle correlations interfere with each other, thereby reducing the coherent oscillations seen in the monodisperse particle-fluid system. Furthermore at large wavenumbers, the spectrum decays with a −2 power-law, independent of the shape of the particle size distribution. This behavior can be traced to the Overlap function which controls the behavior of the spectrum beyond the first peak. Remarkably the −2 power-law spectrum is determined by the shape of the particles (i.e. spheres) rather than their spatial distribution (RDF).

The effect of an asymptotically large pressure gradient on the correlation of several important higher-order moments is revisited for the polydisperse system. The relatively simple relationships developed for the monodisperse system are lost in the polydisperse case because particles of different sizes will be influenced differently by an applied pressure gradient. The result is moments that are of different order in velocity can no longer be related to each other (as they were in the monodisperse system), even in this idealized flow. A more comprehensive understanding of this phenomenon can only be achieved through direct numerical simulation or experiment.  相似文献

基于批量-均值法的思想,向量自回归(VAR)控制图对多变量自相关过程的较小偏移可以进行有效控制。为了提高多变量自相关过程监控效率,本文研究可变抽样区间的VAR控制图。首先,对多变量自相关过程的VAR控制图进行可变抽样区间设计;然后,用蒙特卡洛模拟方法计算其平均报警时间;最后,以平均报警时间为评价准则,对所设计的可变抽样区间VAR控制图与固定抽样区间的VAR控制图进行比较研究。研究结果表明:所设计的可变抽样区间多变量自相关过程VAR控制图较固定抽样区间的多变量自相关过程VAR控制图能更好的监控过程的变化。  相似文献

For longitudinal data, the modeling of a correlation matrix ?R can be a difficult statistical task due to both the positive definite and the unit diagonal constraints. Because the number of parameters increases quadratically in the dimension, it is often useful to consider a sparse parameterization. We introduce a pair of prior distributions on the set of correlation matrices for longitudinal data through the partial autocorrelations (PACs), which vary independently over (?1,1). The first prior shrinks each of the PACs toward zero with increasingly aggressive shrinkage in lag. The second prior (a selection prior) is a mixture of a zero point mass and a continuous component for each PAC, allowing for a sparse representation. The structure implied under our priors is readily interpretable for time-ordered responses because each zero PAC implies a conditional independence relationship in the distribution of the data. Selection priors on the PACs provide a computationally attractive alternative to selection on the elements of ?R or ?R? 1 for ordered data. These priors allow for data-dependent shrinkage/selection under an intuitive parameterization in an unconstrained setting. The proposed priors are compared to standard methods through a simulation study and illustrated using a multivariate probit data example. The utilization of thermal fluctuations or Johnson/Nyquist noise as a spectroscopic method to determine transport properties in conductors or semiconductors is developed. The autocorrelation function is obtained from power spectral density measurements thus enabling electronic transport property calculation through the Green–Kubo formalism. This experimental approach is distinct from traditional numerical methods such as molecular dynamics simulations, which have been used to extract the autocorrelation function and directly related physics only. This work reports multi-transport property measurements consisting of the electronic relaxation time, resistivity, mobility, diffusion coefficient, electronic contribution to thermal conductivity and Lorenz number from experimental data. Double validation of the experiment was accomplished through the use of a standard reference material and a standard measurement method, i.e. four-probe collinear resistivity technique. Thermal noise measurements resulted in a 1.1 and 5% agreement with the reference material and four-probe values, respectively. Additional measurements were also taken on nanoscale Au and Cu thin films. Specifically, the validated spectroscopic methodology was applied to 30 nm Au and Cu thin films to obtain transport property data that was again compared to four-probe resistivity measurements. Comparative analysis of the resistivity data showed agreement within 13.6 and 4.8% for the Au and Cu samples, respectively, thus lending further credibility to the experimental method and theory.  相似文献
