Dynamically Broken Supergauge Symmetries

The dynamical breaking of the supergauge symmetries in the massless supergauge Wess Zumino model isdiscussed without adding the Fayet-Iliopoulos term to the Lagrangian. It is shown, in terms of the Nambu-Jona-Lasiniomechanism, that the supersymmetry breaking and the gauge symmetry breaking can be realized dynamically. It is alsoshown that the dynamical breaking moves the vacuum expectation values of two scalar fields away from zero. In order torestore the symmetry of the vacuum, one of the two scalar fields is translated and at the same time the mass spectrumis changed too.     

Physics at the linear collider

The physics at the plannede ⁺ e ^- colliders is discussed around three main topics corresponding to different manifestations of symmetry breaking:W physics in the no Higgs scenario, studies of the properties of the Higgs and precision tests of SUSY. A comparison with the LHC is made for all these cases. The γγ mode of the linear collider will also be reviewed.     

Search for supersymmetry at LEP-2

An extensive effort to search for a hint of a supersymmetric signal was carried out by the four LEP Collaborations. All LEP data, up to centre-of-mass energy of 209 GeV, was carefully analysed with no observed SUSY signal. In an attempt to further increase the sensitivity of the search, the four groups combined some of their searches, to no avail.

Fluctuations in nonequilibrium systems and broken supersymmetry

The fluctuation-dissipation theorem is not expected to hold for systems that either violate detailed balance or have time-dependent or nonpotential forces. Therefore the relation between response and correlation functions should have contributions due to the nonequilibrium nature. An explicit formula for such a contribution is calculated, which in the present derivation appears as a historydependent term. These relations are the Ward-Takahashi identities of a supersymmetric formulation of the Langevin models, and the new term results from a broken supersymmetry.     

Higgs bosons in the standard model,the MSSM and beyond

I summarize the basic theory and selected phenomenology for the Higgs boson(s) of the standard model, the minimal supersymmetric model and some extensions thereof, including the next-to-minimal supersymmetric model.     

Dynamical Breaking of Supersymmetry and Its Restoration at High Temperatures

The dynamical breaking of the supersymmetric Higgs model is discussed without adding the Fayet—Iliopoulos term to the Lagrangian. It is shown, in terms of the Nambu—Jona-Lasinio mechanism, that the supersymmetry breaking can be realized dynamically in the supersymmetric Higgs model. The supersymmetry behavior at finite temperatures is also investigated and it is shown that the supersymmetry broken dynamically at zero temperature can be restored at finite temperatures.     

Supersymmetric solution of gauge hierarchy problem

Some recent developments with respect to the resolution of the gauge hierarchy problem in grand unified theories by supersymmetry are presented. A general argument is developed to show how global supersymmetry maintains the stability of the different mass-scales under perturbative effects.     

On a supersymmetric nonlinear integrable equation in (2+1) dimensions

A supersymmetric integrable equation in (2+1) dimensions is constructed by means of the approach of the homogenous space of the super Lie algebra, where the super Lie algebra osp(3/2) is considered. For this (2+1) dimensional integrable equation, we also derive its Bäcklund transformation.
