On rings asymptotically close to associative rings

The subject of this work is an extension of A. R. Kemer’s results to a rather broad class of rings close to associative rings, over a field of characteristic 0 (in particular, this class includes the varieties generated by finite-dimensional alternative and Jordan rings). We prove the finite-basedness of systems of identities (the Specht property), the representability of finitely-generated relatively free algebras, and the rationality of their Hilbert series. For this purpose, we extend the Razymslov-Zubrilin theory to Kemer polynomials. For a rather broad class of varieties, we prove Shirshov’s theorem on height.     

Theorems of the alternative and optimality conditions

A theorem of the alternative is stated for generalized systems. It is shown how to deduce, from such a theorem, known optimality conditions like saddle-point conditions, regularity conditions, known theorems of the alternative, and new ones. Exterior and interior penalty approaches, weak and strong duality are viewed as weak and strong alternative, respectively.     

Generalized Motzkin Theorems of the Alternative and Vector Optimization Problems

In this paper, we introduce a definition of generalized convexlike functions (preconvexlike functions). Then, under the weakened convexity, we study vector optimization problems in Hausdorff topological linear spaces. We establish some generalized Motzkin theorems of the alternative. By use of these theorems of the alternative, we obtain some Lagrangian multiplier theorems. A saddle-point theorem and a scalarization theorem are also derived.Communicated by F. A Leray-Schauder type theorem for approximable maps: a simple proof

We present a simple and direct proof for a Leray-Schauder type alternative for a large class of condensing or compact set-valued maps containing convex as well as nonconvex maps.

Fredholm alternative and boundary value problems

This note presents a simple proof of A. Lasota's application of the nonlinear Fredholm alternative to the existence proofs of the boundary value problems involving ordinary differential equations. It then uses Lasota's result to get a stronger version of the theorem of Herzog and Lemmert on the Dirichlet boundary value problem for the second-order systems of ordinary differential equations.

The generalized projection operator on reflexive Banach spaces and its applications

In this paper, we extend the definition of the generalized projection operator , where B is a reflexive Banach space with dual space B^∗ and K is a nonempty, closed and convex subset of B and we study its properties and applications to solving variational inequality.
