A novel acoustic emission (AE) source localization approach based on beamforming with two uniform linear arrays is proposed, which can localize acoustic sources without accurate velocity, and is particularly suited for plate-like structures. Two uniform line arrays are distributed in the x-axis direction and y-axis direction. The accurate x and y coordinates of AE source are determined by the two arrays respectively. To verify the location accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed approach, the simulation of AE wave propagation in a steel plate based on the finite element method and the pencil-lead-broken experiment are conducted, and the AE signals obtained from the simulations and experiments are analyzed using the proposed method. Moreover, to study the ability of the proposed method more comprehensive, a plate of carbon fiber reinforced plastics is taken for the pencil-lead-broken test, and the AE source localization is also realized. The results indicate that the two uniform linear arrays can localize different sources accurately in two directions even though the localizing velocity is deviated from the real velocity, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method in AE source localization for plate-like structures.  相似文献

A model Hamiltonian is proposed for the localization–delocalization transition in quantum dots. By considering most relevant degrees of freedom, we obtain a finite dimensional Hilbert space. Through exact diagonalization, we find the ground state energies of the system as the number of electrons is varied. This explains the peculiar pattern of the electron addition energies, which are measured as a function of the top and side gate voltages.  相似文献

Magnetic-impurity-scattering effects in a quasi-2D disordered electron system have been investigated theoretically with the diagrammatic techniques in perturbation theory. The analytical expressions for magnetoconductivities due to weak-localization effects have been obtained as functions of elastic, inelastic and magnetic scattering times. The relevant dimensional crossover behavior from 3D to 2D with decreasing the interlayer coupling has been discussed, and the condition for the crossover has been obtained. We study localization properties of disordered bosons and spins in random fields at zero temperature. We focus on two representatives of different symmetry classes, hard-core bosons (XY magnets) and Ising magnets in random transverse fields, and contrast their physical properties. We describe localization properties using a locator expansion on general lattices. For 1d Ising chains, we find non-analytic behavior of the localization length as a function of energy at ω=0ω=0, ξ−1(ω)=ξ−1(0)+A|ω|αξ1(ω)=ξ1(0)+A|ω|α, with αα vanishing at criticality. This contrasts with the much smoother behavior predicted for XY magnets. We use these results to approach the ordering transition on Bethe lattices of large connectivity KK, which mimic the limit of high dimensionality. In both models, in the paramagnetic phase with uniform disorder, the localization length is found to have a local maximum at ω=0ω=0. For the Ising model, we find activated scaling at the phase transition, in agreement with infinite randomness studies. In the Ising model long range order is found to arise due to a delocalization and condensation initiated at ω=0ω=0, without a closing mobility gap. We find that Ising systems establish order on much sparser (fractal) subgraphs than XY models. Possible implications of these results for finite-dimensional systems are discussed.  相似文献

For nearly a half century the dominant orthodoxy has been that the only effect of the Cooper pairing is the state with zero resistivity at finite temperatures, superconductivity. In this work we demonstrate that by the symmetry of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle relating the amplitude and phase of the superconducting order parameter, Cooper pairing can generate the dual state with zero conductivity in the finite temperature range, superinsulation. We show that this duality realizes in the planar Josephson junction arrays (JJA) via the duality between the Berezinskii–Kosterlitz–Thouless (BKT) transition in the vortex–antivortex plasma, resulting in phase-coherent superconductivity below the transition temperature, and the charge-BKT transition occurring in the insulating state of JJA and marking formation of the low-temperature charge-BKT state, superinsulation. We find that in disordered superconducting films that are on the brink of superconductor–insulator transition the Coulomb forces between the charges acquire two-dimensional character, i.e. the corresponding interaction energy depends logarithmically upon charge separation, bringing the same vortex-charge-BKT transition duality, and realization of superinsulation in disordered films as the low-temperature charge-BKT state. Finally, we discuss possible applications and utilizations of superconductivity–superinsulation duality.  相似文献

We have performed optically detected resonance (ODR) spectroscopy on modulation-doped GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells of different widths in which lateral fluctuations of the well width were purposely introduced by growth interruption at the interfaces. These monolayer fluctuations form quantum dots for which confinement and Coulomb correlation energies are comparable. By monitoring resonant changes of the dot ensemble photoluminescence induced by far-infrared (FIR) radiation in a magnetic field, we have observed cyclotron resonance (CR) of free electrons in the widest wells, as well as internal transitions of mobile and localized charged excitons. The latter, which are forbidden by magnetic translational invariance, have previously not been observed. For the narrower wells the effects of non-parabolicity and carrier localization on the CR and CR-like transitions have to be included for a proper interpretation of the measurements.  相似文献

We study the localization length lc of a pair of two attractively bound particles moving in a one-dimensional random potential. We show in which way it depends on the interaction potential between the constituents of this composite particle. For a pair with many bound states N the localization length is proportional to N, independently of the form of the two particle interaction. For the case of two bound states, we present an exact solution for the corresponding Fokker–Planck equation and demonstrate that lc depends sensitively on the shape of the interaction potential and the symmetry of the bound state wave functions.  相似文献

We propose a behavioral modeling that takes into account the thermomechanical couplings accompanying the phase transition in single-crystal CuZnAl samples. The goal of this model is to put forward the significant role played by the heat diffusion in the propagation mode of the phase change fronts. Numerical simulations showed the existence of such a phase change front and predicted the calorimetric and kinematic effects accompanying its propagation. In particular, an inversion of the propagation way during a creep test and caused by an increase of the room temperature was correctly simulated by the model. To cite this article: A. This article presents an overview of recent advances in the study of electron pairing through the use of localization and delocalization indices obtained from double integration over atomic basins of the exchange–correlation density in the framework of the atoms-in-molecules theory. These localization and delocalization indices describe the intra- and interatomic distribution of the electron pairs in a molecule. The main results of the application of these second-order indices to the analysis of molecular structure and chemical reactivity are briefly reviewed. It is shown that localization and delocalization indices represent a powerful tool to describe the electron-pair structure of molecules, which, in turn, provides deeper insight into relevant chemical phenomena such as electron correlation effects and the formation of localized α, β electron pairs. We consider the effect of Coulomb interactions on the average density of states (DOS) of disordered low-dimensional metals for temperatures T and frequencies ω smaller than the inverse elastic life-time 1/τ. Using the fact that long-range Coulomb interactions in two dimensions (2d) generate ln2-singularities in the DOS ν(ω) but only ln-singularities in the conductivity σ(ω), we can re-sum the most singular contributions to the average DOS via a simple gauge-transformation. If σ(ω) > 0, then a metallic Coulomb gapν(ω) ∝ |ω|/e 4 appears in the DOS at T = 0 for frequencies below a certain crossover frequency Ω 2 which depends on the value of the DC conductivity σ(0). Here, - e is the charge of the electron. Naively adopting the same procedure to calculate the DOS in quasi 1d metals, we find ν(ω) ∝ (|ω|/Ω 1)1/2exp(- Ω 1/|ω|) at T = 0, where Ω 1 is some interaction-dependent frequency scale. However, we argue that in quasi 1d the above gauge-transformation method is on less firm grounds than in 2d. We also discuss the behavior of the DOS at finite temperatures and give numerical results for the expected tunneling conductance that can be compared with experiments.
