Scattering Parameters of FSS on Anisotropic Layers at Millimeter Wave Frequencies

The analysis of periodic structures on anisotropic substrates is presented for incident millimeter waves. Frequency selective surface structures composed by a periodic array of conducting crossed dipoles on anisotropic layers are analyzed. A full-wave analysis for the problem of scattering is performed. The formulation uses the moment method in combination with the immitance approach, in the Fourier domain, to determine the scattering parameters of the considered structures. A set of entire-domain type basis functions is used in the expansion for the unknown induced current. This analysis is computationally efficient, and its accuracy is verified by the agreement between results obtained in this work and those available in the literature, for particular cases.     

Remarks on Barbashin-Ezeilo Problem on third-order nonlinear differential equations

In this paper, we use the frequency domain criteria to initiate a general result on the Barbashin-Ezeilo Problem on third-order nonlinear differential equation. Earlier ideas of Burkin [I.M. Burkin, Orbital stability of second-kind limiting cycles for dynamical systems with cylindrical phase space, Differential Equations 29 (1993) 1262-1264], Leonov [G.A. Leonov, A frequency criterion for the existence of limit cycles of dynamical systems with cylindrical phase spaces, Differential Equations 23 (1987) 1375-1378] on the problem are being improved upon.     

Simultaneous wavelength conversion and pulse compression exploiting cascaded second-order nonlinear processes in LiNbO3 waveguides

Simultaneous wavelength conversion and pulse compression are proposed and demonstrated exploiting cascaded second-order nonlinear processes in periodically domain-inverted LiNbO₃ waveguides. The influences of initial pulse widths and waveguide length on the conversion efficiency and converted pulse compression are theoretically analyzed. Tunable wavelength conversion is performed for the signal pulse with the temporal width of 7.5 ps and repetition rate of 40 GHz. Conversion efficiency of more than −24 dB is obtained for 35-nm conversion span under average signal power of 10 dBm when a CW control wave is adopted.     

The effects of different dispersion compensation ratios on nonlinear single channel and WDM systems

The effects of the compensation ratio with dispersion post-compensation on nonlinear single channel and WDM systems with 10 Gb/s per channel are numerically investigated. When the transmission signal per channel is 10 Gb/s RZ pulse and the amplifier span is 50 km, proper undercompensation can enhance the performance of the nonlinear single channel system and the nonlinear WDM system. But the enhanced distance of the nonlinear WDM system is not as obvious as that of the single channel system, because the cross-phase-modulation effect plays an important role in the nonlinear WDM system.

本文提出使用频移反馈激光系统测量光学频率差的新方法。实验测得一个Nd:YLF激光器输出的两个纵模的频率差为3.733440GHz,其精度为±5kHz.     

Efficient second, third, fourth, and fifth harmonic generation of a Yb-doped fiber amplifier

We report generation of the second, third, fourth, and fifth harmonics of the output of a Yb-doped fiber amplifier seeded by a passively Q-switched Nd:YAG microchip laser. We obtained high conversion efficiencies using a simple optical arrangement and critically phase-matched nonlinear crystals. Starting with 320 mW of average power at 1064 nm (86 μJ per pulse at a 3.7 kHz repetition rate), we generated 160 mW at 532 nm, 38 mW at 355 nm, 69 mW at 266 nm, and 18 mW at 213 nm. The experimental results are in excellent agreement with calculations.     

衍射光栅的傅里叶分析方法

本文用衍射理论中的傅里叶分析方法,分析光栅在各种不同情况下的夫琅和费衍射现象中,其衍射屏上的复振幅分布、光强分布及频谱分布的规律。对于衍射光栅的应用具有指导意义。     

探测结构材料应力的频率谐振技术

设计和建造大型磁体系统(包括常温和低温超导磁体)是目前核聚变工程中重要的问题之一。而磁体研制的核心问题都与强大机械力的存在有关。因此开展对磁体及结构材料应力的研究工作就显得特别重要。 近年来开始应用声学方法研究磁体中与力有关的问题(例如用声发射技术探测超导磁体的工作情况),已取得了有希望的结果。我们对低温与超导磁体中常用结构材料进行过声发射实验研究,也对目前尚存在争论的“磁体猝灭的声发射预测”问题进行了实验研     

Picosecond time-resolved laser emission of coumarin 102: Solvent relaxation

The time-resolved laser emission of coumarin 102 was investigated in various aprotic and protic solvents at picosecond resolution by frequency upconversion technique. The spectral shift of the transient emission spectrum is attributed to solvent reorientation and the results are discussed.     

Frequency tunability and temporal characteristics of a DAMC distributed feedback dye laser

The frequency tunablity characteristics of a simple prism configuration distributed feedback dye laser (DFDL) pumped by a low pressure nitrogen gas laser are described. Tunability is studied as a function of the refractive index of the dye solution and also as a function of the angle of the interfering beams of the pump laser. The tunability range for the dye studied is from 440 to 480 nm with a spectral width of 0·1 Å and the time duration of the DFDL pulses was 50 ps.
