Based on Bernstein's Theorem, Kalandia's Lemma describes the error estimate and the smoothness of the remainder under the second part of Hoelder norm when a HSlder function is approximated by its best polynomial approximation. In this paper, Kalandia's Lemma is generalized to the cases that the best polynomial is replaced by one of its four kinds of Chebyshev polynomial expansions, the error estimates of the remainder are given out under Hoeder norm or the weighted HSlder norms. 相似文献

Linear complexity and linear complexity profile are important characteristics of a sequence for applications in cryptography
and Monte-Carlo methods.
The nonlinear congruential method is an attractive alternative to the classical linear congruential method for pseudorandom
number generation.
Recently, a weak lower bound on the linear complexity profile of a general nonlinear congruential pseudorandom number generator
was proven by Gutierrez, Shparlinski and the first author. For most nonlinear generators a much stronger lower bound is expected.
Here, we obtain a much stronger lower bound on the linear complexity profile of nonlinear congruential pseudorandom number

This paper is devoted to the testing and comparison of numerical solutions obtained from higher-order accurate finite difference schemes for the two-dimensional Burgers' equation having moderate to severe internal gradients. The fourth-order accurate two-point compact scheme, and the fourth-order accurate Du Fort Frankel scheme are derived. The numerical stability and convergence are presented. The cases of shock waves of severe gradient are solved and checked with the fourth-order accurate Du Fort Frankel scheme solutions. The present study shows that the fourth-order two-point compact scheme is highly stable and efficient in comparison with the fourth-order accurate Du Fort Frankel scheme. 相似文献

We consider in this paper spectral and pseudospectral approximations using Hermite functions for PDEs on the whole line. We first develop some basic approximation results associated with the projections and interpolations in the spaces spanned by Hermite functions. These results play important roles in the analysis of the related spectral and pseudospectral methods. We then consider, as an example of applications, spectral and pseudospectral approximations of the Dirac equation using Hermite functions. In particular, these schemes preserve the essential conservation property of the Dirac equation. We also present some numerical results which illustrate the effectiveness of these methods. 相似文献
