 Analytical approximations to Hartree–Fock wave functions are constructed using Slater-type functions for the ground states of all 49 neutral atoms from Cs (Z=55) to Lr (Z=103). The current compilation is more extensive and more accurate than previous ones. In cities, flood waves may propagate over street surfaces below which lie complicated pipe networks used for storm drainage and sewage. The flood and pipe flows can interact at connections between the underground pipes and the street surface. The present paper examines this interaction, using the shallow water equations to model the flood wave hydrodynamics. Sources and sinks in the mass conservation equation are used to model the pipe inflow and outflow conditions at bed connections. We consider the problem reduced to one dimension. The shallow water equations are solved using a Godunov‐type wave propagation scheme. Wave speeds are modified in the wave propagation algorithm to enable flows to be simulated over nearly dry beds and dry states. First, the model is used to simulate vertical flows through finite gaps in the bed. Next, the interaction of the vertical flows with a dam break flow is considered for both dry and wet beds. An efflux number, En, is defined based on the vertical efflux velocity and the gap length. Comparisons are made with numerical predictions from STAR‐CD, a commercial Navier–Stokes solver that models the free‐surface motions, and a parameter study is undertaken to investigate the effect of the one‐dimensional approximation of the present model, for a range of non‐dimensional efflux numbers. It is found that the shallow flow model gives sensible predictions at all time provided En<0.5, and for long durations for En>0.5. Transition of spiral wave in the regular networks of Hodgkin-Huxley (H-H) neurons is simulated and discussed in detail when the effect of membrane temperature and forcing current is considered. Neurons are distributed in the sites of two-dimensional array, neurons are connected with complete nearest-neighbor connections, no-flux boundary conditions, appropriate initial values and physiological parameters are used to develop a stable rotating spiral wave. A statistic factor of synchronization is defined to discuss the transition and development of spiral wave in the two parameters space (membrane temperature T and forcing current I), and it is found that spiral wave keeps alive due to positive current forcing and the spiral wave can be removed completely when the temperature is increased to a threshold about T = 22.3 °C at a fixed current intensity. Periodical forcing current is imposed on the networks of neurons globally and locally, respectively. It is found that spiral wave could be suppressed by the new generated traveling wave or target wave when periodical forcing current is imposed on the border of networks of neurons, and the most effective frequency of the external forcing current is close to the intrinsic frequency of the spiral wave of the networks.  相似文献

First, two tanh-coth type solutions of a class of nonlinear wave equation are derived by using a simplified modified extended tanh-function method. Then, further analysis to some tanh-coth type solutions of nonlinear evolution equations are given. The results show that when balance number m is one or two, the tanh-eoth type solutions obtained by the modified extended tanh-funetion method can be obtained by using the hyperbolic-function method.  相似文献

Pollen-shape (spiked sphere) hydroxyapatite (HA) particles for drug carrier application are studied. The particle shape and size effect on flow characteristics and deposition are assessed. In this article, we report on the viscoelastic and thermal properties of agarose–polyacrylamide (PAAm) interpenetrating polymer hydrogels (IPHs) and semi‐IPHs as a function of agarose concentration and PAAm crosslinking degree. The results demonstrated that the agarose is able to gel in the presence of crosslinked and linear IPHs. In addition, the reticulation of PAAm in the presence of agarose is confirmed for the case of IPHs giving rise to systems with dimensional stability at high temperatures. The formation of a fully IPH was ascertained at low agarose concentrations. A study of the morphology and nanoscale elasticity of the different systems has been carried out with atomic force microscopy/ultrasonic force microscopy (UFM). UFM data provide further evidence of interpenetration, allowing us to visualize—if present—phase‐separated domains with nanoscale resolution for the various crosslinking degrees and PAAm and agarose concentrations used during the formation of the IPHs. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
