Effect of Photo-Induced Periodic Gain Structure on Oscillation Power and Tunability in Polymer Dye Laser

Pumping dye-doped organic polymer by interference pattern of a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG 532 nm laser to induce a periodic gain-structure and confining it within a stable optical resonator, the oscillation output can be effectively enhanced in comparison with either that of uniform irradiation, i.e., pumping, or of distributed feedback (DFB) operation, and the oscillation wavelength becomes tunable by adjusting the period of the interference pattern. Using Rhodamine-B as a dopant over the range from 200 to 1000 ppm, the oscillation output was enhanced by - 10 dB, which was larger than the output of the uniform irradiation and was - 30% greater than the DFB scheme. Moreover, changing the period of the interference pattern by adjusting the setting angle of the Koster prism enables us to vary the oscillation wavelength around 600 nm.

890 mW Diode Pumped Nd:YVO4 Intracavity-doubled Red Light Laser

A diode-pumped Nd3+:YVO4 emitting at 1342 nm and 671 nm was developed. Low concentration neodymium doped Nd:YVO4 shows excellent stability at 1342 nm. With a type-Ⅱ noncritical phase-matched LBO crystal as the intracavity frequency doubler, 890 mW of 671 nm light was obtained at 11.2 W incident pumping power, the optical-optical conversion efficiency is 7.9%.     

A difference scheme for solving the Timoshenko beam equations with tip body

In this article, a Timoshenko beam with tip body and boundary damping is considered. A linearized three-level difference scheme of the Timoshenko beam equations on uniform meshes is derived by the method of reduction of order. The unique solvability, unconditional stability and convergence of the difference scheme are proved. The convergence order in maximum norm is of order two in both space and time. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the theoretical results.

Optimum operating parameters of miniature OPFIRL

The optimum operating parameters of miniature OPFIRL was studied theoretically and experimentally. The theoretical results were in pretty good agreement with experimental results except for 1.5cm laser. The transverse feedback effect plays an important role in the miniature OPFIRL. it's worthv to be funther studied.     

Combined absorption of light in the process of photoactivation of biosystems

The light-oxygen effect consists in a direct excitation of molecular oxygen dissolved in aqueous media of biosystems by the light; it provides the possibility to use lasers for therapeutic purposes. The wavelength of the used light should strictly correspond to the oxygen absorption bands. However, laser therapy also makes use of lasers emitting at 0.89 μm (outside the known oxygen bands), which suggests the action of a new photoreceptor. Here we argue that this mechanism of photoreception is a modification of the light-oxygen effect involving the absorption of photon simultaneously by the oxygen molecule and O-H stretch of the H₂0 molecule of liquid water.     

导引场下电磁泵浦自由电子激光的非线性理论

本文以Vlasov-Maxwell方程组为基础,用非线性动力学理论研究了存在导引场情况下电磁波泵浦的自由电子激光器的作用机制,导出了线性及非线性色散关系式,求出了非线性不稳定性增长率和自由电子激光的能量转换效率.结果表明,只要合理地选择参量条件,附加导引场可以大大提高自由电子激光的增长率和能量转换效率.
