In this paper, the parameters of a p-dimensional linear structural EV (error-in-variable) model are estimated when the coefficients vary with a real variable and the model error is time series. The adjust weighted least squares (AWLS) method is used to estimate the parameters. It is shown that the estimators are weakly consistent and asymptotically normal, and the optimal convergence rate is also obtained. The major difficulty arising in statistics of multi-variable functions is “the curse of dimensionality”: the rates of accuracy in estimation and separation rates in detection problems behave poorly when the number of variables increases. This difficulty arises for most popular functional classes such as Sobolev or Hölder balls.In this paper we consider functional classes of a new type, first introduced by Sloan and Wo?niakowski in 1998. We consider balls F σ,s in a “Sloan—Wo?niakowski” or “weighted Sobolev” space characterized by two parameters: σ > 0 is a “smoothness” parameter, and s > 0 determines the weight sequence which describes “importance” of the variables. Previously Kuo and Sloan [18] used the spaces of similar structure to address the problem of numerical integration.For the classes F σ,s we show that in the white Gaussian noise model, the separation rates in detection are similar to those for one-variable functions of smoothness σ* = min(s,σ) regardless of the original problem dimension; thus the curse of dimensionality is “lifted”. Similar results hold for the estimation problem.The studies are based on known results for estimation and detection problems for ellipsoids. Using these results, the asymptotics in the problems are determined by asymptotics of “distribution of coefficients” of ellipsoids. Abelian -modules and the dual notion of -motives were introduced by Anderson as a generalization of Drinfeld modules. For such Anderson defined and studied the important concept of uniformizability. It is an interesting question and the main objective of the present article to see how uniformizability behaves in families. Since uniformizability is an analytic notion, we have to work with families over a rigid analytic base. We provide many basic results, and in fact a large part of this article concentrates on laying foundations for studying the above question. Building on these, we obtain a generalization of a uniformizability criterion of Anderson and, among other things, we establish that the locus of uniformizability is Berkovich open.

In this paper we present three algorithms for the Motif Identification Problem in Biological Weighted Sequences. The first algorithm extracts repeated motifs from a biological weighted sequence. The motifs correspond to repetitive words which are approximately equal, under a Hamming distance, with probability of occurrence 1/k, where k is a small constant. The second algorithm extracts common motifs from a set of N2 weighted sequences. In this case, the motifs consists of words that must occur with probability 1/k, in 1qN distinct sequences of the set. The third algorithm extracts maximal pairs from a biological weighted sequence. A pair in a sequence is the occurrence of the same word twice. In addition, the algorithms presented in this paper improve previous work on these problems. 相似文献

In this paper, the authors prove the existence of solutions for degenerate elliptic equations of the form-div(a(x)▽_p u(x)) = g(λ, x, |u|~(p-2)u) in R~N, where ▽_pu =|▽u|~(p-2)▽u and a(x) is a degenerate nonnegative weight. The authors also investigate a related nonlinear eigenvalue problem obtaining an existence result which contains information about the location and multiplicity of eigensolutions. The proofs of the main results are obtained by using the critical point theory in Sobolev weighted spaces combined with a Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg-type inequality and by using a specific minimax method, but without making use of the Palais-Smale condition. 相似文献
