Application of Hilbert＇s Projective Metric on Symmetric Cones

Let Ω be a symmetric cone. In this note, we introduce Hilbert＇s projective metric on Ω in terms of Jordan algebras and we apply it to prove that, given a linear invertible transformation g such that g（Ω） = Ω and a real number p, ｜p｜ 〉 1, there exists a unique element x ∈ Ω satisfying g（x） = x^p.

Electrical properties of neodymium doped CaBi4Ti4O15 ceramics

Neodymium doped bismuth layer structure ferroelectrics (BLSFs) ceramics CaBi_4−xNd_xTi₄O₁₅ (x=0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75) were prepared by solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction pattern showed that single phase was formed when x=0-0.75. The refined lattice parameters showed that a (b) axes decrease at x=0.25 and increase with more Nd³⁺ dopant. The effects of Nd³⁺ doping on the dielectric and ferroelectric properties of CaBi₄Ti₄O₁₅ ceramics are studied. Nd³⁺ dopant decreased the Curie temperature linearly, and the dielectric loss, tan δ, as well. The remnant polarization of Nd³⁺ doped CaBi₄Ti₄O₁₅ ceramics was increased by 80% at x=0.25, while more Nd³⁺ dopant decreased the remnant polarization. CaBi_3.75Nd_0.25Ti₄O₁₅ ceramics had the largest piezoelectric constant d₃₃. The structure and properties of CaBi_4−xNd_xTi₄O₁₅ ceramics showed that Nd³⁺ may occupy different crystal locations when Nd³⁺ content x is less than 0.25 and more than 0.50.     

Partially isometric dilations of noncommuting -tuples of operators

Given a row contraction of operators on a Hilbert space and a family of projections on the space that stabilizes the operators, we show there is a unique minimal joint dilation to a row contraction of partial isometries that satisfy natural relations. For a fixed row contraction the set of all dilations forms a partially ordered set with a largest and smallest element. A key technical device in our analysis is a connection with directed graphs. We use a Wold decomposition for partial isometries to describe the models for these dilations, and we discuss how the basic properties of a dilation depend on the row contraction.

     

SPME-GC-MS快速分析炼油厂废水中痕量VOCs

采用固相微萃取-气相色谱-质谱联用(SPME-GC-MS)对炼油厂废水中痕量挥发性有机化合物(VOCs)进行了定性分析,简化了预处理过程,总分析时间为1h左右.对比处理前后的废水样品的MS定性结果,为废水处理工艺的评价以及有机物降解机理提供了依据.

Synthesis and refractive‐index control of fluoropolymers by the polyaddition of bis(epoxide)s and triazine di(aryl ether)s

The polyaddition of fluorine‐containing bis(epoxide)s and fluorine‐containing triazine di(aryl ether)s were examined to give the corresponding fluorine‐containing poly(cyanurate)s. It was observed that the synthesized fluoropolymers had good thermal stabilities and good film‐forming properties. The glass transition temperatures (T_g's) and refractive‐indices (n_D's) of synthesized polymers were determined by differential scanning calorimetry and ellipsometry, respectively, and it was found that the values of T_g's and n_D's were supported by their fluorine containing ratios and skeletons. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Given the operator product BA in which both A and B are symmetric positive‐definite operators, for which symmetric positive‐definite operators C is BA symmetric positive‐definite in the C inner product 〈x, y〉C? An exact formalism for the relativistic version of Landau theory of Fermi liquid in presence of strong quantizing magnetic field is developed. Both direct and exchange type interactions with scalar and vector coupling cases are considered.     

On topological properties of the Hartman-Mycielski functor

We investigate some topological properties of a normal functorH introduced earlier by Radul which is some functorial compactification of the Hartman-Mycielski construction HM. We prove that the pair (H X, HMY) is homeomorphic to the pair (Q, σ) for each nondegenerated metrizable compactumX and each denseσ-compact subsetY.
