Oxygen-ion conduction in apatite-like compounds based on silicates and germanates of lanthanum La x A6O12 + 1.5x (A = Si, Ge; x = 9.11–10.22) is studied. The compounds are shown to be purely ionic conductors at 600–900°C and partial oxygen pressures 10?16 to 105 Pa. The electroconductivity of the best conducting specimens of La x A6O12 + 1.5x (A = Si, Ge; x = 9.77–10) exceeds that of electrolyte YSZ at moderate temperatures. The electroconductivity of lanthanum germanate is substantially greater than that of lanthanum silicate, specifically, 7.85 × 10?2 and 2.35 × 10?2 S cm?1, respectively, at 800°C. An inflection is discovered at ~750°C in the temperature dependences of electroconductivity of La x Ge6O12 + 1.5x (x = 9.77–10.22). A dilatometric examination points to a second-kind phase transition that may be due to the oxygen sublattice disordering. The behavior of apatite-like electrolytes La x A6O12 + 1.5x (A = Si, Ge) during long exploitation periods in the interval of working temperatures of electrochemical devices is studied for the first time ever. The electrolytes’ aging at 800°C in air for 1000 h was investigated by the electroconductivity method. The electroconductivity of lanthanum germanates decayed with time by 5% and that of lanthanum silicates, by 9.5%. The steady-state values of electroconductivity of all compounds studied is reached after 600–700 h. The compounds studied form a class of materials that hold some promise as solid electrolytes for medium-temperature fuel cells and other electrochemical devices. 相似文献

It is of engineering importance to accurately predict the surface cooling characteristics in bath quenching of metals and alloys. In this investigation, the surface cooling characteristics in quenching of Wolfson probe are estimated with reasonable accuracy by solving an inverse heat conduction problem. Regularization method is used for smoothening the input temperature measurements at probe center, for superior inversion estimates. The reverse pool-boiling curve is captured on bath quenching characteristic, plotted as cooling velocity versus surface temperature. This paper outlines the development and adaptation of a coupling strategy for transient temperature analysis in a solid via a conjugate heat transfer method. This study proposes a quasi‐dynamic coupling procedure to bridge the temporal disparities between the fluid and the solid. In this approach, dynamic thermal modeling in the solid is coupled with a sequence of steady states in the fluid. This quasi‐dynamic algorithm has been applied to the problem of convective heat transfer over, and transient conduction heat transfer within, a flat plate using the severe thermal conditions of a solid propellant rocket. Two different coupled thermal computations have been performed. In the first one—referred to as the reference computation—the coupling period is equal to the smallest solid time constant. In the second one, a very large coupling period is used. The results show that the procedure can predict accurate transient temperature fields at a reasonable computational cost. The simulation CPU time is approximately reduced by up to 90%, while maintaining a very good accuracy. All the details of the numerical test case are given in the paper. This application illustrates the capabilities and the overall efficiency of this coupled approach in a solid transient problem using long term simulations of time dependent flows. A numerical/experimental inverse procedure was employed to estimate the temperature-dependent thermal conductivity of a solid body in which 1D heat conduction in a top heated cylindrical sample is assumed. The emphasis is focused on the issue of sensitivity of results to selected assumptions made in inverse calculations. It has been found that the accuracy of heat capacity evaluation brings the largest contribution to final errors (up to 74%). Density accounts for one-fourth to one-third of the total error of determination. The failure to ensure unidirectional heat conduction in a sample during an experiment is important only at elevated temperatures. 相似文献

In this work, a novel synthetic path for preparing semi‐armotic components modified polyamide 6 was developed by caprolactam as solvent of purified terephthalic acid and 1,6‐hexanediamine. First, the ring opening reaction and poly‐addition of caprolactam were initiated by 1,6‐hexanediamine to generate a prepolymer containing amino groups in both ends, then followed by the poly‐condensation reaction with purified terephthalic acid, a long chain copolymer was produced, which the reaction time was reduced by 4 h compared with conventional hydrolytic ring‐opening polymerization of pure caprolactam. By varying the ratio of terephthalic acid and 1,6‐hexanediamine, a series of copolymers with different number average molecular weight and physical properties were prepared. Analytical results showed that the conversion percentage of caprolactam is significantly increased by the proposed method. Furthermore, this new copolymers exhibited excellent transparence and high decomposition temperature. Besides, the copolymers with average molecular weight ≥15,000 present good mechanical properties, making it a potentially useful application in plastics, textile yarn, and membranes. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
