Global stability of a three-dimensional bio-reactor with inhibition responses

A three-dimensional bio-reactor model of exploitative competition of two predator organisms with inhibition responses for the same renewable organism with reproductive properties is considered. By constructing a modified Lyapunov function and using LaSalle’s invariant principle, it is shown that the lower “break-even” concentration predator organism survives in the competition.      

On solving the maximum clique problem

The Maximum Clique Problem (MCP) is regarded here as the maximization of an indefinite quadratic form over the canonical simplex. For solving MCP an algorithm based upon Global Optimality Conditions (GOC) is applied. Furthermore, each step of the algorithm is analytically investigated and tested. The computational results for the proposed algorithm are compared with other Global Search approaches.     

On existence and local attractivity of solutions of a quadratic Volterra integral equation of fractional order

In the paper we study the existence of solutions of a nonlinear quadratic Volterra integral equation of fractional order. This equation is considered in the Banach space of real functions defined, continuous and bounded on an unbounded interval. Moreover, we show that solutions of this integral equation are locally attractive.     

Global stability and the Hopf bifurcation for some class of delay differential equation

In this paper, we present an analysis for the class of delay differential equations with one discrete delay and the right‐hand side depending only on the past. We extend the results from paper by U. Fory? (Appl. Math. Lett. 2004; 17 (5):581–584), where the right‐hand side is a unimodal function. In the performed analysis, we state more general conditions for global stability of the positive steady state and propose some conditions for the stable Hopf bifurcation occurring when this steady state looses stability. Global solvability for a large flux of a three‐dimensional time‐dependent Navier–Stokes problem in a straight cylinder

The unique global existence of a solution to nonstationary Navier–Stokes system with prescribed nonzero flux F(t) in an infinite three‐dimensional pipe is proved. The obtained solution remains close to the corresponding nonstationary Poiseuille flow. Moreover, it converges to the Poiseuille flow as |x₃|→∞. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

半导体模型中退化漂移—扩散问题解的存在性

研究半导体物理中出现的漂移—扩散模型,这是一个关于带电粒子浓度n,p,静电位ψ的抛物—椭圆耦合方程组,并带有混合初边值条件.对初值在L2+(Ω)时弱解的存在性展开讨论,利用正则化方法和适当的函数变换,使抛物型方程的解具有正下界n,p≥ε>0,同时得到一系列先验估计.然后通过紧性引理和Schauder不动点定理,得到初值在L2+(Ω)时弱解的存在性.     

Compressible navier-stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity, vacuum and gravitational force in the case of general pressure

This is a continuation of the article（Comm.Partial Differential Equations 26（2001）965）.In this article,the authors consider the one-dimensional compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with gravitational force,fixed boundary condition,a general pressure and the density-dependent viscosity coefficient when the viscous gas connects to vacuum state with a jump in density.Precisely,the viscosity coefficient μ is proportional to ρ^θ and 0〈θ〈1/2,where ρ is the density,and the pressure P=P（ρ）is a general pressure.The global existence and the uniqueness of weak solution are proved.
