We investigate the dynamical evolution of a Na8 cluster embedded in Ar matrices of various sizes from N=30 to 1048. The system is excited by an intense short laser pulse leading to high ionization stages.We analyze the subsequent highly non-linear motion of cluster and Ar environment in terms of trajectories, shapes, and energy flow. The most prominent effects are: temporary stabilization of high charge states for several ps, sudden stopping of the Coulomb explosion of the embedded Na8 clusters associated with an extremely fast energy transfer to the Ar matrix, fast distribution of energy throughout the Ar layers by a sound wave. Other ionic-atomic transfer and relaxation processes proceed at slower scale of few ps. The electron cloud is almost thermally decoupled from ions and thermalizes far beyond the ps scale.  相似文献

By means of the nonequilibrium Green function technique, the effect of spin-flip scatterings on the spin-dependent electrical transport in ferromagnet–insulator–ferromagnet (FM–I–FM) tunnel junctions is investigated. It is shown that Jullière's formula for the tunnel conductance must be modified when including the contribution from the spin-flip scatterings. It is found that the spin-flip scatterings could lead to an angular shift of the tunnel conductance, giving rise to the junction resistance not being the largest when the orientations of magnetizations in the two FM electrodes are antiparallel, which may offer an alternative explanation for such a phenomenon observed previously in experiments in some FM–I–FM junctions. The spin-flip assisted tunneling is also observed.  相似文献

The effect of grain size on structural, magnetic and transport properties in electron-doped manganites La0.9Te0.1MnO3 has been investigated. All samples show a rhombohedral structure with the space group at room temperature. The Mn-O-Mn bond angle decreases and the Mn-O bond length increases with the increase of grain size. All samples undergo paramagnetic (PM)-ferromagnetic (FM) phase transitions and the interesting phenomenon that both magnetization and the Curie temperature TC decrease with increasing grain size is observed, which is suggested to mainly originate from the increase of the Mn-O bond length dMn-O. Additionally, ρ obviously increases with decreasing grain size due to the increase of both the height and width of tunneling barriers with decreasing grain size. The results indicate that both the intrinsic colossal magnetoresistance and the extrinsic interfacial magnetoresistance can be effectively tuned in La0.9Te0.1MnO3 by changing grain size.  相似文献

The field-induced carrier redistribution between the subbands of a semiconductor superlattice is treated using the density matrix approach. The unit cell of the superlattice consists of one quantum well with three occupied subbands. Carrier scattering on polar-optical phonons is described within the microscopic bulk phonon model. At the tunneling resonance, an intrinsic population inversion is observed. The temperature dependence of the population inversion is determined. Infrared spectra in the range of 530–1400 cm–1 are presented for tantalum oxide cluster cations (x = 3, 4 and 6). These spectra are obtained via multiple photon dissociation (MPD) spectroscopy of free cluster cations moving in a molecular beam. The IR spectra for are compared to spectra of as well as to the experimental data available for vanadium oxide cluster cations from IR-MPD spectroscopy. For and the IR spectra exhibit very strong similarities (including the band positions), whereas absorption bands in are relatively blue-shifted by about 20–40 cm–1.  相似文献

The exclusive 2H( 3He, t)2p reaction has been studied at 2 GeV for energy transfers up to 500 MeV and triton angles up to 3.4°. The protons were measured in the large acceptance magnetic detector DIOGENE, in coincidence with the forward tritons detected in a dedicated magnetic arm. The energy transfer spectra extend well above the pion threshold. However, in the region of Δ excitation, the yield is less than 10% of the inclusive 2H( 3He, t) cross-section, which indicates the small contribution of the ΔN ↦ NN process. The angular distributions of the two protons in their center of mass have been analysed as a function of energy transfer and triton angle and a Legendre polynomial decomposition has been achieved. These data have been compared to a model based on a coupled-channel approach for describing the NN and NΔ systems. Partial-wave amplitudes for production and decay of baryon resonances are constructed in the framework of the operator expansion method. The approach is fully relativistically invariant and allows us to perform combined analyses of different reactions imposing directly analyticity and unitarity constraints. All formulas are given explicitly in the form used by the Crystal Barrel Collaboration in the (partly forthcoming) analyses of the electro-, photo- and pion-induced meson production data.  相似文献

A combined analysis of photoproduction data on γp↦ πN, ηN was performed including the data on KΛ and KΣ. The data are interpreted in an isobar model with s-channel baryon resonances and π, ρ (ω), K, and K * exchange in the t-channel. Three baryon resonances have a substantial coupling to ηN, the well-known N(1535)S 11, N(1720)P 13, and N(2070)D 15. The inclusion of data with open strangeness reveals evidence for further new resonances, N(1840)P 11, N(1875)D 13 and, with weaker evidence, for N(2170)D 13.  相似文献

We exposed small size-controlled lead clusters with a few hundreds of atoms to laser pulses with peak intensities up to 1015 W cm-2 and durations between 60 fs to 2.5 ps. We measured kinetic energies and ionic charge of fragments as a function of the laser intensity and pulse duration. Highly charged Pbn+ ions up to n = 26 have been detected presenting kinetic energies up to 15 keV. For comparison with our experimental results, we have performed simulations of the laser coupling with a cluster-sized lead nanoplasma using a qualitative model that was initially proposed by Ditmire and co-workers at LLNL for the case of rare gas clusters. From these simulations we conclude that two mechanisms are responsible for the explosion dynamics of small lead clusters. As already observed for large rare gas clusters (n = 106), fragments with charge states below +10 are driven by Coulomb forces, whereas the higher charged fragments are accelerated by hydrodynamic forces. The latter mechanism is a direct consequence of the strong laser heating of the electron cloud in the nanoplasma arising from a plasmon-like resonance occurring at n e = 3n c. In order to obtain an optimized laser-nanoplasma coupling, our results suggest that the plasma resonance should occur at the peak intensity of the laser pulse. Due to inertial effects, even for such small-sized clusters, the observed optimum pulse duration is in the order of 1 ps which is in good agreement with our theoretical results.
