This paper studies the impact of management policies, such as product allocation and campaign sizing, on the required size of the finished goods inventories in a multi-product multi-reactor batch process. Demand, setup and batch processing times for these products are assumed to be stochastic, and the inventory buffer for every product type needs to be such that target customer service levels are met. To perform this analysis, we develop a queueing model that allows us to explicitly estimate service levels as a function of the buffer size, and the allocation/campaign sizing policies. This model can be used to evaluate the service level given an existing buffer configuration, as well as to determine the buffer sizes required across products to meet a pre-specified service level. It also allows us to formulate a number of insights into how product allocation decisions and campaign planning policies affect buffer sizing decisions in symmetric production systems.  相似文献

Two algorithms for finding a global minimum of the product of two affine fractional functions over a compact convex set and solving linear fractional programs with an additional constraint defined by the product of two affine fractional functions are proposed. The algorithms are based on branch and bound techniques using an adaptive branching operation which takes place in one-dimensional intervals. Results from numerical experiments show that large scale problems can be efficiently solved by the proposed methods.  相似文献

We investigate a dynamic oligopoly game where goods are differentiated and prices are sticky. We study the open-loop and the closed-loop memoryless Nash equilibrium, and show that the latter equilibrium entails a larger level of steady state production as compared to the former; both equilibria entail a larger level of production in steady state than the static game. We also study the effects of price stickiness and product differentiation upon the steady state equilibrium allocation and profits. The per-firm equilibrium output is increasing in both product differentiation and price stickiness, while profits are increasing in both product differentiation and the speed of price adjustment. The steady state social welfare monotonically increases in the speed of price adjustment, and the overproduction entailed by dynamic competition has beneficial effect from a social standpoint.  相似文献

This paper deals with an experimental investigation of positioning new brands. For this purpose, a management game was carried out with students. The brands introduced in the cause of the game were analysed in respect to their positions in a two-dimensional feature space. We try to find out which of the two strategies, niche policy and imitation, is more frequently used in complex decision situations and if there is a difference in profits. Furthermore, we want to find out, whether differences of prices and advertising exist in our experiment depending on the positioning strategy used.  相似文献

In this account, we provide a brief summary of recent developments in ruthenium‐catalyzed metathesis cascade reactions towards the total synthesis of natural products. We also highlight recent progress from our own laboratory regarding the synthesis of securinega alkaloids and humulanolides, which has resulted in the development of novel ruthenium‐catalyzed metathesis cascade reactions. Inspired and guided by the pioneering and elegant research conducted in this area, we developed a regio‐controlled relay dienyne metathesis cascade reaction and a cyclobutene‐promoted RCM/ROM/RCM cascade reaction for the synthesis of securinega alkaloids and humulanolides, respectively.  相似文献

Reactions between methane and various radicals have become the workhorse in our understanding of mode specificity and bond selectivity in bimolecular reactions. In this work, the recently proposed Sudden Vector Projection (SVP) model is used to gain insight into the existing experimental and theoretical data on these reactions. The SVP model attributes mode specificity and bond selectivity to the coupling of reactant modes/bonds with the reaction coordinate at the transition state. In the sudden limit, the strength of the coupling can be simply computed by projecting the corresponding reactant normal mode vector onto that of the imaginary frequency mode at the saddle point. In addition, the SVP model can be used to predict energy disposal in the products, thanks to microscopic reversibility. It is shown that most of the mode‐specific and bond‐selective chemistry in X + CH4/CHD3 (X=H, F, O(3P), Cl, and OH) reactions can be reasonably understood with this simple model.  相似文献

We find an asymptotic expression for the essential norm of products of these operators on weighted Bergman spaces on the unit disk. Quality function deployment (QFD) is a useful analyzing tool in product design and development. To solve the uncertainty or imprecision in QFD, numerous researchers have applied the fuzzy set theory to QFD and developed various fuzzy QFD models. Three issues are investigated by examining their models. First, the extant studies focused on identifying important engineering characteristics and seldom explored the subsequent prototype product selection issue. Secondly, the previous studies usually use fuzzy number algebraic operations to calculate the fuzzy sets in QFD. This approach may cause a great deviation in the result from the correct value. Thirdly, few studies have paid attention to the competitive analysis in QFD. However, it can provide product developers with a large amount of valuable information. Aimed at these three issues, this study integrates fuzzy QFD and the prototype product selection model to develop a product design and selection (PDS) approach. In fuzzy QFD, the α-cut operation is adopted to calculate the fuzzy set of each component. Competitive analysis and the correlations among engineering characteristics are also considered. In prototype product selection, engineering characteristics and the factors involved in product development are considered. A fuzzy multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) approach is proposed to select the best prototype product. A case study is given to illustrate the research steps for the proposed PDS method. The proposed method provides product developers with more useful information and precise analysis results. Thus, the PDS method can serve as a helpful decision-aid tool in product design.  相似文献
