Decay properties of levels of 86Sr populated by the 28 MeV 84Kr(α, 2nγ) reaction have been studied by in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy. The observation of several new levels with allows a detailed comparison of the 2p-2n structures of 86Sr with those of neighboring N = 48 nuclei. In high energye + e ? annihilations, events with jets dominate. Since heavy quark jets often contain undetectable neutrinos, methods of jet analysis are needed to study such events. An effective method in targeting alpha-aryl malonates is reported. In the presence of a catalytic amount of 2-picolinic acid and CuI, the coupling of aryl iodides with diethyl malonate proceeds smoothly even at room temperature. Two new noncentrosymmetric (NCS) polar oxide materials, Zn(2)(MoO(4))(AO(3)) (A = Se(4+) or Te(4+)), have been synthesized by hydrothermal and solid-state techniques. Their crystal structures have been determined, and characterization of their functional properties (second-harmonic generation, piezoelectricity, and polarization) has been performed. The isostructural materials exhibit a three-dimensional network consisting of ZnO(4), ZnO(6), MoO(4), and AO(3) polyhedra that share edges and corners. Powder second-harmonic generation (SHG) measurements using 1064 nm radiation indicate the materials exhibit moderate SHG efficiencies of 100 × and 80 × α-SiO(2) for Zn(2)(MoO(4))(SeO(3)) and Zn(2)(MoO(4))(TeO(3)), respectively. Particle size vs SHG efficiency measurements indicate the materials are type 1 non-phase-matchable. Converse piezoelectric measurements resulted in d(33) values of ~14 and ~30 pm/V for Zn(2)(MoO(4))(SeO(3)) and Zn(2)(MoO(4))(TeO(3)), respectively, whereas pyroelectric measurements revealed coefficients of -0.31 and -0.64 μC/m(2) K at 55 °C for Zn(2)(MoO(4))(SeO(3)) and Zn(2)(MoO(4))(TeO(3)), respectively. Frequency-dependent polarization measurements confirmed that all of the materials are nonferroelectric; that is, the macroscopic polarization is not reversible, or "switchable". Infrared, UV-vis, thermogravimetric, and differential thermal analysis measurements were also performed. First-principles density functional theory (DFT) electronic structure calculations were also done. Organelle‐specific cell‐permeable fluorescent dyes are invaluable tools in cell biology as they reveal intracellular dynamics in living cells. Mitrotracker is a family of dyes that strongly label the mitochondrion, a key organelle associated with many crucial cellular functions. Despite the popularity of these dyes, little is known about the molecular mechanism behind their staining specificity. Here, we aimed to identify the protein targets of one member of this dye family, mitotracker red (MTR), by 2DE and MS. MTR bound to cellular proteins covalently, and its fluorescence persisted even after cell lysis, protein solubilization, denaturation, and electrophoresis. This enabled us to display MTR‐labeled proteins by 2DE. The MTR‐specific fluorescent signals on the gel revealed the spots that contained MTR‐conjugated proteins. These spots were analyzed by MS, resulting into the identification of ten proteins. We discovered that one major target is the mitochondrial protein HSP60 and that MTR staining could induce production of HSP60, predisposing cells to heat shock‐like responses. The identification of the molecular targets of biological dyes, or “stainomics,” can help correlate their intracellular staining properties with biochemical affinities. We believe this approach can be applied to a wide range of fluorescent probes. 相似文献

An eco-friendly reaction for the preparation of thioglycosides has been developed using an ionic liquid as the solvent. Thioglycosides were obtained in excellent yields on treatment of per-O-acetylated sugar derivatives with thiols in the presence of boron trifluoride diethyl etherate in [Bmim][BF4] as solvent at 20°C. Abstract The 31P nmr spectra of 2,4- and 2,6-diamino-derivatives of octachlorocyclotetraphosphazatetraene, N4P4Cl6(NR1R2)2 (R1 = H, R2 = But; R1 = H, R2 = CH2Ph; R1 = Me, R2 = Ph), have been measured. A 6-μm-thick, dense, and uniform yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) thin-film electrolyte for solid oxide fuel cell was able to be formed, via aqueous electrophoretic deposition, onto a porous Ni-YSZ cermet anode, which was made via attrition mill, pressure casting, and pressureless sintering. Nonconductive yet suitably porous substrates could be used for electrophoretic deposition, with the help of an auxiliary electrode. Ni/YSZ cermet presintered at 1,200 °C and reduced at 700 °C, on the other hand, behaved like a metal electrode and required no more the use of such an auxiliary electrode. It was also found that the deposition rate increased with increasing current density and with decreasing NH4-polyacrylate concentration. 相似文献
