In this paper, a fast second‐order accurate difference scheme is proposed for solving the space–time fractional equation. The temporal Caputo derivative is approximated by ?L2 ‐1σ formula which employs the sum‐of‐exponential approximation to the kernel function appeared in Caputo derivative. The second‐order linear spline approximation is applied to the spatial Riemann–Liouville derivative. At each time step, a fast algorithm, the preconditioned conjugate gradient normal residual method with a circulant preconditioner (PCGNR), is used to solve the resulting system that reduces the storage and computational cost significantly. The unique solvability and unconditional convergence of the difference scheme are shown by the discrete energy method. Numerical examples are given to verify numerical accuracy and efficiency of the difference schemes. 相似文献

A new supplier price break and discount scheme taking into account order frequency and lead time is introduced and incorporated into an integrated inventory planning model for a serial supply chain that minimizes the overall incurred cost including procurement, inventory holding, production, and transportation. A mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) formulation is presented addressing this multi-period, multi-supplier, and multi-stage problem with predetermined time-varying demand for the case of a single product. Then, the length of the time period is considered as a variable. A new MILP formulation is derived when each period of the model is split into multiple sub-periods, and under certain conditions, it is proved that the optimal solution and objective value of the original model form a feasible solution and an upper bound for the derived model. In a numerical example, three scenarios of the derived model are solved where the number of sub-period is set to 2, 3, and 4. The results further show the decrease of the optimal objective value as the length of the time period is shortened. Sufficient evidence demonstrates that the length of the time period has a significant influence on supplier selection, lot sizing allocation, and inventory planning decisions. This poses the necessity of the selection of appropriate length of a time period, considering the trade-off between model complexity and cost savings. 相似文献

In the present study, the operator splitting techniques based on the quintic B‐spline collocation finite element method are presented for calculating the numerical solutions of the Rosenau–KdV–RLW equation. Two test problems having exact solutions have been considered. To demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the present methods, the error norms L2 and L∞ with the discrete mass Q and energy E conservative properties have been calculated. The results obtained by the method have been compared with the exact solution of each problem and other numerical results in the literature, and also found to be in good agreement with each other. We consider the hard‐core model on finite triangular lattices with Metropolis dynamics. Under suitable conditions on the triangular lattice sizes, this interacting particle system has 3 maximum‐occupancy configurations and we investigate its high‐fugacity behavior by studying tunneling times, that is, the first hitting times between these maximum‐occupancy configurations, and the mixing time. The proof method relies on the analysis of the corresponding state space using geometrical and combinatorial properties of the hard‐core configurations on finite triangular lattices, in combination with known results for first hitting times of Metropolis Markov chains in the equivalent zero‐temperature limit. In particular, we show how the order of magnitude of the expected tunneling times depends on the triangular lattice sizes in the low‐temperature regime and prove the asymptotic exponentiality of the rescaled tunneling time leveraging the intrinsic symmetry of the state space. 相似文献

In this paper, time‐splitting spectral approximation technique has been proposed for Chen‐Lee‐Liu (CLL) equation involving Riesz fractional derivative. The proposed numerical technique is efficient, unconditionally stable, and of second‐order accuracy in time and of spectral accuracy in space. Moreover, it conserves the total density in the discretized level. In order to examine the results, with the aid of weighted shifted Grünwald‐Letnikov formula for approximating Riesz fractional derivative, Crank‐Nicolson weighted and shifted Grünwald difference (CN‐WSGD) method has been applied for Riesz fractional CLL equation. The comparison of results reveals that the proposed time‐splitting spectral method is very effective and simple for obtaining single soliton numerical solution of Riesz fractional CLL equation. 相似文献

In order to investigate the impact of awareness programs and time delays on the cholera outbreaks, we propose a cholera epidemic model, incorporating awareness programs by media as a separate class and two time‐delay factors. The bifurcation theory is applied to explore the variety of dynamics of this model for various combinations of the delays when R0>1. Moreover, we analyze the direction, stability, and period of the bifurcating periodic solutions arising through Hopf bifurcation by using the normal form concept and the center manifold theory. We study a stochastic model for the spread of two pathogen strains—termed type 1 and type 2—among a homogeneously mixing community consisting of a finite number of individuals. In the model, we assume partial cross‐immunity, exogenous streams of infection, and that the degree of severity of a newly infective individual depends on who this infective individual was infected by. The aim is to characterize the joint probability distribution of the numbers M1 and M2 of type‐1 and type‐2 infections suffered by a focal individual during an outbreak of the disease. We present iterative procedures for computing the probability mass function of (M1,M2) under the assumption that the initial state of the focal individual is known, and a numerical study of the model is performed to investigate the influence of certain key parameters on the spread of resistant bacteria in hospitals. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior analysis of solutions to a multidimensional wave equation. Assuming that there is no displacement term in the system and taking into consideration the presence of distributed or discrete time delay, we show that the solutions exponentially converge to their stationary state. We introduce a new class of the so‐called regularly varying sequences with respect to τ and state its properties. This class, on one hand, generalizes regularly varying sequences. On the other hand, it refines them and makes it possible to do a more sophisticated analysis in applications. We show a close connection with regular variation on time scales; thanks to this relation, we can use the existing theory on time scales to develop discrete regular variation with respect to τ. We reveal also a connection with generalized regularly varying functions. As an application, we study asymptotic behavior of solutions to linear difference equations; we obtain generalization and extension of known results. The theory also yields, in some way, a new view on the tests for convergence and divergence of series; we establish the statement that generalizes Raabe test and Bertrand test. 相似文献
