It is generally accepted that the temporal resolution of blood oxygenation level dependent functional MRI is limited due to the inherent latency and longevity of the haemodynamic response. However, in this study we introduce a technique for measurement of timing differences from within the same brain region in two (or more) separate tasks that allows accurate determination of cortical timing differences 200 ms. Our technique, based on a novel use of linear regression analysis, is shown to yield accurate results both in simulated and experimental data. We show that cortical timing differences measured using fMRI are consistent with published electrophysiological results. Measurement of timing differences using this technique could prove a useful strategy for identifying neural network components in a wide range of cognitive paradigms.  相似文献

A fast and efficient timing offset correction is an essential function in the coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) system. The timing synchronization schemes for OFDM systems in wireless communications can be used for CO-OFDM systems. However, the performance of these schemes is reduced due to the chromatic dispersion. To fulfill the requirement of the CO-OFDM systems, a novel symbol timing synchronization scheme based on chirp signals has been proposed. The simulation results show that the proposed method is robust in CO-OFDM systems which is suffering from noise.  相似文献

We demonstrate an original all-fiber self-injection seeding technique based on a noninterferometric reflector for the optical timing jitter reduction in a chirp compen sated gain-switched Distributed FeedBack (DFB) laser. Two experiments, at 2.5 and 5 GHz, show standard deviations of the optical timing jitter of 0.28 ps and a reduction factor of 17 in the best case. The self-injection seeding sensitivity to polarization effects and to modulating frequency changes was measured in terms of standard deviation. A final experiment at 10 GHz, with no external feedback, shows an optical timing jitter down to 0.4 ps due to a time dynamics of spontaneous emission fluctuations slower than the pulse period.  相似文献

This paper deals with a duel with time lag that has the following structure: Each of two players I and II has a gun with one bullet and he can fire his bullet at any time in [0, 1], aiming at this opponent. The gun of player I is silent and the gun of player II is noisy with time lagt (i.e., if player II fires at timex, then player I knows it at timex+t). They both have equal accuracy functions. Furthermore, if player I hits player II without being hit himself before, the payoff is +1; if player I is hit by player II without hitting player II before, the payoff is –1; if they hit each other at the same time or both survive, the payoff is 0.This paper gives the optimal strategy for each player, the game value, and some examples.  相似文献

为了能够实时成像和同步显示,设计了一种结构简单、携带方便的大面阵CMOS实时成像及显示系统,采用EPF10K50完成了MT9M413C36STM图像生成时序和SXGA显示时序及数据输出的多路转换设计.图像传感器的数据输出转换为两路,一路数据输出给处理电路进行图像实时处理;另一路经ADV7127视频数模变换后输出,可以连接SXGA形式的显示器同步显示图像.实验设计了相关硬件电路,并用VHDL语言编写了驱动程序,在Quartus 8.0的开发环境下,进行了调试.结果表明,该系统可以在1280×1024@60Hz逐行扫描模式下稳定地工作.  相似文献

We present a novel system design that can generate the optimized wavelength-tunable optical pulse streams from an uncooled gain-switched Fabry–Perot semiconductor laser using an optical amplifier as external light source. The timing jitter of gain-switched laser has been reduced from about 3 ps to 600 fs and the pulse width has been optimized by using our system. The stability of the system was also experimentally investigated. Our results show that an uncooled gain-switched FP laser system can feasibly produce the stable optical pulse trains with pulse width of 18 ps at the repetition frequency of 5 GHz during 7 h continuous working. We respectively proved the system feasibility under 1 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz operation.  相似文献

Simulations for data formats Return to Zero (RZ), Non-Return to Zero (NRZ), RZ-Soliton, Duobinary and their subcategories have been done with and without ideal dispersion compensation for optical communication systems. The results show that, in general, dispersion compensation improves timing jitter. RZ-Rectangular pulses show the smallest value of jitter without compensation. It has been observed that the RZ-Raised Cosine, and Soliton, give minimum jitter after ideal compensation. It has been reported that the BER performance of optical communication system using Duobinary data format is 10−8 and 10−37 before and after dispersion compensation, respectively. Further the comparative study shows that the timing jitter is the lowest in case of RZ-Soliton (0.0127 ns) after dispersion compensation and 0.0135 ns for RZ-Rectangular data format before dispersion compensation.  相似文献

We present computer simulations of a new design of a variable energy positron lifetime beam that uses for a start signal the secondary electron emission from a 25-nm thick carbon foil (C-foil) located in front of the sample. A needle of ∼30 μm diameter is positioned on-axis right behind the foil, creating a radial electric field that deflects the secondary electrons radially outward so as to miss the sample and to hit the micro-channel plate (MCP) detector placed down beam. The MCP signal provides the start signal for the positron lifetime spectrometer. A grid can be further introduced between the sample holder and the MCP to yield a cleaner signal by preventing the positrons with large transmitted scattering angle from hitting the MCP. The cylindrical symmetry of this design reduces the experimental complexity and offers good timing resolution. We show that the design is robust against the transmitted energy and angle of the secondary electrons and positrons.  相似文献
