An investigation of the degradation of poly(methyl methacrylate) in the case of negative thixotropy of its solutions in tricresyl phosphate showed that the number of polymer bonds broken by flow as expressed through the decrease of molecular weight in the course of the effect is determined by shear energy imposed on the system, irrespective of the velocity gradient and temperature used.  相似文献

Unconditionally stable formulations of the anisotropic perfectly matched layer (APML) are presented for truncating double negative (DNG) meta-material finite difference time domain (FDTD) grids. In the proposed formulations, the Z-transform theory is employed in the alternating direction implicit FDTD (ADI-FDTD) scheme to obtain update equations for the field components in the DNG meta-material domains. Numerical examples carried out in one dimensional Lorentzian type DNG meta-material domains are included to show the validity of the proposed formulations.  相似文献

By applying the nonequilibrium Green?s function formalism combined with density functional theory, we have investigated the electronic transport properties of two nitrogen-doped armchair graphene nanoribbon-based junctions M1 and M2. In the left part of M1 and M2, nitrogen atoms are doped at two edges of the nanoribbon. In the right part, nitrogen atoms are doped at one edge and at the center for M1 and M2, respectively. Obvious rectifying and negative differential resistance behaviors are found, which are strongly dependent on the doping position. The maximum rectification and peak-to-valley ratios are up to the order of 104 in M2.  相似文献

Reflection and transmission of traveling and evanescent waves by a layer of material with a negative index of refraction (NIM) is studied by means of the Fresnel coefficients. We derive their values in the “NIM limit”, and we show that this limit is consistent with the exact solution. It is also indicated that simply substituting the negative values of the relative permittivity and permeability of the NIM material into the exact solution leads to incorrect results for evanescent waves.  相似文献

The possibility of material design technology to obtain negative refractive indices poses the question on the optical properties of aspherical surfaces made from such media. Here, the special aspherical surfaces connected with Cartesian ovaloides are discussed in the case of a negative refractive index. A subset of the Cartesian ovaloides contains spheres which allow aplanatic imaging in the well-known kind. A sign change of the refractive index shows changes in the virtual character of the aplanatic images.  相似文献

Well‐oriented ZnO nanorods (NRs) arrays were grown on Si, alumina, quartz, and FTO substrates through a ZnO seed layer followed by low temperature wet chemical process. The influence of sputtered ZnO seed layer thickness (100, 50, 32, and 16 nm), annealing temperature and CuOx coverage on the characteristics of ZnO NRs were investigated in this study. The crystalline structural, chemical, morphological, optical, and electrical properties of ZnO NRs arrays were studied by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), field emission‐ scanning electron microscopy equipped by energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (FE‐SEM/EDX), Raman scattering, UV/Vis ‐ near IR absorption spectroscopy and current‐voltage characteristic. XRD and Raman spectra measurement revealed that the synthesize ZnO displayed hexagonal wurtzite structure. The individual rod diameter, density, and orientation can be controlled by varying the seed layer thickness. The mean diameter and maximum length of ZnO NRs are around 55–66 nm and 282 nm, respectively. ZnO NRs/ ZnO thin film structure shows optical switching and negative differential resistance behavior as applicable to ON/OFF gate and memory devices.  相似文献

The poor control and regulation of droplets limit the applications of negative pressure driven droplet generator (NPDDG). Here, we present a simple method to control droplet size in NPDDG via varying the oil viscosity. Depending on the infinite intersolubility of high viscous mineral oil and low viscous hexadecane, we obtain a series of oils with kinematic viscosities linearly varied from 4.2 to 194.6 mm2/s. By using these oils as continuous phases, monodisperse droplets are fabricated with controllable size in NPDDG. This viscosity‐based droplet regulation method is effective, reliable, and compatible with scale‐up processes. Compared with droplet generator driven by positive pressure, the presented method can fabricate hydrogel particles massively, without complicated multilayer chip structure and complex fluid controlling, which may extend the potential of NPDDG in droplets based high‐throughput assay or large‐scale materials synthesis.  相似文献
