A multifractal analysis of equilibrium measures for conformal expanding maps and Moran-like geometric constructions

In this paper we establish the complete multifractal formalism for equilibrium measures for Hölder continuous conformal expanding maps andexpanding Markov Moran-like geometric constructions. Examples include Markov maps of an interval, beta transformations of an interval, rational maps with hyperbolic Julia sets, and conformal toral endomorphisms. We also construct a Hölder continuous homeomorphism of a compact metric space with an ergodic invariant measure of positive entropy for which the dimension spectrum is not convex, and hence the multifractal formalism fails.

Bivariate C1 Cubic Spline Spaces Over Even Stratified Triangulations

It is well-known that the basic properties of a bivariate spline space such as dimension and approximation order depend on the geometric structure of the partition. The dependence of geometric structure results in the fact that the dimension of a C ¹ cubic spline space over an arbitrary triangulation becomes a well-known open problem. In this paper, by employing a new group of smoothness conditions and conformality conditions, we determine the dimension of bivariate C ¹ cubic spline spaces over a so-called even stratified triangulation.     

The Hilbert Series of Measures of Entanglement for 4 Qubits

We determine the Hilbert series of measures of entanglement for 4 qubits. A Consistent Estimator of the Entropy of Measures and Dynamical Systems

In the paper, a new invariant of measures and dynamical systems, called statentropy, is described. A statistical estimator for statentropy, computed without using auxiliary estimates of measures, is constructed. It is proved that the proposed statistical estimator is consistent under fairly general restrictions. We show that for exact dimensional measures, statentropy coincides with the Hausdorff dimension of the measure, and for ergodic dynamical systems, it coincides with the metric entropy of the map.__________Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, vol. 77, no. 6, 2005, pp. 903–916.Original Russian Text Copyright ©2005 by E.
