The linear optical (LO) and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of a series of isocyanurates functionalized by donor arms at the periphery are reported herein. These octupolar derivatives were obtained in a straightforward way from commercial isocyanate derivatives and were fully characterized. Although several of these compounds are known, those that exhibited the largest NLO activities are all new compounds. In terms of second‐order activity, several of these derivatives exhibit remarkable activity/transparency tradeoffs. In terms of third‐order activity, the longer derivatives with the stronger donor groups (X=NH2, NMe2, or NPh2) were shown to possess significant two‐photon absorption cross sections. These strongly luminescent derivatives exhibit two‐photon absorption cross sections up to 410 GM. DFT computations were also conducted to unravel their electronic structures and to rationalize their NLO properties. To our knowledge, the present study is the first concerned with the nonlinear optical properties of these original cyclotrimers.  相似文献

Two novel cyclotriphosphazene ligands ( 2 and 3 ) bearing 3‐oxypyridine groups and their corresponding Ru(II) complexes ( 4 and 5 ) were synthesized and their structures were characterized using Fourier transform infrared, 1H NMR and 31P NMR spectroscopic data and elemental analysis. The Ru(II) complexes were used as catalysts for catalytic transfer hydrogenation of p‐substituted acetophenone derivatives in the presence of KOH. Additionally, the cytotoxic activities of compounds 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 were evaluated against PC3 (human prostate cancer), DLD‐1 (human colorectal cancer), HeLa (human cervical cancer) and PNT1A (normal human prostate) cell lines. Finally the antimicrobial activities of compounds 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 were evaluated against a panel of Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria and yeast cultures. The complexes showed efficient catalytic activity towards transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone derivatives, especially those bearing electron‐withdrawing substituents on the para‐position of the aryl ring. The compounds were found to have moderate to high cytotoxic and antimicrobial activities, and Ru(II) complexation enhanced both cytotoxic and antimicrobial activities in comparison with the parent compounds. In this study, for the first time, the electro-polymerization of Direct blue15 (DB15), an azo dye, was carried out on the surface of ITO. Furthermore, the poly(DB15) surface was electrochemically decorated with Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs), and the fabricated AgNPs/PDB15 electrodes were examined as nitrate sensors. Compared to unmodified ITO electrode, the AgNPs/PDB15 electrode had greatly improved electrochemical response to nitrate reduction. The nitrate determination in a linear range from 1.0×10−5 mol L−1 to 2.27×10−3 mol L−1 was performed with a detection limit of 9.66 μM. The synthesized electrode is a promising sensor for the electrochemical detection of nitrate pollutants in water.  相似文献

In this study, intermittent drying behavior of single layer rough rice with a moisture content of between 22 and 24% on the dry basis was simulated by means of a liquid diffusion model based on a prolate spheroid geometry. For this purpose, solution of the liquid diffusion equation was fitted to the experimental data for the drying air temperature 40°C, drying velocity 1.5 ms−1 and tempering periods ranging from 0 to 1 h. In order to make a comparison, solution of the liquid diffusion equation for a finite cylindrical geometry was also fitted to the experimental data. The results show that the liquid diffusion model based on a prolate spheroid geometry explains the drying behavior of rough rice more accurately. The results also show that greater variations occur in diffusion coefficient with increasing tempering time for prolate spheroid geometry which is more realistic geometry for a rough rice grain.

In this study, we demonstrate how the diffusion of probe particles in aqueous poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) solutions and gels is affected by: (i) the presence of cross-links, (ii) the cross-link density, (iii) the polymer concentration. We apply fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) to measure the diffusion time of a rhodamine-based fluorescent particle (TAMRA) and TAMRA-labeled dextran in PVA solutions and gels prepared at various polymer concentrations (1% to 8.6% w/v) and cross-link densities (1/400 to 1/50 cross-link monomers per PVA monomers). The measurements indicate that the probe particles are slowed down with increasing polymer concentration and with increasing cross-link density. Also, FCS can detect differences in the diffusion times measured in “fresh” and “aged” PVA solutions. We find that FCS provides a quantitative measure of network inhomogeneities.  相似文献
