Ruin probability for correlated negative risk sums model with Erlang processes

This paper studies a Sparre Andersen negative risk sums model in which the distribution of ＂interclaim＂ time is that of a sum of n independent exponential random variables. Thus, the Erlang（n） model is a special case. On this basis the correlated negative risk sums process with the common Erlang process is considered. Integro-differential equations with boundary conditions for ψ（u） are given. For some special cases a closed-form expression for ψ（u） is derived.     

Inversion of the wavelet transform using Riemannian sums

We study the approximation of the inverse wavelet transform using Riemannian sums. For a large class of wavelet functions, we show that the Riemannian sums converge to the original function as the sampling density tends to infinity. When the analysis and synthesis wavelets are the same, we also give some necessary conditions for the Riemannian sums to be convergent.     

Lattice points in rational ellipsoids

We combine exponential sums, character sums and Fourier coefficients of automorphic forms to improve the best known upper bound for the lattice error term associated to rational ellipsoids.

A note on supercomplete spaces

In a recent paper [3], D. Buhagiar and B. A. Pasynkov introduced the notion of a supercomplete space and established an internal characterization of these spaces. It is clear that the proof of this characterization actually characterizes c--supercomplete spaces. In this short note we state the correct formulation and give a counterexample. Strong law of large numbers for pair-wise extended lower/upper negatively dependent random variables

We establish some strong limit theorems for a sequence of pair-wise extended lower/upper negatively dependent random variables and give some new examples of dependent random variables.     

Universal sums of three quadratic polynomials

Let a,b,c,d,e and f be integers with a≥ c≥ e> 0,b>-a and b≡a(mod 2),d>-c and d≡c(mod 2),f>-e and f≡e(mod 2).Suppose that b≥d if a=c,and d≥f if c=e.When b(a-b),d(c-d) and f(e-f) are not all zero,we prove that if each n∈N={0,1,2,...} can be written as x(ax+b)/2+y(cy+d)/2+z(ez+f)/2 with x,y,z∈N then the tuple(a,b,c,d,e,f) must be on our list of 473 candidates,and show that 56 of them meet our purpose.When b∈[0,a),d∈[0,c) and f∈[0,e),we investigate the universal tuples(a,b,c,d,e,f) over Z for which any n∈N can be written as x(ax+b)/2+y(cy+d)/2+z(ez+f)/2 with x,y,z∈Z,and show that there are totally 12,082 such candidates some of which are proved to be universal tuples over Z.For example,we show that any n∈N can be written as x(x+1)/2+y(3y+1)/2+z(5z+1)/2 with x,y,z∈Z,and conjecture that each n∈N can be written as x(x+1)/2+y(3y+1)/2+z(5z+1)/2 with x,y,z∈N.     

On the Character Sum of Polynomials and the Two-term Exponential Sums

The main purpose of this paper is using the analytic method and the properties of the character sums to study the computational problem of one kind hybrid power mean involving the character sums of polynomials and the two-term exponential sums,and give several interesting identities and asymptotic formulae for them.     

Type,cotype and twisted sums induced by complex interpolation

This paper deals with extensions or twisted sums of Banach spaces that come induced by complex interpolation and the relation between the type and cotype of the spaces in the interpolation scale and the nontriviality and singularity of the induced extension. The results are presented in the context of interpolation of families of Banach spaces, and are applied to the study of submodules of Schatten classes. We also obtain nontrivial extensions of spaces without the CAP which also fail the CAP.
