Linearity relationship between solvatochromic shifts of stilbazolium-like dyes and modified reaction field function

We analyzed statistically the linear correlation of the solva-tochromic shifts of the stilbazolium-like dyes in the nonselected solvents with the reaction field function, L(εr) - bL( n2), and the solvent polarity parameter, ETN, respectively, and observed that there were not perfectly linearity relationships between them, so we introduced ETN into L(εr) - bL(n2) to form a new reaction field function, L(εr) - bL(n2) g ETN, called as the modified reaction field function, which can be perfectly linearly correlated with the solvatochromic shifts of the stilbazolium-like dyes in the nonselected solvents.     

The stereoselective total synthesis of (+)-garvensintriol

A simple and highly efficient stereoselective total synthesis of (+)-garvensintriol, isolated from the stem bark of Goniothalamus arvensis, is described using Sharpless kinetic resolution, MacMillan α-hydroxylation, and Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons olefination as the key steps.     

Synthesis and characterization of cross‐linkable ruthenium complex dye and its application on dye‐sensitized solar cells

A new crosslinkable light sensitizer, Ru(2,2′‐bipyridine‐4,4′‐bicarboxylic acid)(4,4′‐bis(11‐dodecenyl)‐2,2′‐bipyridine)(NCS)₂, denoted as Ru‐C for titanium oxide nanocrystalline‐based solar cells was synthesized with its crosslinking properties invesitigated by Fourier‐transform infrared and UV‐vis absorption spectroscopies. After crosslinking by itself or copolymerizing with methyacrylic acid, their sensitized solar cells with poly(methylacrylate)‐gelled electrolyte system not only attained more than 5% of power conversion efficiency at AM 1.5 illumination (100 mW/cm²), but also gave rise to long storage life. Surface modification of epoxy‐functionalized acrylate colloids

A synthetic route towards surface modified, monodisperse, spherical particles is presented. The precursor particles exhibit epoxy‐functionalities which can be opened afterwards with an appropriate nucleophile. Via this route, dye labeled particles are obtained. 偶氮材料——乙基橙的光致双折射特性

将偶氮化合物乙基橙样品置于一对正交的偏振片之间，用一束激发光照射该样品，分别测量 在激发光的不同强度和不同偏振方向下探测光的透射功率，研究样品的双折射特性.实验表 明，透射光的饱和值和稳定值与激发光强成正比，且与激发光偏振方向有关，探测光与激发 光振动方向的夹角(θ)为45°时，其值最大；若θ不太小（>10°），sin²2θ 与透射光的饱和值、稳定值成线性关系.同时，利用巴俾涅补偿器对样品的双折射率差进 行了测量，分别得到了绿光激发前后的准确数值为1.11×10^-3和3.57×10 ^-3. 关键词： 偶氮 双折射 测量

Theoretical Analysis of Super-Resolution Optical Disk Mastering Using a Photoreactive Dye Mask Layer

The super-resolution mastering of read-only optical disks using a photoreactive bleachable dye mask layer was theoretically analyzed. Equations have been derived which describe the photoreactions of the resist layer and mask layer. A numerical simulation based on these equations showed that the transmittance of the mask directly affects the quality of the formed pit shape. A high-quality pit shape is obtained by using a low transmittance mask.     

Ultrafast high repetition rate absorption spectroscopy of polymer shock compression

A dual-beam transient absorption spectrometer for high repetition rate (80 shocks per second) studies of shock compressed materials is described. The apparatus time response is 100 ps, so the time resolution of the shock compression process is generally limited by the shock transit time across the sample. In turn the sample thickness is limited by the sensitivity of the spectrometer. Using 400 nm thick samples of R640 dye aggregates in \textit{poly} methyl methacrylate (PMMA) and a 4.2 GPa laser-driven shock, transient absorption spectra show a shock induced absorption redshift occurring in 500 ps, considerably longer than the 200 ps shock front transit time (round trip) through the sample. This noninstantaneous shock compression is consistent with the $\sim 300$ ps viscoelastic response of PMMA at 4.2 GPa. Novelty Filtering Using Phase Conjugate Wave in Organic Dye-Doped Polymer Films

A real-time detection of a moving object was demonstrated by taking the subtraction between cross-polarized phase conjugate waves with fast and slow response times with two kinds of dye-doped phase conjugators. One consists of superposed films of an erythrosin-B-doped film and a methyl-orange-doped film, and the other is a film dispersed with both dyes. The relative phase between cross-polarized phase conjugate waves by the both dye-dispersed films was stable.
