Colored LiF: an optical material for all seasons   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Colored LiF salt has been always considered a singular optical material among alkali halides and other dielectric crystals for its peculiar characteristics, which in due time have been applied with success in thermoluminescence and laser technology. Lately, while the two previous topics have been revived, new relevant results have been obtained in the optoelectronic field by using both bulk crystals and newly characterized thin films. In practice, miniaturized photoluminescent patterns can be produced rather easily by using low-energy electron beams and soft X-rays. So, LiF salt is becoming a new interesting photonic material with promising developments in basic reasearch and applications as well.  相似文献

Poly[4-(4-hydroxyphenoxy) benzoic acid] was prepared by the bulk polycondensation of 4-(4-acetoxyphenoxy) benzoic acid. Polycondensation was conducted at 350°C for 3 h under a reduced pressure of 0.1 mmHg and gave a polymer with X?n of 255. The polymer was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and wide-angle X-ray measurement. The crystal/nematic and nematic/isotropic phase transition temperatures of polymer, which depend on the molecular weight, were observed at about 300°C and 410°C, respectively. The polymers with low molecular weights showed nematic textures above 300°C. This nematic/isotropic phase transition temperature is lower than that of poly (4-hydroxybenzoic acid). This thermal behavior of polymer comes from ether units, which increase the flexibility (the rotation or torsion of skeletal bonds) of the polymer chain. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

电子自旋共振(ESR)实验间接表明,γ射线辐照能在室温下在BaF2微晶中产生Frenkel激子这样的元激发,此元激发受热在150℃以下消失。γ射线辐照使BaF2微晶中F-离子上的2P电子跃迁到外层轨道,并与2P轨道的空穴形成紧束缚的电子-空穴对——Frenkel激子。激子中的电子受热脱离F原子,这种晶格上的F0是ESR可探测的顺磁色心点缺陷——Vk心。受γ射线辐照的BaF2微晶中含有Frenkel激子,受热时Frenkel激子湮灭。Vk心增多的现象,表现为随温度增高Vk心的ESR信号增强的反常现象。  相似文献

The schlieren interferograms used to be analyzed in a qualitative way. In this paper, by means of the powerful computational ability and the large memory of computer; the image processing method is investigated for the digitalization of an axisymmetric schlieren interferogram and the determination of the density field. This method includes the 2-D low-pass filtering, the thinning of interferometric fringes, the extraction of physical information and the numerical integration of the density field. The image processing results show that the accuracy of the quantitative analysis of the schlieren interferogram can be improved and a lot of time can be saved in dealing with optical experimental results. Therefore, the algorithm used here is useful and efficient.  相似文献

A comparative study of the effects of alkali metal ions Li(+), Na(+), K(+), Rb(+), and Cs(+) on the liquid crystalline organization of high-molecular-weight calf thymus DNA using polarized light microscopy was performed. Major differences in the behavior of Li(+) as compared to the other ions were found. Critical DNA concentration expected to exhibit anisotropic behavior was found to be the same for all the monovalent ions, except for Li(+). DNA initially showed cholesteric textures, which later changed to higher ordered columnar phase for all ions, with the cholesteric-columnar transition facilitated upon increasing the size of the counterion. For Li(+) ion, a nematic schlieren-like texture was formed initially, which after a few days changed to a highly stable (for more than 2 months) biphasic cholesteric-columnar arrangement. The observed differences between Li(+) and other alkali metal ions could be rationalized on the basis of the higher number of hydration water molecules of Li(+) and its complexation behavior. Highly stable DNA mesophases may find applications in the field of nanoelectronics, in designing biosensing units, and in DNA chips.  相似文献

In order to reduce the color quenching in the measurement of tritium in urine by liquid scintillation counting , UV irradiation was applied to decompose the organic substances in the sample. Urine was decolorized under UV irradiation in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. As a result, color quenching was considerably suppressed and higher counting efficiency of tritium was obtained. This UV treatment made it possible to increase the urine content in the sample from 2 to 40% (v/v) without significant decrease of counting efficiency. Either higher sensitivity or shorter analysis time was achieved in the tritium measurement by the augmentation of urine content. When the measurement time was 30 min, the detection limit of tritium defined as 3s was 0.03 Bq/ml. At the expense of some sensitivity (set at a detection limit of 0.3 Bq/ml), the measurement time was shortened to 0.5 min. These results will make a great improvement to routine tritium monitoring as well as to emergency monitoring in mass tritium exposure.   相似文献

Low phonon energy Tm3+/Ho3+/Yb3+ triply doped bismuth tellurite glasses exhibiting multicolor upconversion fluorescences have been fabricated and characterized. The multicolor fluorescence composed of three primary colors green, red and blue upconversion emissions from Ho3+ and Tm3+ has been investigated. By adjusting the excitation power, the fluorescence colors can be tuned from multicolor to white color, and the dependence of color tunability on pump power has been presented in the CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram. With the increase in pumping power, the color coordinates move along the down-left direction and hit the equal energy point. The upconversion and color tunability via changing the pump power of infrared excitation in Tm3+/Ho3+/Yb3+ triply doped bismuth tellurite glasses will lead to new breakthrough in the field of three-dimensional solid-state displays and white-light emitting devices.  相似文献

Integer compositions and related enumeration problems have been of interest to combinatorialists and number theorists for a long time. The cyclic and colored analogues of this concept, although interesting, have not been extensively studied.
