Some Optimization Reformulations of the Extended Linear Complementarity Problem

We consider the extended linear complementarity problem (XLCP) introduced by Mangasarian and Pang [22], of which the horizontal and vertical linear complementarity problems are two special cases. We give some new sufficient conditions for every stationary point of the natural bilinear program associated with XLCP to be a solution of XLCP. We further propose some unconstrained and bound constrained reformulations for XLCP, and study the properties of their stationary points under assumptions similar to those for the bilinear program.     

Remarks around 50 lines of Matlab: short finite element implementation

A short Matlab implementation for P ₁-x ₁ finite elements on triangles and parallelograms is provided for the numerical solution of elliptic problems with mixed boundary conditions on unstructured grids. According to the shortness of the program and the given documentation, any adaptation from simple model examples to more complex problems can easily be performed. Numerical examples prove the flexibility of the Matlab tool. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.

两相滴定法研究溶剂萃取机理的通用计算机程序

基于Marquardt-Fletcher改进的Gauss-Newton法,编写了1个从pH滴定结果计算酸性萃取剂在两相溶液中的分配常数、在水溶液中的电离常数及其金属络合物在水相和有机相中形成常数的通用计算机程序SCTPT。本程序能计算含有20个M_iA_iH_k型络合物存在的两相体系,对初值无严格要求,可在4～15个数量级内变化,并已用于PMBP--Cu²⁺,PMBPZn²⁺的苯-水体系,结果满意。

Existence of the equivariant minimal model program for compact Kähler threefolds with the action of an abelian group of maximal rank

Let X be a $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial compact Kähler klt threefold admitting an action of a free abelian group G, which is of positive entropy and of maximal rank. After running the G-equivariant log minimal model program, we show that such X is either rationally connected or bimeromorphic to a Q-complex torus. In particular, we fix an issue in the proof of our previous paper [23, Theorem 1.3].     

On the fixed part of pluricanonical systems for surfaces

We show that $|m{K}_X|$ defines a birational map and has no fixed part for some bounded positive integer m for any $\frac{1}{2}$-lc surface X such that $K_X$ is big and nef. For every positive integer $n\ge 3$, we construct a sequence of projective surfaces $X_{n,i}$, such that $K_{X_{n,i}}$ is ample, $\mathrm{mld}(X_{n,i})>\frac{1}{n}$ for every i, ${\lim }_{i\to +\infty }\mathrm{mld}(X_{n,i})=\frac{1}{n}$, and for any positive integer m, there exists i such that $|m{K}_{X_{n,i}}|$ has nonzero fixed part. These results answer the surface case of a question of Xu.
