Structure elucidation of triglycerides by chromatographic techniques. Part 1: Capillary GC of ozonized triglycerides

Structure determination of triglycerides according to their number of unsaturated fatty acids (N.U.F.A.) is more easily achieved after ozonolysis of their mixtures (fats and oils) than by capillary gas chromatographic analysis of the mixture as such. Analyses performed before and after ozonolysis of cocoa buttel, hazelnut oil, and a mixture of both fats illustrate the potential of this approach to the structure elucidation of triglycerides by chromatographic techniques.     

An order-disorder transition in Sr2IrD5: Evidence for square pyramidal IrD5 units from powder neutron diffraction data

Neutron diffraction data have been collected on a powdered sample of Sr₂IrD₅ over a range of temperatures. The compound, which is cubic at room temperature, has been found to exhibit a gradual transformation to a tetragonal phase in the temperature range 200-140 K. As a result of the transition, deuterium atoms which randomly occupy sixfold positions in the cubic phase, become tetragonally ordered. A small fraction of the cubic phase remained untransformed at 4.2 K. Both the cubic and tetragonal structures are consistent with square pyramidal IrD₅ units with average Ir---D distances of 1.714 and 1.718 Å, respectively. Agreement factors, R₁, for the two structural analyses are 3.44 and 4.94%.     

Evaluation of the limit of performance of an analytical method based on a statistical calculation of its critical concentrations according to ISO standard 11843: Application to routine control of banned veterinary drug residues in food according to European Decision 657/2002/EC

Traceability of the measurement of analytical parameters capable of evaluating the performance of methods is an important concept for the assessment of quality for the routine control, especially for residue monitoring of non-authorized medicinal substances in food from animal origin. The European Decision no. 657/2002/EC recommends to calculate two statistical limits, CCα and CCβ, which allow to evaluate the critical concentrations above which the method reliably distinguish and quantify a substance taking into account the variability of the method and the statistical risk to take a wrong decision. The calculation, which can be derived from the ISO standard no. 11843 is applied on a routine basis. An example displays a very simple way for evaluating the performance of an LC-MSMS method which has been validated a few years ago and is qualified onto a Micromass Quattro LCZ tandem mass spectrometer to monitor and confirm the nitrofuran metabolite residues in food from animal origin. Synthesis of homoharringtonine and its derivative by partial esterification of cephalotaxine.

Homoharringtonine $\text{2}$ and dehydrodesoxy homoharringtonine $\text{4}$ were synthesized by partial esterification of cephalotaxine.     

The synthesis and structure of potassium cyanotrimethylaluminate

The reaction of KCN with Al(CH₃)₃ to form K[Al(CH₃)₃CN] is greatly facilitated by the presence of an aromatic solvent: for p-xylene a solid complex, K[Al(CH₃)₃CN]·C₆H₄(CH₃)₂, has been isolated. The crystal structure of potassium cyanotrimethylaluminate has been determined from three-dimensional X-ray data measured by counter methods. K[Al(CH₃)₃CN] crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with cell dimensions a = 19.902(7), b = 9.211(4), c = 9.615(4) Å, β = 107.74(5)°, and p_calcd. = 1.09 g cm^?1 for Z = 8. Least squares refinement gave a conventional weighted R factor of 4.9% for 807 independent reflections. The monomeric [Al(CH₃)₃CN]^? units possess no crystallographic symmetry, and the packing in the unit cell is such that the nitrogen atoms on three such units approach the potassium atom to within 3.11 Å. The average aluminum-methyl carbon bond distance is 1.971 (7) Å, while the aluminum-cyano carbon distance is 2.047 (7) Å. This significant lengthening is attributed to partial electron deficiency in the aluminum-cyano carbon bond.     

The regioselectivity of the formation of 2-pyrazolylthiazoles and their precursors from the reaction of 2-hydrazinothiazoles with 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-hetaryl-1,3-butanediones

Reaction of 2-hydrazinothiazoles 1 with 1-thienyl- and 1-furyl-1,3-butanediones 2a,b in methanol in the presence of hydrochloric acid mainly leads to a mixture of pyrazoles 3 and pyrazolines 4 or pyrazoles 3 and 5 in strong acidic conditions. Isomeric hydrazones 6 and pyrazolines 4 were formed and isolated in these reactions in the absence of hydrochloric acid. It has been shown that the regioselectivity in the reaction of diketones 2 with hydrazine 1 is governed by both the concentration of acid and the nature of substituents in the 1,3-diketones 2. Cyclization of hydrazones 6 is shown to occur under milder conditions than dehydration for pyrazolines 4. The new heterocyclic compounds were prepared and fully characterized by NMR spectra and by X-ray analysis for 3c.     

Optimization of inoculum to substrate ratio for enhanced methane yield from leather fleshings in a batch study

One of the most significant issues of the last few decades has been tracing for renewable energy sources. Animal fleshing (ANFL) is the most common proteinaceous solid waste accured during the production of leather and it must be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. This paper is attempts to assess the biogas production from solid waste originating from the chrome based tannery. Anaerobic digestion of these wastes will be a viable option for waste stabilization and energy production in the form of biogas to be utilized in the industry. The bio-methane potential of the wastes were examined by mixing these wastes with various sources of inoculum and different inoculum to substrate (I/S) ratio considered. The batch experiments were carried out in 2.5 l glass reactors with a various source of inoculumviz., Cow Dung (CD), Elephant Dung (ED) and Bio-Digested Slurry (BDS) with varied inoculum to substrate (LFs) ratios for a retention time of 50 days with replications. The results obtained from the experiments showed that BDS:LF (25:75) had the highest gas production of 14505 ml (651.85 ml CH₄g^?1 VS) followed by CD:LF (50:50) produced 12072.5 ml (789.36 ml CH₄g^?1 VS) and ED:LF (75:25) produced 11252.5 ml (1492.08 ml CH₄g^?1 VS)with a methane content of 63.77, 61.92 and 62.72%, respectively.

σ,π-acetylido complexes via P---C bond cleavage of phosphinoacetylenes: X-ray structure of Fe2(CO)6(CCPh)(PPh2)

Solutions of Co^II salts of organic acids in primary amines absorb molecular oxygen rapidly and irreversibly forming μ-dioxygen—cobalt complexes. Thermolysis leads to a homopolar cleavage of the OO bond with subsequent radical reactions involving ligand amine. After thermolysis the capacity of oxygen uptake is reestablished (catalysis).     

内噪声作用下的随机共振算法对弱信号的检测

基于随机共振理论提出了一种简便、有效地检测弱信号的方法。在内噪声协同作用下，通过调节输入噪声信号的大小能较好地提高系统输出信号的信噪比，从而实现检测背景噪声很强的弱信号的目的。应用于模拟信号和实验信号的结果证明了方法是可行的。
