Classification of graded Hecke algebras for complex reflection groups

The graded Hecke algebra for a finite Weyl group is intimately related to the geometry of the Springer correspondence. A construction of Drinfeld produces an analogue of a graded Hecke algebra for any finite subgroup of GL(V). This paper classifies all the algebras obtained by applying Drinfeld's construction to complex reflection groups. By giving explicit (though nontrivial) isomorphisms, we show that the graded Hecke algebras for finite real reflection groups constructed by Lusztig are all isomorphic to algebras obtained by Drinfeld's construction. The classification shows that there exist algebras obtained from Drinfeld's construction which are not graded Hecke algebras as defined by Lusztig for real as well as complex reflection groups. An algorithm for the divisors of monic polynomials over a commutative ring

Gilmer and Heinzer proved that given a reduced ring R, a polynomial f divides a monic polynomial in R[X] if and only if there exists a direct sum decomposition of R = R₀ ⊕ … ⊕ R_m (m ≤ deg f), associated to a fundamental system of idempotents e₀, … , e_m, such that the component of f in each R_i[X] has degree coefficient which is a unit of R_i. We propose to give an algorithm to explicitly find such a decomposition. Moreover, we extend this result to divisors of doubly monic Laurent polynomials.     

Stopping times for quantum Markov chains

In the paper we introduce stopping times for quantum Markov states. We study algebras and maps corresponding to stopping times, give a condition of strong Markov property and give classification of projections for the property of accessibility. Our main result is a new recurrence criterium in terms of stopping times (Theorem 1 and Corollary 2). As an application of the criterium we study how, in Section 6, the quantum Markov chain associated with the one-dimensional Heisenberg (usually non-Markovian) process, obtained from this quantum Markov chain by restriction to a diagonal subalgebra, is such that all its states are recurrent. We were not able to obtain this result from the known recurrence criteria of classical probability.Supported by GNAFA-CNR, Bando n. 211.01.25.     

Recollements of extension algebras

Let A be a finite-dimensional algebra over arbitrary base field k. We prove: if the unbounded derived module category D-(Mod-A) admits symmetric recollement relative to unbounded derived module categories of two finite-dimensional k-algebras B and C:D- (Mod - B) D-(Mod - A) D-(Mod - C),then the unbounded derived module category D-(Mod - T(A)) admits symmetric recollement relative to the unbounded derived module categories of T(B) and T(C):D-(Mod - T(B)) D-(Mod - T(A)) D-(Mod -T(C)).

What is the Rees algebra of a module?

In this paper we show that the Rees algebra can be made into a functor on modules over a ring in a way that extends its classical definition for ideals. The Rees algebra of a module may be computed in terms of a ``maximal' map from to a free module as the image of the map induced by on symmetric algebras. We show that the analytic spread and reductions of can be determined from any embedding of into a free module, and in characteristic 0--but not in positive characteristic!--the Rees algebra itself can be computed from any such embedding.
