Carleson measures, multipliers and integration operators for spaces of Dirichlet type

For 0<p<∞ and α>−1, we let denote the space of those functions f which are analytic in the unit disc and satisfy . In this paper we characterize the positive Borel measures μ in D such that , 0<p<q<∞. We also characterize the pointwise multipliers from to (0<p<q<∞) if p−2<α<p. In particular, we prove that if the only pointwise multiplier from to (0<p<q<∞) is the trivial one. This is not longer true for and we give a number of explicit examples of functions which are multipliers from to for this range of values.     

Function spaces and product topologies on powers of spaces

A study is made of two classes of product topologies on powers of spaces: the general box product topologies, and the general uniform product topologies. Some examples are given and some results are shown about the properties of these general product spaces. This is applied to show that certain spaces of continuous functions with the fine topology are homeomorphic to box product spaces, and certain spaces of continuous functions with the uniform topology are homeomorphic to uniform product spaces.     

Representing systems generated by reproducing kernels

In this paper, we study the representing and absolutely representing systems in the context of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. We prove in particular that, in many classical spaces including weighted Hardy and Dirichlet spaces and de Branges–Rovnyak spaces, there cannot exist absolutely representing systems of reproducing kernels.

First and second-order necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for infinite-dimensional programming problems

First-order and second-order necessary and sufficient optimality conditions are given for infinite-dimensional programming problems with constraints defined by arbitrary closed convex cones. The necessary conditions are immediate generalizations of those known for the finite-dimensional case. However, this does not hold for the sufficient conditions as illustrated by a counterexample. Here, to go from finite to infinite dimensions, causes an essential change in the proof-techniques and the results. We present modified sufficient conditions of first-order and of second-order which are based on a strengthening of the usual assumptions on the derivative of the objective function and on the second derivative of the Lagrangian.     

Deviation operator and deviation equations over spaces with affine connections and metrics

The notion of deviation operator over spaces with affine connection (L_n-spaces) is introduced and its applications to deviation equations is considered. On the basis of a deviation identity, by means of sufficient or necessary and sufficient conditions, different deviation equations are obtained and considered. It is shown that the deviation equation for auto-parallel trajectories in L_n-spaces (geodesics in V_n-spaces) allows also other solutions than the well-known solutions for auto-parallel (geodesic) trajectories.
