Long vectors for quasi-Newton updates

This work concerns the derivation of formulae for updating quasi-Newton matrices used in algorithms for computing approximate minima of smooth unconstrained functions. The paper concentrates strictly on the techniques used to derive update formulae. It demonstrates a technique in which problems of finding matrices in ℝ ^{n ×n} of minimum Frobenius norm are converted to equivalent problems, using vector representations in ℝ ⁿ² and ℝ ^n(n+1)/2 of these matrices, and then solvingl ₂-minimization problems. These problems are more directly dealt with, and indeed, the paper demonstrates how this technique may be used to handle weighted sparse updates.     

Resonance expansions in quantum mechanics

The goal of this contribution is to discuss various resonance expansions that have been proposed in the literature. Presented at the 3rd International Workshop “Pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonians in Quantum Physics”, Istanbul, Turkey, June 20–22, 2005.     

On natural homomorphisms of Witt rings

We prove that the kernel of the ring homomorphism between the Witt ring of any order of a global field and the Witt ring of the field is a nilideal.

多节摆的自由振动分析

利用拉格朗日方程,导出了多节摆系统的运动微分方程.根据三对角阵的性质,给出了振动系统的特征多项式和特征矢量的递推公式,并以三节摆为例,说明了结果的应用,用此方法验证了<力学与实践>2002年第24期<多自由度振动系统的简正坐标和简正振动模式>一文中的结果.     

On the completeness of root vectors generated by systems of coupled hyperbolic equations

The paper is the second in a set of two papers, which are devoted to a unified approach to the problem of completeness of the generalized eigenvectors (the root vectors) for a specific class of linear non‐selfadjoint unbounded matrix differential operators. The list of the problems for which such operators are the dynamics generators includes the following: (a) initial boundary‐value problem (IBVP) for a non‐homogeneous string with both distributed and boundary damping; (b) IBVP for small vibrations of an ideal filament with a one‐parameter family of dissipative boundary conditions at one end and with a heavy load at the other end; this filament problem is treated for two cases of the boundary parameter: non‐singular and singular; (c) IBVP for a three‐dimensional damped wave equation with spherically symmetric coefficients and both distributed and boundary damping; (d) IBVP for a system of two coupled hyperbolic equations constituting a Timoshenko beam model with variable coefficients and boundary damping; (e) IBVP for a coupled Euler‐Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam model with boundary energy dissipation (the model known in engineering literature as bending‐torsion vibration model); (f) IBVP for two coupled Timoshenko beams model, which is currently accepted as an appropriate model describing vibrational behavior of a longer double‐walled carbon nanotube. Problems have been discussed in the first paper of the aforementioned set. Problems are discussed in the present paper.     

A combinatorial proof of the Kronecker–Weber Theorem in positive characteristic

In this paper we present a combinatorial proof of the Kronecker–Weber Theorem for global fields of positive characteristic. The main tools are the use of Witt vectors and their arithmetic developed by H.L. Schmid. The key result is to obtain, using counting arguments, how many p-cyclic extensions exist of fixed degree and bounded conductor where only one prime ramifies. We then compare this number with the number of subextensions of cyclotomic function fields of the same type and verify that these two numbers are the same.     

Chaotic polynomials on Banach spaces

We show the existence of chaotic (in the sense of Devaney) polynomials on Banach spaces of q-summable sequences. Such polynomials P consist of composition of the backward shift with a certain fixed polynomial p of one complex variable on each coordinate. In general we also prove that P is chaotic in the sense of Auslander and Yorke if and only if 0 belongs to the Julia set of p.     

超声全矩阵数据联合稀疏重构的多测量向量模型应用

针对单测量向量模型(Single Measurement Vector,SMV)等传统压缩感知方法处理超声全矩阵数据时,存在重构精度低和重构耗时长等问题,本文研究了多测量向量模型(Multiple Measurement Vectors,MMV)应用的可行性。针对铝合金试块中不同深度的φ2 mm横通孔,分别使用MMV模型中的多测量稀疏贝叶斯(Multiple Sparse Bayesian Learning,MSBL)算法和SMV模型中的稀疏贝叶斯(Sparse Bayesian Learning,SBL)算法进行超声全矩阵数据重构,并实施全聚焦成像。随后,引入归一化均方误差和阵列性能因子评价图像和信号的重构效果。实验结果表明,SBL算法在25%采样率时的归一化均方误差为1.9%,而MSBL算法仅需15%采样率即可达到相似效果且耗时更少。     

子结构Ritz向量综合法

讨论了在动态子结构法中应用静态Ｒｉｔｚ向量替代模态向量时所应考虑的基本问题，即如何合理地定义荷载空间分布向量｛ｆ（ｓ）｝，以避免在子结构中出现低阶模态不连续分布的情况。文中给出了在自由子结构和约束子结构内进行Ｒｉｔｚ变换的一般形式及修正公式。算例表明：应用子结构Ｒｉｔｚ向量综合技术能有效地提高线性结构模态分析的计算效率
