This paper shows that the plane wave expansion can be a useful tool in obtaining analytical solutions to infinite integrals over spherical Bessel functions and the derivation of identities for these functions. The integrals are often used in nuclear scattering calculations, where an analytical result can provide an insight into the reaction mechanism. A technique is developed whereby an integral over several special functions which cannot be found in any standard integral table can be broken down into integrals that have existing analytical solutions.  相似文献

Building on work of Terada, we prove that h-homogeneity is productive in the class of zero-dimensional spaces. Then, by generalizing a result of Motorov, we show that for every non-empty zero-dimensional space X there exists a non-empty zero-dimensional space Y such that X×Y is h-homogeneous. Also, we simultaneously generalize results of Motorov and Terada by showing that if X is a space such that the isolated points are dense then Xκ is h-homogeneous for every infinite cardinal κ. Finally, we show that a question of Terada (whether Xω is h-homogeneous for every zero-dimensional first-countable X) is equivalent to a question of Motorov (whether such an infinite power is always divisible by 2) and give some partial answers.  相似文献

The use of elementary submodels is a simple but powerful method to prove theorems, or to simplify proofs in infinite combinatorics. First we introduce all the necessary concepts of logic, then we prove classical theorems using elementary submodels. We also present a new proof of Nash-Williams’s theorem on cycle decomposition of graphs, and finally we improve a decomposition theorem of Laviolette concerning bond-faithful decompositions of graphs.  相似文献

Operator geometric stable laws are the weak limits of operator normed and centered geometric random sums of independent, identically distributed random vectors. They generalize operator stable laws and geometric stable laws. In this work we characterize operator geometric stable distributions, their divisibility and domains of attraction, and present their application to finance. Operator geometric stable laws are useful for modeling financial portfolios where the cumulative price change vectors are sums of a random number of small random shocks with heavy tails, and each component has a different tail index.  相似文献

The phase diagram of the model of spinless fermions with repulsive nearest neighbour interaction is calculated analytically on a hypercubic lattice in infinite dimensions (d → ∞). In spite of its simplicity the model displays a rich phase diagram depending on the doping δ, the interaction U and the temperature T. The system can be in the homogeneous phase (HOM), the nonsegregated AB charge density wave (AB-CDW), the AB phase separation region (PS-AB/HOM; coexistence of AB-CDW and HOM), the incommensurate phase (IP) or the IP phase separation region (PS-AB/IP; coexistence of AB-CDW and IP). We identify three important values of the interaction UIPL = 0.572 < UIPH = 1.914 < UIP/PS = 4.212 which distinguish four intervals of U. These imply four different types of phase diagrams. In all the three phase diagrams with U below UIP/PS the IP appears. We propose a new general ansatz for the order parameter of this phase. A competition between the IP, the PS-AB/IP and the PS-AB/HOM is found. The relevance of our findings for the phase scenario of the Hubbard model is shown.  相似文献

We prove that the vertex set of a K0-free weakly median graph G endowed with the weak topology associated with the geodesic convexity on V(G) is compact if and only if G has one of the following equivalent properties: (1) G contains no isometric rays; (2) any chain of interval of G ordered by inclusion is finite; (3) every self-contraction of G fixes a non-empty finite regular weakly median subgraph of G. We study the self-contractions of K0-free weakly median graphs which fix no finite set of vertices. We also follow a suggestion of Imrich and Klavzar [Product Graphs, Wiley, New York, 2000] by defining different centers of such a graph G, each of them giving rise to a non-empty finite regular weakly median subgraph of G which is fixed by all automorphisms of G.  相似文献
