Benzyltriphenylphosphonium Chlorochromate: A Mild and Novel Reagent for Oxidation of Benzylic and Allylic Alcohols Under Non-Aqueous and Aprotic Conditions or Microwave Conditions

This paper describes the oxidation of benzylic and allylic alcohols under non-aqueous and aprotic conditions or microwave conditions using benzyltriphenylphosphonium chlorochromate (1) PhCH₂PPh₃CrO₃.HCl which has been prepared by mixing an aqueous solution of benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride with CrO₃ in 6 N HCl at room temperature. This reagent is stable orange powder which may be stored for months without loss of its activity. This compound is readily soluble in organic solvents such as acetonitrile, chloroform and dichloromethane and slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride, ether and hexane. the oxidation under microwave conditions is much more faster.     

Comment on “Extending Hirshfeld‐I to bulk and periodic materials”

In recent years, several methods have been developed that partition the electron density among atoms using spherically symmetric atomic weights. D. E. P. Vanpoucke, P. Bultinck, and I. Van Driessche (J. Comput. Chem. 2012, doi: 10.1002/jcc.23088) recently reported a periodic implementation of the Hirshfeld‐I method that uses a combination of Becke‐style and uniform integration grids and modified atomic reference densities to compute net atomic charges in periodic materials. Herein, this method is discussed in the context of earlier periodic implementations of the Hirshfeld‐I method, the Iterated Stockholder Atoms method, and the density derived electrostatic and chemical method.     

具有固定时滞的经济周期模型的动态分析

在经济活动中,投资行为和资本存量存在一定的时滞效应,这会影响经济周期模型的动态行为,进而使得投资政策对经济的稳定调整复杂化.考虑到资本存量的预期时间以及投资时滞对经济活动的影响,采用Hopf分岔理论,研究具有固定时滞的经济周期模型的均衡点的稳定性以及形成经济周期的条件.研究发现,投资过程中的投资时滞,以及投资决策中对于资本存量的预测时间构成经济周期产生的诱因;同时可通过政府投资政策调整达到预期均衡目标,这对保持经济周期稳定及经济政策制定有一定的指导作用.     

关于具有二次相关性收获率的捕食与被捕食系统极限环的存在性分析

讨论了一类两种群具有二次相关性收获率的捕食与被捕食系统,利用常微分定性方法和分支理论,得到了系统平衡点处的性态和极限环的存在性条件,并用Matlab软件对其进行数值模拟,推广了相关文献中两种群捕食模型定性分析的相应结论.     

Bifurcation analysis of a diffusive predator–prey system with a herd behavior and quadratic mortality

In this paper, a diffusive predator–prey system, in which the prey species exhibits herd behavior and the predator species with quadratic mortality, has been studied. The stability of positive constant equilibrium, Hopf bifurcations, and diffusion‐driven Turing instability are investigated under the Neumann boundary condition. The explicit condition for the occurrence of the diffusion‐driven Turing instability is derived, which is determined by the relationship of the diffusion rates of two species. The formulas determining the direction and the stability of Hopf bifurcations depending on the parameters of the system are derived. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to verify and extend the theoretical results and show the existence of spatially homogeneous periodic solutions and nonconstant steady states. An inverse coefficient problem for a quasilinear parabolic equation with periodic boundary and integral overdetermination condition

In this paper, the inverse problem of finding the time‐dependent coefficient of heat capacity together with the solution periodic boundary and integral overdetermination conditions is considered. Under some natural regularity and consistency conditions on the input data, the existence, uniqueness, and continuous dependence upon the data of the solution are shown. Abundant explicit exact solutions to the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation with parabolic law and dual‐power law nonlinearities

This paper is concerned with the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation with parabolic law and dual‐power law. Abundant explicit and exact solutions of the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation with parabolic law and dual‐power law are derived uniformly by using the first integral method. These exact solutions are include that of extended hyperbolic function solutions, periodic wave solutions of triangle functions type, exponential form solution, and complex hyperbolic trigonometric function solutions and so on. The results obtained confirm that the first integral method is an efficient technique for analytic treatment of a wide variety of nonlinear systems of partial DEs. Tighter uncertainty principles for periodic signals in terms of frequency

In this study, we propose some new uncertainty principles for periodic signals with sharper lower bounds than those in the existing ones. The improved lower bounds, in particular, are related to the frequency of the signal. Three examples are employed to demonstrate sharpness of the new uncertainty principles. Pseudo almost periodic dynamics of delay Nicholson's blowflies model with a linear harvesting term

In this paper, we investigate a class of delay Nicholson's blowflies model with a linear harvesting term, new criteria for the existence and convergence dynamics of positive pseudo almost periodic solutions are established by using the fixed point method and the properties of pseudo almost periodic function, together with constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals. The obtained results extend previously known results, and they also partially answer an open problem proposed by L. Berezansky et al. Trapped modes along a periodic array of freely floating obstacles

We consider the coupled problem describing the motion of a linear array of three‐dimensional obstacles floating freely in a homogeneous fluid layer of finite depth. The interaction of time‐harmonic waves with the floating objects is analyzed under the usual assumptions of linear water‐wave theory. Quasi‐periodic boundary conditions and a simplified reduction scheme turn the system into a linear spectral problem for a self‐adjoint operator in Hilbert space. Based upon the operator formulation, we derive a sufficient condition for the nonemptiness of its discrete spectrum. Various examples of obstacles that generate trapped modes are given.
