Two new sesquiterpene lactones from Sonchus arvensis

Two new sesquiterpene lactones, 1β,15-diacetoxy-5,7α,6,11β(H)-eudesm-3,4-en-6,12-olide (1) and 1β-hydroxy-3,4-en-15-O-β-glucopyranosyl-5,7α,6,11β(H)-eudesman-6,12-olide (2), were isolated from Sonchus arvensis L. (Asteraceae), together with ten known compounds. Their structures were elucidated through spectroscopic and chemical methods. All these known compounds except oleanolic acid (11) were isolated from the genus Sonchus for the first time. Selected new compounds were evaluated for antibacterial activity; unfortunately, they showed weak or no activities against Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175.     

Preparation, characterization and catalytic properties of singly and doubly titanium-modified mesoporous silica gel

A series of titanium-modified mesoporous silica gel have been synthesized using tetrabutyl titanate. The samples were characterized by nitrogen adsorption-desorption, FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy, as well as by solid state diffuse reflectance UV-VIS spectroscopy. Physicochemical characterization of the materials showed that Ti atoms were part of the framework of silica gel, and it was probably in a tetrahedral coordination for low Ti contents. The resulting titania modified the inner walls of the mesoporous silica gel after hydrolysis and calcination. Actually, the titanium precursor reacted and condensed with the active silanol groups on silica gel via Si-O-Ti bonds. In addition, the titanium-modified mesoporous silica gel showed distinct activity behavior in the catalytic oxidation of cyclohexene and styrene with hydrogen peroxide as oxidant.     

Permanent recording of light helicity on optically inactive metal surfaces

We report on an unusual permanent recording of light helicity on optically achiral metals. Following a number of circularly polarized (CP) or elliptically polarized (EP) femtosecond laser pulses, well-defined periodic surface structures are found on metal surfaces. These surface structures show different orientation when formed by left CP/EP compared with right CP/EP light. The formation of these structures is attributed to the interference between the incident light and the excited surface plasmons. To our knowledge, this is the only phenomenon that can permanently record light helicity with an optically inactive material.     

一类热弹性板的空间衰减估计

研究了二维空间中半无限带形区域上一类含有双调和算子的热弹性系统板解的空间性质.首先构造一个能量表达式,然后利用微分不等式技术,推导出该能量表达式是可由它本身的一阶导数控制的微分不等式,最后得到解的空间衰减估计.该结果可看成是Saint-Venant原则在双曲抛物耦合双调和方程组上的应用.     

Matrix-assisted laser ablation production of gold cluster ions from Au-coated photonic crystals

A new strategy was explored to generate pure gold cluster ions, Au(n)(+/-), from gold films deposited on solid substrates via a matrix-assisted laser ablation technique. The gold films deposited on SiO(2)-particle-assembled photonic crystals were demonstrated to be the most ideal compared with the films deposited on various glass slides. Dropped with a matrix of 2-(4-hydroxyphenylazo) benzoic acid and bombarded by nitrogen pulse laser (355 nm), they could release a series of Au(n)(+) with n more than 110 or Au(n)(-) with n more than 60 according to the data obtained by inline time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The gold-deposited photonic crystal substrates could be stored at room temperature for at least 6 months. The method is hence steady and convenient in use.     

含银偏振玻璃的制备及光学性能

研究了拉伸还原法制备含银Ｒ２Ｏ－Ｂ２Ｏ３－Ａｌ２Ｏ３－ＳｉＯ２系统偏振玻璃的工艺,得到了工艺波段在６００￣１４００ｎｍ、透光度９０％、消光比１６２：１的玻璃偏振片,着重探讨了拉伸比对偏光性能的影响,并对偏振机理作出了解释。
