Plasticized microporous poly(vinylidene fluoride) separators for lithium-ion batteries. III. Gel properties and irreversible modifications of poly(vinylidene fluoride) membranes under swelling in liquid electrolytes

Microporous poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVdF) separators for lithium-ion batteries, used in liquid organic electrolytes, have been characterized with respect to the swelling phenomena on dense PVdF membranes (obtained through hot pressing). In the first and second parts of this study, we have described the swelling equilibria and swelling kinetics of dense PVdF. Here the thermal properties of PVdF gels and their irreversible modifications induced by swelling are characterized. Differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis investigation of the thermal properties and degradation of some radiation‐grafted films and membranes

The influence of irradiation and grafting on the crystallinity of three base polymers has been investigated with differential scanning calorimetry. Grafting has the largest effect on the base polymer crystallinity and results in a reduction of the crystallinity. The thermal degradation of the base polymers and grafted films has been investigated with thermogravimetric analysis. The extent of the fluorination of the base polymer, the irradiation method, and the graft level all influence the thermal degradation and its activation energy. It is proposed that the variation of the chain lengths of the grafted polystyrene chains is actually a primary underlying factor responsible for the influence of these various parameters on the degradation process. The first results of a comparative thermal analysis of some fuel‐cell membranes are also presented, and the promise and shortcomings of this method are discussed. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 空间目标的可见光散射与红外辐射

利用Lowtran7大气传输模型计算0.4～0.8μm可见光波段的太阳辐射、大气自身的热辐射以及天地背景辐射.依据粗糙面光散射理论与双向反射分布函数计算空中目标表面对太阳辐射和云层对阳光反射的散射.利用传热学和背景辐射理论,根据能量守恒定律建立空间目标表面温度的热平衡方程.以气球为例,计算不同表面涂层材料的气球,在不同地理位置、不同高度和不同时间条件下,其温度及辐射功率的变化.分析空间目标红外辐射特性的一般规律和特征.     

二茂铁在高温热解乙二胺制备CN_x纳米管过程中的催化性能研究

采用高温热解法 ,以二茂铁 乙二胺有机溶剂为前驱液制备CNx 纳米管过程中 ,改变前驱液配比 ,对 86 0℃ ,不同二茂铁含量条件下制备出的CNx 纳米管进行了产量统计、形貌结构观察和拉曼光谱研究。结果显示 :随着前躯液中二茂铁含量的相对增大 ,不但CNx 纳米管产量随之增加 ,而且产物中“竹节状”结构纳米管相对“中空”结构纳米管的比重也增大 ;拉曼光谱结果进一步证实了由于“竹节状”结构CNx 纳米管的含量或比重增加所带来的纳米管样品整体或平均含氮量的升高而导致的样品结晶有序程度的降低。对单独钴粉和二茂铁催化条件下生成CNx 纳米管的形貌观察进一步证实 :二茂铁在热解法制备“竹节状”结构CNx 纳米管过程中的浮动催化作用显著 ,有利于实现含氮量较高、结构均匀的CNx 纳米管的可控制生长。     

Cyclic Hypomonotonicity,Cyclic Submonotonicity,and Integration

Rockafellar has shown that the subdifferentials of convex functions are always cyclically monotone operators. Moreover, maximal cyclically monotone operators are necessarily operators of this type, since one can construct explicitly a convex function, which turns out to be unique up to a constant, whose subdifferential gives back the operator. This result is a cornerstone in convex analysis and relates tightly convexity and monotonicity. In this paper, we establish analogous robust results that relate weak convexity notions to corresponding notions of weak monotonicity, provided one deals with locally Lipschitz functions and locally bounded operators. In particular, the subdifferentials of locally Lipschitz functions that are directionally hypomonotone [respectively, directionally submonotone] enjoy also an additional cyclic strengthening of this notion and in fact are maximal under this new property. Moreover, every maximal cyclically hypomonotone [respectively, maximal cyclically submonotone] operator is always the Clarke subdifferential of some directionally weakly convex [respectively, directionally approximately convex] locally Lipschitz function, unique up to a constant, which in finite dimentions is a lower C² function [respectively, a lower C¹ function].     

Harnack inequality for some classes of Markov processes

In this paper we establish a Harnack inequality for nonnegative harmonic functions of some classes of Markov processes with jumps. Low‐gain adaptive stabilization of semilinear second‐order hyperbolic systems

In this paper low‐gain adaptive stabilization of undamped semilinear second‐order hyperbolic systems is considered in the case where the input and output operators are collocated. The linearized systems have an infinite number of poles and zeros on the imaginary axis. The adaptive stabilizer is constructed by a low‐gain adaptive velocity feedback. The closed‐loop system is governed by a non‐linear evolution equation. First, the well‐posedness of the closed‐loop system is shown. Next, an energy‐like function and a multiplier function are introduced and the exponential stability of the closed‐loop system is analysed. Some examples are given to illustrate the theory. New inequalities from classical Sturm theorems

Inequalities satisfied by the zeros of the solutions of second-order hypergeometric equations are derived through a systematic use of Liouville transformations together with the application of classical Sturm theorems. This systematic study allows us to improve previously known inequalities and to extend their range of validity as well as to discover inequalities which appear to be new. Among other properties obtained, Szegő's bounds on the zeros of Jacobi polynomials for , are completed with results for the rest of parameter values, Grosjean's inequality (J. Approx. Theory 50 (1987) 84) on the zeros of Legendre polynomials is shown to be valid for Jacobi polynomials with |β|1, bounds on ratios of consecutive zeros of Gauss and confluent hypergeometric functions are derived as well as an inequality involving the geometric mean of zeros of Bessel functions.
