非线性最小二乘问题的信赖域方法

本文提出一个新的非线性最小二乘的信赖域方法,在该方法中每个信赖域子问题只需要一次求解,而且每次迭代的一维搜索步长因子是给定的,避开一维搜索的环节,大大地提高了算法效率.文中证明了在一定的条件下算法的全局收敛性.     

An invariance of geometric mean with respect to Lagrangian means

The invariance of the geometric mean G with respect to the Lagrangian mean-type mapping (Lf,Lg), i.e. the equation G○(Lf,Lg)=G, is considered. We show that the functions f and g must be of high class regularity. This fact allows to reduce the problem to a differential equation and determine the second derivatives of the generators f and g.     

Monotonic solutions of a quadratic integral equation of fractional order

In the paper we indicate an error made in the proof of the main result of the paper [M.A. Darwish, On quadratic integral equation of fractional orders, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 311 (2005) 112-119]. Moreover, we provide correct proof of a slightly modified version of the mentioned result. The main tool used in our proof is the technique associated with the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness.     

Higher discriminants of binary forms

期权定价的局部线性预测法

在为期权定价时,使用B-S公式算得的结果和市场交易值存在一定偏差.本文针对这一问题,给出了一种新的期权定价数值方法,即局部线性预测法.并用股票期权的实际交易数据对这一方法进行了数值验证,表明这一方法是有效的.     

A new formula for the saddle-to-scission time

We propose a new formula for the saddle-to-scission time that is more general that the one based on Kramers' approach. Its validity and applicability is then studied in detail. Such a formula is useful for the evaluation of the fission time of very heavy nuclei.     

III-V compound semiconductor (001) surfaces

There has been renewed interest in the structure of III-V compound semiconductor (001) surfaces caused by recent experimental and theoretical findings, which indicate that geometries different from the seemingly well-established dimer models describe the surface ground state for specific preparation conditions. I review briefly the structure information available on the (001) surfaces of GaP, InP, GaAs and InAs. These data are complemented with first-principles total-energy calculations. The calculated surface phase diagrams are used to explain the experimental data and reveal that the stability of specific surface structures depends largely on the relative size of the surface constituents. Several structural models for the Ga-rich GaAs (001)(4×6) surface are discussed, but dismissed on energetic grounds. I discuss in some detail the electronic properties of the recently proposed cation-rich GaAs (001)ζ(4×2) geometry. Superconductivity in the intermetallic compound YRhAl

The intermetallic compound, YRhAl, has been prepared and is found to be isomorphic with RRhAl (R=Pr, Nd, Gd, Ho and Tm) compounds crystallizing in the orthorhombic TiNiSi-type structure (space group Pnma). Heat capacity and electrical resistivity measurements in the He-3 temperature range reveal that this compound is superconducting with a transition temperature, T_c, of 0.9 K. The electronic specific heat coefficient, γ, and the Debye temperature are found to be 6.1 mJ/mol K and 197 K, respectively. The specific heat jump at the superconducting transition is found to be consistent with the BCS weak-coupling limit. This combined with the earlier observation of superconductivity in LaRhAl (T_c=2.4 K) having a different structure than that of YRhAl, suggests that the underlying structure is not very crucial for the occurrence of superconductivity in RRhAl series of compounds.     

Numerical Approximation and Error Analysis for the Timoshenko Beam Equations with Boundary Feedback

In this paper,the numerical approximation of a Timoshenko beam with bound- ary feedback is considered.We derived a linearized three-level difference scheme on uniform meshes by the method of reduction of order for a Timoshenko beam with boundary feedback.It is proved that the scheme is uniquely solvable,unconditionally stable and second order convergent in L_∞norm by using the discrete energy method. A numerical example is presented to verify the theoretical results.     

GLOBAL WEAK SOLUTIONS OF THE RELATIVISTIC VLASOV-KLEIN-GORDON SYSTEM IN TWO DIMENSIONS

In this paper we consider the system of classical particles coupled with a Klein-Gordon field in two dimensions.We establish a-priori-bounds on the solutions of this system with initial data satisfying a size restriction derived from conservation of energy.This result,together with the smoothing of"velocity averaging",yields the existence of global weak solutions to the corresponding restricted initial value problem.The size restriction is necessary since energy of the system is indefinite.Finally,we show that the weak solutions preserve the total mass.
