Particle level simulations were used to investigate the effects of size bidispersity and particle size ratios on the static and yielding behaviour of magnetorheological fluids (MRF). The MRF were treated as linearly magnetisable, neutrally buoyant particles dispersed in a viscous carrier liquid. In the quiescent mode (static structures), the bidisperse suspensions were found to have a higher tendency to form straight chains than the monodisperse suspensions; this is consistent with previous findings. Under steady shearing, the bidisperse suspensions exhibited higher stress enhancement than the monodisperse systems. The stress enhancement in bidisperse suspensions is likely to be due to the population and orientation of interacting large particles in the bidisperse suspensions.  相似文献

The dynamics of particles in multi-phase jets has been widely studied due to its importance for a broad range of practical applications. The present work describes an experimental investigation on an initially non-dilute two-phase jet, aimed at improving the understanding in this field. A two-color PDPA has been employed to measure simultaneously the velocity and size of particles. The measurements are post-processed to check the reliability of the results and to derive information on particle volume flux as an indication of their concentration. Acoustic forcing is applied in order to control coherent structures, which are responsible for mixing and transport phenomena, and also to get phase-locked measurements. Phase-averaged statistics enabled to freeze the jet structure, not visible in the time-averaged data. The results along the jet centerline confirm that drag forces and the spread angle of the jet initially control particle dispersion, very near the nozzle exit (x/D < 4). However, as the vortical structures evolve forming tongue-shaped structures, the total particle volume flux is augmented when these structures connect with the main stream (x/D > 5). This is due to an increase of the number of smaller size particles, even when a decrease of the number of larger size particle is observed. Further analysis at five cross-stream sections across two consecutive vortices confirm that small particles are convected around the coherent structure and then incorporated to the main stream, increasing the particle concentration at the jet core. On the other hand, the number of larger particles (as well as their contribution to axial volume flux) starts to decay in regions of high azymuthal vorticity. This behaviour is partly ascribed to the transversal lift force, associated to the large spatial gradients observed in these regions. Saffman and Magnus forces have been estimated to be comparable or even greater than radial drag forces. The results suggest that the Saffman force might accelerate particles in radial direction, inducing a high radial volumetric flow rate from high to low axial velocity regions.  相似文献

In gas explosions, the unsteady coupling of the propagating flame and the flow field induced by the presence of blockages along the flame path produces vortices of different scales ahead of the flame front. The resulting flame–vortex interaction intensifies the rate of flame propagation and the pressure rise. In this paper, a joint numerical and experimental study of unsteady premixed flame propagation around three sequential obstacles in a small-scale vented explosion chamber is presented. The modeling work is carried out utilizing large eddy simulation (LES). In the experimental work, previous results (Patel et al., Proc Combust Inst 29:1849–1854, 2002) are extended to include simultaneous flame and particle image velocimetry (PIV) measurements of the flow field within the wake of each obstacle. Comparisons between LES predictions and experimental data show a satisfactory agreement in terms of shape of the propagating flame, flame arrival times, spatial profile of the flame speed, pressure time history, and velocity vector fields. Computations through the validated model are also performed to evaluate the effects of both large-scale and sub-grid scale (SGS) vortices on the flame propagation. The results obtained demonstrate that the large vortical structures dictate the evolution of the flame in qualitative terms (shape and structure of the flame, succession of the combustion regimes along the path, acceleration-deceleration step around each obstacle, and pressure time trend). Conversely, the SGS vortices do not affect the qualitative trends. However, it is essential to model their effects on the combustion rate to achieve quantitative predictions for the flame speed and the pressure peak.  相似文献

本文运用激光微细加工技术,通过对不同浓度引发剂的甲基丙烯酸类树脂的聚合行为进行评价,研究了1-甲基-2-[2-(9-戊基-咔唑-3-基)-乙烯基]-3,3-二甲基吲哚碘盐(I)作为双光子光引发剂的聚合特性,结果表明该化合物在扫描速度为44μm/s时,双光子聚合阈值为139kJ/cm2;当激光能量密度为286kJ/cm2时,引发聚合的曝光时间阈值为0.7ms.实验结果为进一步作为双光子聚合三维结构的微细加工提供了可靠依据.  相似文献

研究各流域三维流动问题的Boltzmann模型方程计算方法,建立直接求解分子速度分布函数的气体运动论耦合迭代数值格式;基于变量依赖关系、数据通信与并行可扩展性分析,使用区域分解并行化方法,建立气体运动论数值算法并行方案,发展求解各流域三维绕流问题的气体运动论并行算法.拟定高低不同马赫数下来自不同流域的三维球体及返回舱绕流算例,进行高性能Fortran(HPF)大规模并行计算,将计算结果与有关实验数据、相关理论预测等进行比较分析,研究揭示不同流区复杂绕流现象及流动机理.研究表明,所发展的气体运动论并行算法具有很好的并行独立性,基本达到线性加速的并行效果,显示出良好的并行可扩展性.  相似文献

The longitudinal ultrasonic velocity (Vl), attenuation (ffl), magnetization and resistivity of single phase polycrystalline La1=3Sr2=3CoO3 were measured as a function of temperature from 20 K to 300 K. The resistivity shows metallic behavior in the whole temperature range and a kink at 235 K was observed, which coincides with the ferromagnetic transition temperature (Tc). As the temperature cools down from Tc, the Vl softens conspicuously at beginning and reaches a minimum at 120 K. After that the Vl dramatically stiffens below 120 K accompanied by a wide attenuation peak. The analysis of the results suggests that these ultrasonic anomalies may correspond to local lattice distortions via the Jahn-Teller effect of intermediate spin Co3+.  相似文献

The results of measuring the pressure fluctuations on the wall of the nozzle of a hypersonic wind tunnel beneath a developed turbulent boundary layer are presented for the Mach number M = 7.5. On the basis of a statistical analysis, it is shown that the action of the turbulent flow is dynamically similar to the propagation of a random sequence of wave packets with continuously distributed temporal and spatial scales. Low-frequency disturbances are associated with large-scale structures of long duration that propagate at a mean-statistical velocity similar in value to the outer flow velocity. The continuous generation of weakly-correlated small-scale disturbances ensuring the maintenance and development of turbulence occurs chiefly in the inner region of the boundary layer. Spectral estimates of the power generated by the turbulent flow in the wall region of the boundary layer are presented.  相似文献

Steady propagation of the boundary of a vapor cavity in a layer of a metastable liquid along the heater surface is considered. The temperature and velocity of interface propagation are determined from the equations of conservation of mass, momentum, and energy in the neighborhood of the stagnation point of the vapor cavity and the condition of stability of steady motion of the interface. It is shown that a solution of these equations exists only if the liquid is heated above a threshold value. 用密度泛函理论(DFT) B3LYP方法, 在6-31G*基组水平下, 全优化计算了系列硝胺类和硝基芳烃类爆炸物的几何构型, 用Monte-Carlo方法和自编程序, 基于0.001 e•bohr-3等电子密度面所包围的体积空间求得分子平均摩尔体积(V)和理论密度(ρ). 用Kamlet-Jacobs方程基于理论密度(ρ)和PM3计算生成焓(ΔHf)估算标题物的爆速(D)和爆压(p), 发现多环硝胺类化合物的爆轰性能优于芳烃硝基类化合物, 故此, 在寻求高能量密度材料(HEDM)时, 我们应特别关注多环硝胺化合物. 与ρD文献值比较, 表明本理论计算方法和结果是适用可靠的. 将爆速(D)和爆压(p)计算值与静电感度实验值(EES)进行比较和关联, 发现: 若对化合物进行细致分类讨论, 则它们之间存在较好的线性关系. 据此建议, 在含能材料分子设计中, 可通过理论计算爆轰性质(Dp)去预估难以定量求得或尚未合成的含能材料的静电火花感度值(EES). 此外, 我们还讨论了取代基对ρ, Dp的影响, 也有助于分子设计.  相似文献
