Summary. The solubility of water in 1-hexanol, 1-octanol, 1-decanol, and cyclohexanol was determined as a function of water activity by the isopiestic method at 298.2K. The solubility of water in the alcohol was expressed by a Setchenov type of equation and the correlation coefficients were related to the virial coefficients of the McMillan-Mayer theory of solution. From the solubility data both the activities and the osmotic coefficients of the alcohols were calculated. The Henrys law constants for the solubility of water in the alcohols are given. They depend linearly on the Gibbs energy of hydration. The excess Gibbs energy of mixing of water and alcohols is positive as a consequence of the strong intermolecular interactions of the two pure components of the mixture.  相似文献

Complexes of the type Cs[Ln(SO4)2(H2O)3]H2O, (Ln=La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) were prepared from aqueous solution. The compounds are all isomorphous and crystallise monoclinic, space group P21/c,Z=4. Unit cell parameters were determined by the single crystal technique and correlated to the ionic radii of Ln3+.IR spectra were recorded in the range 4000-250 cm–1 and tentatively assigned. The number of observed bands exceeds the predicted number by site symmetry selection rules, indicating coupling in the layer structure.

The analyses of radioactive isotopes 14C, 137Cs and 210Pb, and stable isotope 13C were performed in the sediment cores, top 40 cm, taken in 2011 from karst lakes Pro??e and Kozjak in the Plitvice Lakes National Park, central Croatia. Frozen sediment cores were cut into 1 cm thick layers and dried. 14C activity in both carbonate and organic fractions was measured using accelerator mass spectrometry technique with graphite synthesis. 137Cs, 210Pb, 214Pb and 214Bi were measured by low level gamma spectrometry method on ORTECHPGe detector with the efficiency of 32%. Distribution of 14C activity from both lakes showed increase of the 14C activity in the top 10–12 cm in both carbonate and organic fractions as a response to thermonuclear bomb-produced 14C in the atmosphere in the sixties of the 20th century. Anthropogenically produced 137Cs was also observed in sediment profiles. Sedimentation rates for both lake sediments were estimated based on the unsupported 210Pb activity. Different 14C activity of the carbonate fraction (63–80 pMC, percent of modern carbon) and organic fraction (82–93 pMC) is the result of geochemical and biological processes of the sediment precipitation in the lake waters. This is also confirmed by the δ 13 C values of both fractions. Carbon isotope composition, a 14 C and δ 13 C, was compared with the lake sediments from the same lakes collected in 1989 and 2003.  相似文献

We prove the existence of scattering states for the defocusing cubic Gross–Pitaevskii (GP) hierarchy in \({\mathbb{R}^3}\) . Moreover, we show that an exponential energy growth condition commonly used in the well-posedness theory of the GP hierarchy is, in a specific sense, necessary. Antibiotic resistance has emerged as a major threat to global health care. This is largely due to the fact that many pathogens have developed strategies to acquire resistance to antibiotics. Metallo‐β‐lactamases (MBL) have evolved to inactivate most of the commonly used β‐lactam antibiotics. AIM‐1 is one of only a few MBLs from the B3 subgroup that is encoded on a mobile genetic element in a major human pathogen. Here, its mechanism of action was characterised with a combination of spectroscopic and kinetic techniques and compared to that of other MBLs. Unlike other MBLs it appears that AIM‐1 has two avenues available for the turnover of the substrate nitrocefin, distinguished by the identity of the rate‐limiting step. This observation may be relevant with respect to inhibitor design for this group of enzymes as it demonstrates that at least some MBLs are very flexible in terms of interactions with substrates and possibly inhibitors.  相似文献
