Reducing system of parameters and the Cohen-Macaulay property

Let R be a local ring and let (x ₁, …, x _r) be part of a system of parameters of a finitely generated R-module M, where r < dim_R M. We will show that if (y ₁, …, y _r) is part of a reducing system of parameters of M with (y ₁, …, y _r) M = (x ₁, …, x _r) M then (x ₁, …, x _r) is already reducing. Moreover, there is such a part of a reducing system of parameters of M iff for all primes P ε Supp M ∩ V _R(x ₁, …, x _r) with dim_R R/P = dim_R M − r the localization M _P of M at P is an r-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay module over R _P. Furthermore, we will show that M is a Cohen-Macaulay module iff y _d is a non zero divisor on M/(y ₁, …, y _d−1) M, where (y ₁, …, y _d) is a reducing system of parameters of M (d:= dim_R M).     

Analysis of the characteristics of a two-fiber sensor for monitorship of a turbid medium

Summary Certain characteristics of a two-fiber sensor device, of the type proposed by Papaet al. for sea water turbidity monitorship, are examined. The extension of medium from which most of the received backscattered power originates is investigated, together with possible effects of multiple scattering on the received power. Laboratory measurements testing the results of the analysis are reported.

Riassunto Sono esaminate alcune caratteristiche di un sensore a due fibre, del tipo di quello proposto da Papaet al. per il monitoraggio della torbidità dell'acqua di mare. è stata studiata l'estensione della zona del mezzo da cui proviene la maggior parte della radiazione retrodiffusa ricevuta. Sono stati considerati effetti di diffusione multipla. I risultati dell'analisi sono stati controllati con misure in laboratorio.

Резюме Исследуются некоторые характеристики дву-qh-нитевого датчика, предложенного Папа и др. для мониторирования мутности морской воды. Исследуется расширение зоны в среде, из которой формируется основная часть рассеянного назад излучения. Также рассматриваются эффекты многократного рассеяния. На основе лабораторных измерений проводится проверка результатов анализа.

     

聚丙烯微孔膜的等离子体接枝聚合改性

利用拉伸时的晶型转变致孔特性,从β晶相聚丙烯经单向或双向拉伸制得了新型聚丙烯微孔膜、用等离子体接枝聚合技术接上了亲水性聚合物如聚丙烯酸、聚丙烯腈等。研究了等离子体处理时间、单体性质对得到的亲水膜的亲水性、离子/溶质渗透性的影响。发现接枝聚丙烯酸的双向拉伸膜对Na~+、Mg~(++),尿素有较大的渗透性,并具有优良的形状稳定性。     

A method for determining optical constants, dimensions, and concentrations of “soft” absorbing particles in the brightening band region

We investigate the possibilities of creating a method for estimating the optical constants, dimensions, and concentrations of “soft” absorbing particles by applying a theoretical analysis of the angular dependence of the intergrated indicatrix, overall characteristics of light scattering, and absorption on the phase shift and diffraction parameter of particles in the brightening band region. We show that using the investigated optical characteristics, it is possible to determine the unknown parameters of a suspension from experimental data. Boundary-Value Problem of Drainage in a Fresh Groundwater Fringe above Saline Groundwater

A multiparameter boundary-value problem of fresh infiltration water seepage in a drained fringe above quiescent saline water is solved in the direct statement and studied in detail.     

Helmholtz potentiality conditions for systems of difference-differential equations

For operators corresponding to systems ofμth-order difference-differential equations of neutral type, necessary and sufficient conditions for potentiality with respect to the classical bilinear form are obtained. Approximate controllability for trajectories of semilinear control systems

We treat an abstract semilinear control system and study the controllability problem for its trajectories. Assuming a range condition of the control action operator and an inequality condition on the system parameters, we can show that the reachable trajectory set of the semilinear system is equivalent to that of its corresponding linear system.The author wishes to express his deep appreciation to Prof. T. Guaranteed-accuracy approximation of reachable sets for a linear dynamic system subject to impulse actions

A method is proposed for approximating the reachable set of a dynamic system with a state space dimension no higher than six-eight considered on a finite time interval. The system is governed by linear differential equations with piecewise constant coefficients and impulse actions specified at prescribed times. The method is based on guaranteed-accuracy polyhedral approximations of reachable sets at researcher-specified times. Every approximation is constructed using the preceding one. A procedure is described for choosing parameters of the method that ensure the required accuracy with close-to-minimal time costs.
