小间隙高放大多丝室及其放电机制

对以强猝灭气体工作的小间隙多丝室及其放电机制进行了研究,实验表明,因为工作在饱和模式区,这种室同时具有很高的气体放大和相当快的时间特性.文中探讨了放电机制,雪崩中空间电荷效应以及电离光子的产生和作用是重要的因素,而其中后一因素又受到强猝灭气体的抑制.     

Symmetry of the Barochronous Motions of a Gas

We study the system of nonlinear differential equations which expresses the constancy of the algebraic invariants of the Jacobian matrix for smooth vector fields in three-dimensional space. This system is equivalent to the equations of gas dynamics which describe the barochronous motions of a gas (the pressure and density depend only on the time). We present the results of computation of the admissible local Lie group and construction of the general solution of the system. We mention a few new problems that arise here.     

Synthesis of a new tricyclic 3-(tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine system from 2-(azidomethyl)nicotinonitriles

2-Methyl-3-cyanopyridines were converted into the corresponding 2-azidomethyl derivatives, which then underwent an intramolecular cycloaddition reaction. A novel heterocyclic system containing a 3-(tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine unit was obtained in this way.

Stability analysis of abnormal multiplication of plankton using parameter identification technique

This paper presents the mathematical approach for the abnormal multiplication of plankton. An abnormal multiplication can be expressed as an unstable problem and the stability of the system is investigated by introducing eigenvalues of a mathematical equation. The stability of the system can be judged by an eigenvalue based on the Lyapunov's stability theory. In this paper, the Arnoldi‐QR method is used to obtain eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the system. The mode superposition method is employed to create spatial distribution needed to analyse the stability. To obtain the objective eigenvalue, the parameter identification technique is employed. The finite element method is used for the discretization in space. Lake Kasumigaura, which is located in Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan, is selected and actual data in 1975, 1976, 1991 and 2000 are used in order to investigate the stability of the specified lake in Japan. Preparation of the conjugated polyene chains with the 1,4-dimethyl substitution

Allylic sulfones undergo the conjugate addition to diethyl chloroisopropylidenemalonate, followed by intramolecular cyclopropanation. DBU-promoted ring opening and subsequent desulfonation reactions of the resulting adduct produce the conjugated polyene chains with the 1,4-dimethyl substitution.     

The spectrum of cyclic BSA(ν, 3, λ; α) with α = 2, 3

Balanced sampling plans excluding contiguous units (or BSEC) were first introduced by Hedayat, Rao, and Stufken in 1988. In this paper, we generalize the concept of a cyclic BSEC to a cyclic balanced sampling plan to avoid the selection of adjacent units (or CBSA for short) and use Langford and extended Langford sequences to construct a cyclic BSA(ν, 3, λ; α) with α = 2, 3. We finally establish the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a cyclic BSA(ν, 3, λ; α) where α = 2, 3. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Combin Designs.     

Classification of graded Hecke algebras for complex reflection groups

The graded Hecke algebra for a finite Weyl group is intimately related to the geometry of the Springer correspondence. A construction of Drinfeld produces an analogue of a graded Hecke algebra for any finite subgroup of GL(V). This paper classifies all the algebras obtained by applying Drinfeld's construction to complex reflection groups. By giving explicit (though nontrivial) isomorphisms, we show that the graded Hecke algebras for finite real reflection groups constructed by Lusztig are all isomorphic to algebras obtained by Drinfeld's construction. The classification shows that there exist algebras obtained from Drinfeld's construction which are not graded Hecke algebras as defined by Lusztig for real as well as complex reflection groups. Discreteness Criterions of Isometric Subgroups for Quaternionic Hyperbolic Space

In this paper, we give analogue of Jörgensen's inequality for nonelementary groups of isometries of complex hyperbolic 2-space generated by two elements, one of which is either loxodromic or boundary elliptic for the same group of isometries of quaternionic hyperbolic 2-space. And we give a sufficient condition for a nonelementary subgroup of isometries of quaternionic hyperbolic 2-space generated by two elements one of which is parabolic not to be discrete.     

Topologically knotted Lagrangians in simply connected four-manifolds

Vidussi was the first to construct knotted Lagrangian tori in simply connected four-dimensional manifolds. Fintushel and Stern introduced a second way to detect such knotting. This note demonstrates that similar examples may be distinguished by the fundamental group of the exterior.
