Based on an α-particle model of 12C, an optical potential for intermediate-energy proton- 12C scattering is presented in the framework of the KMT theory. The parameterized proton- 4He amplitude, the required basic input for constructing the optical potential, is obtained by fitting the proton- 4He scattering data. The differential cross-sections and analyzing powers of the proton- 12C elastic scattering at incident energies ranging from 0.2 to 1.0GeV have been calculated by using the obtained optical potential.
The main features of the measured angular distributions of the cross-section and the analyzing power can be satisfactorily
described. The proton- 12C total cross-sections have also been calculated, and the results are in good agreement with the experimental data at energies
below 0.6GeV but underestimate the data about 6% at higher energies. 相似文献

The nonlinear Schrödinger equation which governs the dynamics of two-dimensional spatial solitons in Kerr media with periodically varying diffraction and nonlinearity has been analyzed in this paper using variational approach and numerical studies. Analytical expressions for soliton parameters have been derived using variational analysis. Variational equations and partial differential equation have been simulated numerically. Analytical and numerical studies have shown that nonlinearity management and diffraction management stabilize the pulse against decay or collapse providing undisturbed propagation even for larger energies of the incident beam. 相似文献

We have studied the structural behavior of lead monoxide (PbO) as a function of pressure via angular dispersive X-ray diffraction employing two different pressure transmitting media that were quasi-hydrostatic (N2) and non-hydrostatic (MgO), respectively. Besides litharge (-PbO) and massicot (β-PbO), which are both stable at ambient pressure, there is an orthorhombic γ-PbO phase which appears upon application of pressure to -PbO. We have found that the orthorhombic γ-PbO phase is favored by shear stress under non-hydrostatic conditions. -PbO shows strong anisotropy in compressibility. The a-axis is rather incompressible with a linear stiffness coefficient of Ka0=540(30) GPa whereas the c-axis stiffness is Kc0=25(1) GPa. The bulk modulus of -PbO is K0=23.1(3) GPa and its derivative . 相似文献

In certain species of moths and butterflies iridescent colors arise from subwavelength diffractive surface corrugation of
the wing-scales. The optical properties of such structures depend strongly on wavelength, incidence angle, and state of polarization
of illuminating radiation, and the viewing angle. In this paper, we study the reflection spectra of the wings of the Morpho didius butterfly by simulating a double-layered model of a transverse cross-section comprised of the ground scale and the cover
scale. Each layer contains a certain quasi-periodic arrangement of tree-like subwavelength microstructures. The simulation
is done using a high accuracy nonstandard finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method in two dimensions. We assume that the
structure is made of a slightly lossy dielectric material. The wavelength dependence of the complex refractive index for the
ground scale of Morpho didius is assumed to be similar to that of Morpho sulkowskyi. The complex refractive index in the latter case was obtained by comparing the computed reflection/transmission spectra with

This work presents the results of a low-energy nitrogen ion implantation of AISI 304 type stainless steel (SS) at a moderate
temperature of about 500°C. The nitrogen ions are extracted from a Kauffman-type ion source at an energy of 30 keV, and ion
current density of 100 μA cm−2. Nitrogen ion concentration of 6 × 1017, 8 × 1017 and 1018 ions cm−2, were selected for our study. The X-ray diffraction results show the formation of CrN polycrystalline phase after nitrogen
bombardment and a change of crystallinity due to the change in nitrogen ion concentration. The secondary ion mass spectrometry
(SIMS) results show the formation of CrN phases too. Corrosion test has shown that corrosion resistance is enhanced by increasing
nitrogen ion concentration.

We investigated the propagation and transformation of laser beams and the formation of caustics in particular directions,
including optical axes of crystals. We found a direct connection between the particular directions and the curvature of wave
surfaces that is determined by the symmetry and optical properties of the crystals. We demonstrated that caustics in particular
directions are characterized by a degree of the curvature degeneracy and are described by particular solutions of the corresponding
nonlinear equations.

Recent research progress using X‐ray cryo‐crystallography with the photon beams from third‐generation synchrotron sources has resulted in recognition that this intense radiation commonly damages protein samples even when they are held at 100 K. Other structural biologists examining thin protein crystals or single particle specimens encounter similar radiation damage problems during electron diffraction and imaging, but have developed some effective countermeasures. The aim of this concise review is to examine whether analogous approaches can be utilized to alleviate the X‐ray radiation damage problem in synchrotron macromolecular crystallography. The critical discussion of this question is preceded by presentation of background material on modern technical procedures with electron beam instruments using 300–400 kV accelerating voltage, low‐dose exposures for data recording, and protection of protein specimens by cryogenic cooling; these practical approaches to dealing with electron radiation damage currently permit best resolution levels of 6 Å (0.6 nm) for single particle specimens, and of 1.9 Å for two‐dimensional membrane protein crystals. Final determination of the potential effectiveness and practical value of using such new or unconventional ideas will necessitate showing, by experimental testing, that these produce significantly improved protection of three‐dimensional protein crystals during synchrotron X‐ray diffraction. 相似文献

In the present work, solid-state reactions in Sm2(Co, Fe, Cu, Zr)17-type alloys have been investigated by means of in situ electrical resistivity measurements. Changes in the electrical resistivity of a Sm(Co0.74Fe0.1Cu0.12Zr0.04)8.5 alloy after solid solution treatment at 1190 °C, quenching to room temperature, and during isothermal ageing at temperatures between 400 and 900 °C, have indicated microstructural/phase changes occurring at temperatures below those commonly used for the development of high coercivity in Sm(Co, Fe, Cu, Zr)z-type materials. Subsequent crystallographic and magnetic transition measurements have shown a high degree of correlation with respect to the changes observed in the electrical resistivity during isothermal ageing. 相似文献
