Intensity Integration Technique (IIT) is an image correlation technique founded on energy conservation principle to contour reflective surfaces. The sum (integral) of intensities along pixel lines is identified as correlation parameter between the loaded and the unloaded images. At present, this procedure is employed to contour 2D reflective plates aided by projected gridlines onto reflected intensity images. Here, the gridline projection is dispensed with thereby simplifying the experimental procedure, with an iterative algorithm, Iterative Intensity Integration Technique (IIIT), developed to contour deformed reflective plates. In illustration, centrally as well as eccentrically loaded circular plates are studied. As a viable extension of IIIT, a method is suggested for generating digital Moiré fringes with pixel lines as grating lines. 相似文献

Combining speckle interferometry with photoelasticity, the absolute retardation fringes in 3-D model are obtained by interference
of the polarized rays reflected from the two surfaces of a sandwiched plate inside the model. This method can avoid the troubles
introduced by Poisson's ratio μ=0.5 and stress-optical constants' ratioA/B=-2 of the photoelastic material, in a stress-frozen state and yield the results which provide necessary supplementary information

Two methods of sharpening the interference fringes in lateral shear interferometry are described. One method exploits the non-linearity of the recording process, while the other is based on the characteristics of the multiply-recorded diffractive element. In this work, we show that the transmission moiré pattern is two-dimensional autocorrelation of transmission function (2D-ACTF) of two superimposed linear gratings that make a small angle with each other. In this approach, the properties of moiré fringes vs. the relative displacement of the gratings are formulated. By measuring 2D-ACTF of two similar gratings, we evaluate the modulation transfer function (MTF) of the gratings’ generating system. This work is the generalized form of our previous works.
