Construction of pseudo-gradient vector field and sign-changing multiple solutions involving p-Laplacian

Existence of multiple and sign-changing solutions for a problem involving p-Laplacian and jumping nonlinearities are considered via the construction of descent flow in . Sign-changing and multiple solutions are obtained under additional assumption on the nonlinearity. The uniqueness of positive (negative) solution theorem is included too.     

Opers and theta functions

We construct natural maps (the Klein and Wirtinger maps) from moduli spaces of semistable vector bundles over an algebraic curve X to affine spaces, as quotients of the nonabelian theta linear series. We prove a finiteness result for these maps over generalized Kummer varieties (moduli space of torus bundles), leading us to conjecture that the maps are finite in general. The conjecture provides canonical explicit coordinates on the moduli space. The finiteness results give low-dimensional parametrizations of Jacobians (in 70803000690-si1.gif"> for generic curves), described by 2Θ functions or second logarithmic derivatives of theta.We interpret the Klein and Wirtinger maps in terms of opers on X. Opers are generalizations of projective structures, and can be considered as differential operators, kernel functions or special bundles with connection. The matrix opers (analogues of opers for matrix differential operators) combine the structures of flat vector bundle and projective connection, and map to opers via generalized Hitchin maps. For vector bundles off the theta divisor, the Szegö kernel gives a natural construction of matrix oper. The Wirtinger map from bundles off the theta divisor to the affine space of opers is then defined as the determinant of the Szegö kernel. This generalizes the Wirtinger projective connections associated to theta characteristics, and the associated Klein bidifferentials.     

Fourier-Jacobi type spherical functions for principal series representations of Sp(2, R)

In this paper, we study the Fourier-Jacobi type spherical functions on Sp(2, R) for irreducible principal series representations. We give the multiplicity theorem and an explicit formula for this function.     

Triangle Factors In Sparse Pseudo-Random Graphs

The goal of the paper is to initiate research towards a general, Blow-up Lemma type embedding statement for pseudo-random graphs with sublinear degrees. In particular, we show that if the second eigenvalue of a d-regular graph G on 3n vertices is at most cd ³/n ² log n, for some sufficiently small constant c > 0, then G contains a triangle factor. We also show that a fractional triangle factor already exists if < 0.1d ²/n. Solution of the Truncated Parabolic Moment Problem

On tame weakly symmetric algebras having only periodic modules

We classify (up to Morita equivalence) all tame weakly symmetric finite dimensional algebras over an algebraically closed field having simply connected Galois coverings, nonsingular Cartan matrices and the stable Auslander-Reiten quivers consisting only of tubes. In particular, we prove that these algebras have at most four simple modules.Received: 25 February 2002

Further investigation into the properties of the Peirce-one space J₁ corresponding to a weak^*-closed inner ideal J in a JBW^*-triple A is carried out, and, in particular, it is shown that J₁ contains no non-trivial weak^*-closed ideals.Received: 12 June 2002     

Stability and linear oscillations of liquid bridges with varied boundary conditions under zero gravity

This article deals with stability and small linear oscillations of liquid bridges between fixed solid surfaces (parallel plates, spheres, ...) under zero gravity. A general investigation method for any kind of axisymmetric liquid bridge is exposed but the author focus his work on the spherical liquid bridge cases. In particular, he exposes a full theoretical study of spherical liquid bridges between two spheres, plates and cones.
