The relaxation dynamics of dipropylene glycol and tripropylene glycol (nPG-n=2,3) water solutions on the nPG-rich side has been studied by broadband dielectric spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry in the temperature range of 130-280 K. Two relaxation processes are observed for all the hydration levels; the slower process (I) is related to the alpha relaxation of the solution whereas the faster one (II) is associated with the reorientation of water molecules in the mixture. Dielectric data for process (II) at temperatures between 150 and 200 K indicate the existence of a critical water concentration (x(c)) below which water mobility is highly restricted. Below x(c), nPG-water domains drive the dielectric signal whereas above x(c), water-water domains dominate the dielectric response at low temperatures. The results also show that process (II) at low temperatures is due to local motions of water molecules in the glassy frozen matrix. Additionally, we will show that the glass transition temperatures (T(g)) for aqueous PG, 2PG, and 3PG solutions do not extrapolate to approximately 136 K, regardless of the extrapolation method. Instead, we find that the extrapolated T(g) value for water from these solutions lies in the neighborhood of 165 K.  相似文献

Linear sulfur-carbon chains C(n)S (n=1-6) of astronomical interest were examined by means of several theoretical methods. The three smallest compounds of the series were chosen to evaluate the performance of several computational models, including Hartree-Fock theory, density functional theory with the Becke's three parameter exchange functional and the correlation functional of Lee, Yang, and Parr (B3LYP), and electron-correlated methods (second-order Moller-Plesset perturbation method (MP2), configuration interaction method including single and double excitations (CISD), and quadratic configuration interaction method including single and double excitations (QCISD) in combination with a large variety of basis sets. The systematic comparison between the experiment and theory indicates that the B3LYP/6-311G** method can be considered suitable for the study of the electronic structures of the C(n)S compounds. The electronic ground states of the C(n)S molecules alternate between 1Sigma and 3Sigma for odd and even values of n, respectively. The B3LYP/6-311G** wave functions for these electronic ground states were analyzed by means of the atoms in molecules (AIM) and natural bond orbital (NBO) methods. Both approaches suggest that the electronic structures for the singlet and triplet compounds must be considered separately. According to the NBO method, singlet compounds can be properly represented by acetylenic structures with alternating single and triple bonds (S[triple bond]C-C[triple bond]C...). However, triplet compounds are better described by means of double bond-double bond cumulenic structures (S=C=C=C=C...) as a consequence of the average between different alpha and beta electronic densities. AIM delocalization indexes and NBO interactions between localized orbitals also indicate that these structures are strongly pi delocalized. Finally, the different singlet and triplet structures proposed provide a consistent explanation for the geometries, dipole moments, and spin-density values of the C(n)S compounds studied.  相似文献

A perfusion reversed-phase HPLC method enabling the simultaneous separation of soybean and cereal (wheat, corn, and rice) proteins in commercial bakery products has been proposed for the first time. The method utilises an acetonitrile-water gradient containing an ion-pairing agent. Different ion-pairing agents were tried, 0.3% (v/v) acetic acid being observed to enable the separation of soybean from wheat, rice, and corn proteins while with 0.1% (v/v) trifluoroacetic acid only the separation of soybean and corn proteins was possible. Optimisation of the solubilisation conditions for proteins was achieved by testing different acetonitrile concentrations for the simultaneous extraction of soybean and cereal proteins: best recoveries were found with 25% (v/v) acetonitrile + 0.3% (v/v) acetic acid and with 40% (v/v) acetonitrile + 0.1% (v/v) trifluoroacetic acid. Chromatographic conditions such as gradient, temperature, and wavelength detection were also optimised. The method enabled the separation of soybean and cereal proteins in binary mixtures (soybean and wheat, soybean and corn, or soybean and rice proteins) in less than 5 minutes in a total analysis time of 20 min.  相似文献

The determination of seven sulfonamides by means of HPLC with chemiluminescence detection is proposed for the first time. The analytes are derivatized with fluorescamine, separated and subsequently they participate in the post-column chemiluminescence (CL) peroxyoxalate system using imidazole as a catalyst. Among the different peroxyoxalates tested, bis[4-nitro-2-(3,6,9-trioxadecyloxycarbonyl)phenyl] oxalate provides higher sensitivities and stabilities, avoiding precipitation problems. A rigorous optimization of the significant variables by means of experimental designs has been developed in order to reconcile the chromatographic conditions with the CL reaction. The method provides detection limits in the low microgl(-1) range and has been satisfactorily applied to the analysis of spiked raw milk samples.  相似文献

Self-assembly of the rigid rodlike ligand N,N'-4,4'-diphenylethynebis(oxamate) (dpeba) and Cu(2+) ions affords a novel dinuclear copper(II) metallacyclophane (nBu(4)N)(4)[Cu(2)(dpeba)(2)]·4MeOH·2Et(2)O (1) featuring a very long intermetallic distance (r = 15.0 ?). Magnetic susceptibility measurements for 1 reveal a moderately weak but nonnegligible intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling between the two metal centers across the double para-substituted diphenylethynediamidate bridge (J = -3.9 cm(-1); H = -JS(1)S(2), where S(1) = S(2) = S(Cu) = (1)/(2)). Four hosts (7-10) containing 2,6-bisamidopyridine- and 2,5-bisamidopyrrole-bearing pyridyl or 1,8-naphthyridyl groups have been prepared and their structures studied by a combination of multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. Their behavior in molecular recognition of urea derivatives, including (+)-biotin methyl ester, has been approached by molecular modeling (Monte Carlo conformational search, AMBER force field). A high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization/mass spectrometry (time of flight) method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of synthetic Fe(III)-chelates used as fertilizers. Analytes included the seven major Fe(III)-chelates used in agriculture, Fe(III)-EDTA, Fe(III)-DTPA, Fe(III)-HEDTA, Fe(III)-CDTA, Fe(III)-o,oEDDHA, Fe(III)-o,pEDDHA, and Fe(III)-EDDHMA, and the method was validated using isotope labeled (57)Fe(III)-chelates as internal standards. Calibration curves had R values in the range 0.9962-0.9997. Limits of detection and quantification were in the ranges 3-164 and 14-945 pmol, respectively. Analyte concentrations could be determined between the limits of quantification and 25 muM (racemic and meso Fe(III)-o,oEDDHA and Fe(III)-EDDHMA) or 50 muM (Fe(III)-EDTA, Fe(III)-HEDTA, Fe(III)-DTPA, Fe(III)-CDTA and Fe(III)-o,pEDDHA). The average intraday repeatability values were approximately 0.5 and 5% for retention time and peak area, respectively, whereas the interday repeatability values were approximately 0.7 and 8% for retention time and peak area, respectively. The method was validated using four different agricultural matrices, including nutrient solution, irrigation water, soil solution, and plant xylem exudates, spiked with Fe(III)-chelate standards and their stable isotope-labeled corresponding chelates. Analyte recoveries found were in the ranges 92-101% (nutrient solution), 89-102% (irrigation water), 82-100% (soil solution), and 70-111% (plant xylem exudates). Recoveries depended on the analyte, with Fe(III)-EDTA and Fe(III)-DTPA showing the lowest recoveries (average values of 87 and 88%, respectively, for all agricultural matrices used), whereas for other analytes recoveries were between 91 and 101%. The method was also used to determine the real concentrations of Fe(III)-chelates in commercial fertilizers. Furthermore, the method is also capable of resolving two more synthetic Fe(III)-chelates, Fe(III)-EDDHSA and Fe(III)-EDDCHA, whose exact quantification is not currently possible because of lack of commercial standards.  相似文献
